Nothing very special, but we enjoyed our one night stay here at the Theartemis Palace. We ate buffet dinner and a breafast in the hotel restaurant and both of them had enough choices for the both of us.

The hotel we originally booked closed down, so this was where we were placed instead. So in a nut shell, it was good. We didn't like the location, however, it is close to the old town which is absolutely stunning. The pool area is quite small, but the beach is a couple of minutes walk, so you can always head there if there's no room at the pool. Be aware of all inclusive, the bar stops serving all inclusive guests at 11pm, then you have to buy your drinks at the bar. The one thing that really stood out with this hotel was, it's absolutely spotless and the food was exceptional!

Clean well appointed hotel in main building. Annexe a bit dated apparently. Room good size, well appointed and clean. Staff helpful. Food ok. Reasonable selection though not particularly hot. Pleasant pool area though not many beds in sun. Need to reserve early if planning to catch some sun. 15 minute walk to start of old town. Generally would recommend

Stayed here in Oct for four nights. The room was upgraded which was fantastic and had a hot tub outside. The lobby area looks great and check in and out was quick and no bother although we did have to wait until 1pm to check in which is understandable. Room was cleaned and serviced daily. The breakfast was typical half board style with everyone nearly tripping over each other for the outdoor tables - the waiting staff were great though. Great selection of food but the cooked items were cold - so mediocre in reality. Hotel catered for multitude of Nationalities which was great but mainly older clientele. The hotel is a brisk 15 to 20 min walk into the old town. Taxi back cost around €5. Pool area tidy and comfortable beds although in Oct only half the pool area got some sun. The hotel is about 100m from the beach and a great selection of restaurants. Maybe not the best location but ok for a short break.

We only booked the hotel at the last minute due to Thomas Cook going into administration, so to be fair it would not have been our first choice. However, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, especially considering it was the end of the season and the resort was beginning to wind down. We arrived at midnight and were offered a cold buffet which was a nice and unexpected touch. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner which were both buffet style. Minor grumbles were the faulty toaster at breakfast and the hot food only being warm. The pool area was well maintained, waiter service extremely good and we never had a problem obtaining a sunbed, especially when we realised that there was always a stack of spare beds kept in one corner. Our room was comfortable and as with the rest of the hotel it had recently been refurbished. Maid service was excellent. The only annoying thing was the electronic 'do not disturb' sign near our bed which gave the room a blue glow all night. The strange thing is that the hotel is split over two buildings so the gym and spa were across the road. The spa was overpriced and located in converted basement offices, so not purpose built. We felt that we were sitting in someone's office!! Overall, a lovely hotel, 2 minutes from the beach and a 20 minute walk from Rethymno town centre.
