The Bio Suites is a great hotel, situated a 4 minute walk from the sandy beach and an easy 20 minute stroll along the beach road promenade to the old town of Rethymon, which is a must to get lost in and enjoy. If we were to return to Crete we would stay here again.
The hotel looks clean and welcomng from the outside and this continues throughout. The multilingual reception team were courteous, very helpful and available 24/7.
The room we stayed in had comortable twin beds, TV, fridge, kettle, airconditioning, ample storage space, balcony (ours overlooked the street but others do overlook the swimming pool area) and a great shower. Daily housekeeping available, which you controlled via request buttons by the door, or a 'Do Not Disturb' DND option.
The food is buffet style and catered for all international tastes, was excellent quality, lots of choice and the lunch / dinner selections changed daily. If you were not on a package, the breakfast cost just Euro 8, lunch Euro 10 and dinner Euro 12 - this is really good value given what was available to eat. The restaurant staff were very attentive, cleared up used plates and cutlery quickly and we never had to wait to be seated. Good selection of wines to buy.
The swiming pool area was well spaced out so you were not sitting right next to other guests, the pool was a good size, protected from the wind given it is surrounded by other buildings.
The hotel is one block back from the beach road and the Bio Suites have their own area on the beach for their guests, who can pay Euro 9 for two sunbeds and a parasol. The beach is expansive, the sea was warm and the area was ideal for children. Numerous showers available to wash the feet off when leaving and with boardwalks to use as the sand did get hot.
Transfer to Heraklion airport was 1.5 hours along the coastal road so not too onerous.
There are lots of restauarnts, bars, cafes, ice cream & tourist shops and supermarkets in the close vicinity.
Summary - really pleased we stayed here and happy to return - both the Bio Suites and Rethymon are a great place for a holiday.

This hotel exceeded expectations on every level, after so many hotels to choose from in Rethymnon we 100% made the right choice.
Located in a quieter area, one road back from the seafront, 4-minute walk to the beach.

Our room, a studio was huge with lots of natural daylight, also a balcony on three sides. Kitchen area, plenty of storage space, comfortable bed, the air con kept the room nice and cool. Separate shower cubicle with modern powerful shower, separate toilet, along with double wash basins.

Open plan airy reception/lobby which lead out to the pool, plenty of sunbeds and space, pool temperature very pleasant.
The pool does close at 6pm which we found too early after returning from a couple of very hot days sightseeing trips and would like to have cooled off.
Lovely spa pool on the lower level including sauna, at no additional charge.
Buffet breakfast served a good selection of hot and cold food. Standard hot drinks although I didn’t notice any de-café coffee. Evening meals were varied and tasty, different cuisine theme each evening, excellent value.
Evening entertainment most nights.
The hotel has its own section of sunbeds on the beach which were free of charge, you need to bring down your hotel towel and show your card.

The service we received from all members of staff was superb. The restaurant staff couldn’t do enough for you.

The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout. Our room was cleaned and made up to the highest standard – thank you :)

I would thoroughly recommend staying at this hotel for numerous reasons, you will not be disappointed.

Booked this hotel in March for end of July. Slightly panicked but going off reviews we thought we'd be OK. Upon arrival nice receptionist explained everything to us and we went to find our room. Room was absolutely spotless and very modern they provide virtually anything you will need. Cleaned everyday if you wish and cleaning staff are so friendly. Now for the bar staff. First couple of days they kind of get used to who you are and what room you are in etc then by day 3 or 4 you feel like you have a personal assistant they are absolutely unbelievable. The main two people who stand out is Gorgios (sorry if the name is wrong) and the other main lady (has a lovely young daughter who we got to meet aswel) These two people especially are the absolute platinum class in customer service. Taking nothing away from all the other staff but these two take the medals. Also special mention to the barman making my cocktails all week and going out of his way multiple times. Me and my family had the week of our lives. Only negative was my bar bill because the drinks were that nice 😂Never said we'd visit the same place twice but we're already looking for next year. Had an incredible 7 nights. See you next year. Lots of love Mr Oliver Aka Mr Zombie 😂

I saw very different photos online after booking than what we experienced when we arrived. I get the impression that the hotel has been renovated recently. It was probably the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in in Greece in my many trips. The room (a twin studio) was huge with cooking facilities, a fridge etc. It was very well equipped. We had fruit and 2 little bottles on wine (and water) on arrival which was a nice touch.
The beds were comfortable, nice mattresses and pillows. The staff were all so friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious and always looked so fresh and was well stocked. We ate dinner once in the hotel and would happily have eaten there more so but liked wandering to the old town.
I was worried that the pool might be in shade but actually there is a mix of both and you can stay in the sun all day if you wish. The beach is less than a minutes walk and you can use the Bio hotel toilets that are overlooking the beach.
Nice touch of free pool / beach towels.
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was good for a bit of a wander to the old town although those with mobility restrictions might find it a bit of a struggle.
I would love to stay here again. An enjoyable stay.

Hotel included in a flight+hotel package.
The location is perfect for walking into the old town to stroll and enjoy the typical streets of Rethymnon!
The hotel and all its members are of rare kindness! Kindness is essential, the waiters and waitresses take great care. The cleaning service is top notch! Even the one who came to redo the room put down our son's cuddly toys with imagination and delicacy. The restaurant manager does his job perfectly! Everything is done to spend the days in total plenitude where only the comfort of the customers counts!

What a great clean and friendly hotel. I understand that during the winter of 2022/3 a great deal of modernisation took place and as a result the reception, bar, restaurant, pool area and the rooms looked great. Some of the website pictures are still old and do not show the hotel in its true light. The hotel is situated one block back from the beach road so try and get a room overlooking the pool otherwise the street outlook is a bit boring. We stayed in a basic room with a balcony. It was large, very clean and had a very comfy bed. The staff go out of there way to be friendly and will do anything for you. The buffet style restaurant is very clean and there was always plenty to choose from. Personally buffet style is not for me as my wife and I always like to explore the local restaurants but if you have kids I can recommend going half board. The hotel is very conveniently located for the beach, old town and bus station. It was a great stay and if we ever came back to this part of Crete we would certainly stay again.

We got back yesterday from a week in this beautiful hotel, as soon as you walk in the door you were greeted by a friendly face in a spotless reception area, checked in and went straight up to our room, the decore was lovely threw out and the standard room was perfect which was a good start, straight down for dinner and yet again greeted by more smiley faces who couldn’t do more for you. The food was brilliant and catered for everyone. Me and my partner enjoy trying new things as well as favourites from home with a Crete twist, desserts where my favourite with a great selection. Our stay went far too fast but whilst we were there we treated ourselves to a massage in the hotel spa which was amazing we came away feeling extremely relaxed and no longer any aches and pain. On a daily basis we felt more like family with the staff and like we were the only ones there, we have already discussed our next trip there. See you in 2023 Bio suite Hotel xxxxx

We visited as a family in August and were originally worried about the current situation with COVID 19 but this hotel has handled it great. Sanitising stations all around the hotel, staff wearing masks, sun beds cleaned between people and separated to the correct distance. At meal times it is the usual buffet however the staff serve you and you tell them what you want, this seemed to work well however there were a few guests who didn’t keep their distance and when there was clearly a queue came right up to the front to see what was there when they should have waited. This is obviously no fault of the hotel whatsoever and more so a fault of the guests, maybe a one way system at meal times where you can’t get to the counters with food unless you queue would help?

However, the food itself was excellent every single day and the hotel staff could never do enough for you at all times making sure your drinks were topped up with such a welcoming attitude. The pool bar menu was just as good with large portions and staff around the pool being so accommodating to your needs at all times making you feel at home. Menus were done on a barcode so you could access them on your phone but they did have paper menus if needed. The entertainment was also great with something on most nights, the Greek night was our favourite.

We stayed in a superior one bedroom apartment and we didn’t arrive until 9.30 when dinner had finished and the hotel staff had left us food in the fridge alongside as water and wine for after our journey. The rooms were spacious, modern and clean with comfy beds and a good shower. Due to COVID 19 the maid service was available upon request so you go down to reception before 2pm and Tell them what time you want the maid to come - you have to be out of the room for 3 hours. The maids did an excellent job at cleaning the room.

The hotel itself was in a great location, only one road back from the beach and a 15 minute walk from the old town. The hotel has its own section of the beach where you can get sun beds at a reduced price which we used often. There was a supermarket just near the hotel alongside plenty of bars near the beach.

Overall, we cannot fault this hotel or their staff whatsoever. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome in all areas of the hotel and we will definitely be returning.

We stayed at one bed apartment. The room was very clean, recently renowed. The service is great. We travelled in august 2020, when covid measures were applied everywhere and some restrictions were on. In the restaurant personnel wore masks and everything was disinfected after each customer, table clothes changed, etc.
Food was quite good, there was a buffe, but they served food themselves (in gloves and masks). Pool area is very nice, clean and cosy (especially at night time). Beach is 3 min walk from the hotel, there are sunbeds and umbrellas which belong to the hotel ( for extra fee) Reception people are extreamly helpful all the time.
The atmosphere seemed very quiet and relaxed. My family enjoyed this holiday very much.

We look back on a very pleasant 3-week stay in Crete. The hotel bio suites where we stayed was fine. We felt the warmth of the staff every day, who ensured that we lacked nothing. Bio suites hotel has neatly furnished rooms, a beautiful swimming pool, a restaurant, bar, gym and spa. The price/quality ratio is very reasonable. Guests can use the facilities free of charge. However, a massage costs money. My husband put it to the test and had a one-hour massage with Konstantinos. His colleague Piret had convinced him of this pleasant experience. Although the spa and massage require the necessary attention, they are not intrusive. The people remain friendly and polite. Very pleasant for all guests. Konstantinos gave a very good massage; so all credits go to him. We wish him good luck with his physiotherapy studies!
