SENTIDO Aegean Pearl is steps away from the sandy beach at Rethymnon, a town on the north coast of Crete. The hotel is a short drive to the east of the town centre, towards the end of a promenade that stretches several kilometres along the seafront to Rethymnon's marina. There's a main pool area at the front of the hotel, edged by palm trees, plus two smaller pools. Two of the pools have dedicated children's sections. The spa, which is shared with the neighbouring SENTIDO Pearl Beach, has an indoor pool, whirlpool and a Finnish sauna. It also offers fitness and massage programmes, as well as beauty therapies. The hotel has a varied programme of evening entertainment such as live music and DJs, folklore nights with Cretan and Greek dancing, magic shows and belly dancers. During the daytime you might like to try a cooking lesson, learn about herbal teas, or take a guided walk in the surrounding countryside. The town of Rethymnon has a centre that dates back to the Renaissance, with Venetian and Moorish architecture and narrow alleyways now filled with shops, cafés and bars. A highlight is the Venetian Fortezza, a walled fortress with a hidden chapel. Beneath its walls you can walk around the old harbour, perhaps stopping for some freshly-grilled fish at one of the many tavernas. At the end of the breakwater stands a 17th-century Turkish lighthouse, while a few steps away is the Venetian Loggia, once a meeting place for local nobility that was later turned into a mosque.

What can I say. This was our fourth time at the Sentido Aegean Pearl and we are looking forward to our next visit. We love the relaxing time we spend there and with the great staff it feels like a home from home. If you like walking the centre of town is a brisk 25 min walk away but because of the this the hotel is nice and quiet at night. The room was lovely and the food in the restaurant caters for all tastes. A big thankyou to Ilias and all the staff in there and to the management and the rest of the staff keep up the good work and we will see you again next year. Many thanks David & Gillian

1 week at the hotel B&B. 3 pools and across the road to beach with hotel own section. Very clean public areas including WCs and beach. Pools get busy on sun beds but always room at the beach. Bedrooms very modern decor with open area to sink and shower so you need to be comfortable who you share the room with! Balcony with table and chairs if you want to sit out. Had some problems with the electrical but were fixed day after. Breakfast standard buffet for all continental. Everything you can think of. Last 20 minutes hot food starts running out. Decent quality. Staff very attentive. Snack bar Lunch staff fun have a laugh and efficient service. Great food, fast and low prices. All sorts of food- salads €6, sandwiches€3, pizza, Greek specials. Bar staff fun for a laugh. Cocktails are good quality but cost around €8-10. G&T €7. Pint €4. Can sit in or outside. Did evening meal on arrival night. Buffet nothing special and we always eat at different places on hols anyway. Evening entertainment every night for the scary who don’t want to go out! Disco, Greek dancing, singers. Finishes around 11.00. About 30 minute walk to old town or €5 in taxi. There is a taxi rank across the road 50m always someone there. Summary? Lovely hotel for all. Overall good value. Excellent service and I would come back.

We booked to stay at the Sentido Aegean Pearl as an alternative package after our original tour operator ceased trading. It proved to be a great choice for location, service, comfort and food. Whilst situated at the far end of Rethymnon it provided a quiet location within a 45 minute walk into the old town along the prom with the alternative option of a regular service bus trip (no 20) only a 5 minute walk away. This bus also serves Panormo, a small but delightful village further round the bay with a sandy beach which is well worth a visit. The service was excellent, provided by friendly, helpful and personable staff working in all areas throughout the hotel. This was illustrated immediately on our arrival after midnight, as one suitcase had been offloaded at a previous hotel drop over an hour earlier. The reception staff immediately liaised with the other hotel and bus driver to get the luggage delivered by taxi, despite it being no fault of the Aegean Pearl. Our case was ready and waiting for us before 08.00hrs when we came down to breakfast. They also gave us a freshly plated salad and dessert to eat in our room after the long journey. Our room was 'Side sea view', very light and comfortable and is our recommendation as some other rooms located to the rear were reported by folk we met as dark despite looking out onto a small semi-private pool designed for their use. We stayed on a half board basis and found both breakfast and evening buffets provided a wide selection of dishes. The 'Greek Table' in particular offering traditional food and ingredients. There was a choice of pools and the beach is across the road with sunbed and shades provided free of charge by the hotel. This part of the beach is a little pebbly and the waves can sometimes be strong depending on wind direction but at other times the sea was calm and warm. We would certainly stay at the Aegean Pearl again if deciding to return to this area of Crete.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Thank you especially to Evegania in the restaurant- always smiling and welcoming. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean by the lovely chambermaids. All the staff have been attentive friendly and helpful and food, room and entertainment have all been excellent. The masseur in the wellness suite really sorted out the aches and pains with a reflexologist approach! 👍👍👍

Stayed here for two week in early September. The hotel is on the beach front, yards from the sea, very modern, comfortable reception area and lovely bedrooms. Everywhere is immaculate and cared for. We paid extra for a side sea view room which was worth it. The first day we arrived in the afternoon and were told our room wouldn't be available until the next day, we were then ungraded to a suite right on the front for one night. Lovely. The next morning our room was available by 11:30am and staff helped us move our luggage. When we got to our proper room we were very pleased with it. Plenty of wardrobe and draw space, comfortable beds, sheets and towels changed regularly. There is a radio in the room, which also has a CD player. Only English Channel on the T.V. was the news. We received 40 euro's each compensation through Jet2 for not being allocated the room we had booked. We stayed bed and breakfast and were happy with all the choices, both for cooked and continental. Eva who served at breakfast was lovely, so efficient and on the ball. We didn't have an evening meal so can't comment on that. We did eat at the pool bar and the food here was tasty, usual snack choices. We used the sun beds by the pool some days, never had a problem with availability, the other days we used the beds on the beach. The beach was lovely and Haris who is in charge of the sunbeds was amazing. He works so hard and remembers everyone, what a credit he is to the hotel. The old town of Rethymnon and harbour were too far away for us to walk to, but taxis are just outside the hotel, and a single journey to town was just five euros. There are quite a few restaurants in the area of the hotel so it isn't necessary to go to the old town every night. All in all I think this hotel is more like an excellent four star than five star, however we loved it and wish we were still there, The staff all all lovely and care about the guests. We loved Crete, and loved Sentido Aegean Pearl.
