Travelers' Choice
Aegean Pearl is steps away from the sandy beach at Rethymnon, a town on the north coast of Crete. The hotel is a short drive to the east of the town centre, towards the end of a promenade that stretches several kilometres along the seafront to Rethymnon's marina. There's a main pool area at the front of the hotel, edged by palm trees, plus two smaller pools. Two of the pools have dedicated children's sections. The spa, which is shared with the neighbouring Pearl Beach, has an indoor pool, whirlpool and a Finnish sauna. It also offers fitness and massage programmes, as well as beauty therapies. The hotel has a varied programme of evening entertainment such as live music and DJs, folklore nights with Cretan and Greek dancing, magic shows and belly dancers. During the daytime you might like to try a cooking lesson, learn about herbal teas, or take a guided walk in the surrounding countryside. The town of Rethymnon has a centre that dates back to the Renaissance, with Venetian and Moorish architecture and narrow alleyways now filled with shops, cafés and bars. A highlight is the Venetian Fortezza, a walled fortress with a hidden chapel. Beneath its walls you can walk around the old harbour, perhaps stopping for some freshly-grilled fish at one of the many tavernas. At the end of the breakwater stands a 17th-century Turkish lighthouse, while a few steps away is the Venetian Loggia, once a meeting place for local nobility that was later turned into a mosque.

Great hotel, really nice staff all around. We had the Best party, thankyou so much, and amazing Girls trip 😁 hotel is not 5* but it is clean and nice. Good for adults. Taxis are easy To use if needed and they are cheap and safe. Good sauna and hamam. Pool is small but was enough. Sunloungers might be Hard To get at peak season, beach is right there though.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed in the hotel for about 2 weeks in July. Our experience was superb. The staff was very polite and helpful, the breakfast and dinner buffets had everything you can imagine, from vegan to fruits and sweets. We didn't use the pools, we loved to swim in the sea, private beach from the hotel, we didn't pay for the sunbeds. The room was spacy,a big wardrobe, safe, tv, fridge , etc. Everyday it was made up and cleaned until 13:00. The pool bar was unexpectedly good, delicious food and reasonable prices, the staff very good, kind and quick. In general was a perfect stay in a unbelievably nice location. We'll meet again.

Fantastic food, brilliant atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Need we say more? The new, aptly named, Sea Breeze Gastrobar exceeded all of our expectations. Seafood and local mezes were superb - the location is beautiful and wine delicious! Highly recommended. Alan and Brenda

Stayed for one week in May on a B&B basis. Arrived at 0230, check in was overly fussy. Room with side-sea view was ok, but balcony is not remotely private. Breakfasts fine...good choice...very slow toaster. Hotel has small pool at the front. More sheltered pool is shared with hotel next door. Directly across the road from huge beach with included beds and umbrellas (you have to show your pass card). No issues with "reserving" but it was not high season, so plenty available. Beach has a lot of stones leading into the water, so swim shoes essential....and it shelves off very quickly into deeper water. Hotel has several decent bars and restaurants close by, and plenty of others about 10-15 minutes walk. Old Town/marina a 7 euro taxi ride. 2 supermarkets on the front, and a much larger one to the rear. We had a late transfer to Heraklion and a late checkout was arranged at 5 euro per hour, which was ok.

Just returned from our 3rd visit to Sentido Aegean Hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful; and genuinely want you to have a good holiday. The location of the hotel is great also- just across the road from the beach and near to Rethymnon old town. Nice rooms, great food. Great pool area. I absolutely love this hotel and can’t recommend it enough. Thank you to all the staff at the Sentido Aegean Hotel. We will be back… !!

The hotel is spotless, the rooms great and the staff fantastic. We had a great fortnight with our bridge group. The manager and his team were exceptionally helpful when our of our group had an accident getting out of a taxi near the hotel. I enjoyed the day break sessions and Saturday walk with tassos who is one of their many assets. The food is ok but I felt less good than in other years. I would have liked a bigger variety of fruit especially at breakfast. We had strawberries on the first morning then never again and the fruit salad was largely apples. The wine list is impressively varied for a hotel and has smaller bottles as well as full bottles at reasonable prices.

Just back home now from this beautiful hotel. From the moment we arrived into the very impressive reception area, we were made to feel welcome. Every single member of staff we encountered were smiling and helpful and made us feel special . The reception staff were so helpful, giving us lots of information about local buses, excursions, taxis etc. You can get a taxi only a few yards away from the hotel, they were always available and cost €6 only for the trip into the old town. Ulia was so very helpful and had endless information about organised trips away from the area. The hotels food is wonderful. Always a wide choice and very freshly cooked, something for everyone I’d say. Our restaurant staff were lovely, always a friendly good morning or good afternoon and happy to chat to you about your day. A special mention to Anna, Poppi, Joanna and Illyas , apologies for my incorrect spelling. Our bedroom was always kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeping staff. Our room was spacious with plenty of storage. Only the odd bathroom set up was a bit of a thing really. Wasn’t too much of a problem for us once we’d become used to it though. A massive thank you to everyone that helped make our holiday so special.

Stayed here for 10 nights , the hotel was spotless and the staff were extremely friendly. I agree with previous comments the bathroom set up is a bit unusual..but as a couple it worked for us. Breakfast was fantastic with a good selection of fresh food..didn’t eat at the snack bar but could see the food was amazing, we did have several drinks/ cocktails at the hotel bar which were very reasonably priced. The hotel is linked to the 4 star sister hotel next door and I couldn’t see the difference between the 2. My own grumble is on the last 2 days of our stay the hotel started to move reserved towels from sunbeds this in my opinion caused a very unnecessary argument between a hotel guest and the hotel management.. it felt very uncomfortable, to be witnessing such an event The reserving of sun beds is always a tricky one and in my opinion the reserving in the morning was not an issue it was the people who left them for hours during the day whilst they visited the beach.. we never had an issue getting sunbeds.

Hello from beautiful Rethymnon, thank you so much for having chosen our hotel as your holiday resort. It is wonderful to hear, that you enjoyed you stay and were pleased with our services. We inform our clients that it is not possible to reserve sunbeds as the pool areas are not so big. But it is very difficult for our staff to control this situation and to please everybody... Comfortable clean room, great breakfast and good buffet dinners. Decent size pools despite a side pool being out of order. Nice outside bar area and plenty to do. Gym a tad small and frustrating the sauna and steam room is 5EUR given this hotel is expensive enough. Generous size room and bed is very comfy but having no separation between bathroom and bedroom isn’t ideal for a family. Also only 2 bottles of water from the mini bar all week feels quite tight. Beautiful views in the evening and a private beach is also a massive plus side. Staff also lovely and very attentive! Overall a very nice experience however would probably try something different in the future

I am so thankful to have found/ chosen Aegean Pearl Hotel. From check-in to checkout, all staff were very kind, attentive and professional. The place is very clean with a delicious variety of breakfast selections ( included in room price). The poolside snack bar was very good, too, facing the beautiful blue sea. The hotel is easily accessible, including a handrail and steps going into the pool( which NOT many hotels have). Aegean Pearl is large enough for excellent professional service, and small enough to feel genuine Cretan hospitality. And the rooms have the most comfortable beds ever! I definitely recommend Aegean Pearl and hope to return sometime. Thank you all!
