We recently stayed here 8 nights. Our original booking request had been for a Junior Suite with walk in shower (Estate side), we did not wish to walk downstairs to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but on arrival were offered an upgrade to an Executive Suite on the Palazzo side. Downside: No elevator. We stayed in Room 111 (Erotokritos). Being mature aged travellers, our initial concern the 46 step climb to our quarters would be beyond at least one, if not both of us, luckily, proved not to be the case. Our luggage, up and down, was swiftly dealt with by the very charming Alex and his compatriot whose name, I apologise, I cannot remember. We were appreciative of the upgrade which gave us a separate bedroom, well appointed bathroom (with shower over bath – quite manageable), sitting room/TV area, all on one level, plus our own private balcony, though you did have to step up and down to access. The latter we really enjoyed, particularly sitting outside watching the sun rise/set over the terra cotta rooftops. Others have explained the location, and praised the ambience and what this hotel offers, I will direct comments about the staff and service. Exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble for Helena at Reception, printing out bus schedules, organising taxis, suggesting sites to visit. Alex, (we nicknamed him Alex Everywhere), always bobbed up with a smile just when you thought you “might” need something. Unobtrusive instinct on his part. There is a breakfast area on both sides. We ate our breakfast on the Estate side. After the first morning, Glikeria, and I do hope I have remembered her name correctly, did not have to ask when and how we wanted our coffee served. She got it right every time. The hotel is exceptionally well staffed. The architects involved in the restoration are to be complimented on their achievement. Should we return to Crete, would not think of staying anywhere else. Thank you all at Rimondi Boutique Hotel for making our holiday so memorable.

We stayed 11 days here, it’s a lovely hotel well situated in the old town. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. Breakfast is very good, if a little repetitive after a week. Previous reviews spoke highly of nearby beaches, however we were very disappointed, the nearest beaches (around 10-15 minutes walk) are extremely busy, very commercial and back on to a busy road. Walking along the front you could be anywhere, personally we prefer something more ‘Greek ‘. Therefore we took a bus to Georgioupoli about 25 minutes, which is still busy but pleasant. Luckily we noticed some beaches on the way, so hired a car and explored. Found some lovely beaches along here towards Georgioupoli, and spent our days here, lovely beach and tavernas with a much better Greek feel. Only about 20 minutes on a bus. Evenings in the Old Town are great, lots of lovely restaurants, particularly Kapalio, just next door! And some great bars dotted about. We had a lovely room at Rimondi, over looking the pool, and it was always kept spotlessly clean. We felt the bar prices to be high in the hotel, which is a shame as we would have stayed for a drink or two before heading out to dinner.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We changed rooms from the Maisonette to a larger suite because we did not like the bed being upstairs and the toilet downstairs and the room was quite basic although full of character. The hotel is ideally situated and was quite quiet even though it is very central. The staff were very helpful and obliging. Breakfast was enjoyable especially because you could have it out in the courtyard in the fresh air.

We visited this hotel for a weeks break in crete. We initially booked the standard room but upon arrival took up the offer of the upgrade to the deluxe suite. Spacious and well appointed. The room looked over the main pool and breakfast area. The hotel is situated in the old town, so no traffic and no noise. Breakfasts were continental with fresh made eggs, to your choice. The hotel booked a taxi from the airport which was €90.Just below the going rate for airport based taxis. The staff were extremely helpful and spoke good English. If we visit this area again would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located in the old Venetian part of town. You are surrounded by a network of narrow traffic free streets bustling with life. There are numerous, charming places to eat and drink all within a short walking distance. The streets have numerous shops of a good quality selling a full range of goods. The extremely picturesque old port is only minutes away and a fantastic beach a 15 minute walk. The hotel is charming with no two rooms the same. The staff are all friendly and helpful. You can relax in the central courtyard along side the plunge pool in an are that is never too busy. A prime location for couples to relax and enjoy themselves in peaceful atmosphere.
