Excellent rooms, large swimming pool in site, laundry, kitchenette and refrigerator. Air conditioned. Lovely hostess, Maria, always there to help. Rooms are clean and all amenities are present. Wi-Fi is only on pool area but they are working on it for every room.

Our names are Neil and Diane and we have been to the Marianthi Apartments twice. We found that the owners and their family i.e. Nikos, Roussa, Zanthy, Maria and Eleni are the most friendly and hospitable people we have ever met on our travels. They cannot do enough for you. The apartments are very well kept and are very clean. They pay particular attention to cleanliness at all times. Since the first time we visited these apartments they now have two new swimming pools including a childrens pool. They have a mousakka night and a BBQ night all of which they put on themselves. The food is excellent. We couldn't recommend these apartments highly enough. If you want a peaceful holiday that is ideally located then this is the place to be and the beach is only 10 minutes walk away. We recently had a great holiday in Crete, staying at the Marianthi Appartments in Platanes 5Kms from Rethymnon. The location is ideal being a 2 minute walk from lots of local shops and tavernas and the beach is only 5 minutes away. Our hosts Roussa and Nikos were very kind and helpfull. Nothing was too much bother. They do a free moussaka night on Thursdays and also organise a barbecue on Sundays, great value at 10 euro per head. Apart from that they will ply you with their own wine, retsina and raki. Roussa's favourite saying is "Relax, no problem" and you will certainly relax here. The only small fault is some road noise on the side facing the main highway but it wouldn't be Crete without a bit of noise! Thoroughly reccommended.

Our family stay in Marianthi Apartments was of 8 nights and i enjoyed every single bit of it...location is perfect quite central, it is truly a place where u can lay back and relax...rooms are good and clean very comfortable and the room make up staff is fast and good..
Swimming pool is very clean and the water is changed daily.
There are many restaurants located on walking distance from the appts where u can get all type of food..
All in all, if you want a good budget place with a nice pool ,well equipped bar and friendly owners.. nothing can be better than Marianthi Apartments and in the near future i will definetely chose the establishment again.

My husband and I stayed at these apartments last weekend - the idea to explore the local area.
We stayed at the above apartments and were really very pleased with our apartment which was exeptionally clean withself catering facilities.
The owners, Nikos and Rosa were jsut fantastic - warm, welcoming and coutnt do enough for us. Their hospitality was just perfect.
Home cooking that Rosa did was first class and it was great sampling local food.
Definitely a place we would return to in the summer so we could use the pool and relax in the lovely gardens.

my parents and i arrived home yesterday after spending 2 wonderful weeks at the marianthi apartments with nikos rousa xanti maria and eleni , the family made us so welcome and made the holiday one of the best we have ever had , if i am lucky enough to return next year with family or friends then the marianthi is the only place i want to stay ,

Nikos and Rousa and their 3 lovely daughters treat all their guests like an extended family.
Their constant good-humoured nature, and permanent cheerfulness, show that they are not merely earning a living from their guests, but show a genuine caring attitude.
You could not top this in any 5 star hotel.
We shall return for our 5th visit next June.

Marianthi and her husband Thomas should be proud of what they have achieved.
My family and I stayed with Marianthi for two weeks and were wowed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the venue, and although they did not have the same level of the facilities of the larger hotels, they made up for it by providing the personal touch, something you do not get in the usual faceless cattle market type hotels.
Highly reccomended and I am hopefully looking forward to taking our newest child to see Marianthi, Thomas, and her children this year (2006).

On our third visit to Crete we were lucky enough to have chosen the Marianthi Apartments. This wonderful family made us feel welcome from the moment we set our luggage down,their hospitality is second to none.

we stayed for 12 days aug/sept this year and have no complaints at all .the rooms are large ,clean and well kept.
maria and her family are really friendly and will do all they can to make sure you have a great holiday.
its a 10 min walk to the beach and the resort has a large selection of good resteraunts and bars,we loved the bar atos and finikas resteraunt

Airport is 30 kilometers from the hotel. Can't say if there is a shuttle but you can contact the manager and ask. They speak English.

"The rooms that have verandahs that look over the pool are subjected to the most noise from the highway, which is not visible I must add. However, with the doors and shutters closed at night traffic noise is all but blocked out. The rooms at the rear with verandahs that look over the garden and field beyond are quieter at all times."Read full review
