Villa Rogdia was everything we wanted and more- quiet, private, luxurious & tasteful. The Villa has 4 bedrooms upstairs: two en suite doubles, including one that opens on to terrace facing but set back from the road & two twin tooms. the other double and one twin room back on to a large upstairs terrace with barbecue and entertaining area, overlooking the pool, where we had many lovely meals. The furnishings were very tasteful and comfortable the fittings were of a high standard, and the glass sided pool was wonderful. The air conditioning worked well and was very much appreciated. The villa is located virtually next door to an excellent bakery, the grocery store is 3 minutes walk away and there are several lovely tavernas nearby, the one in the nearby square being a highlight of our trip. The villa is about 6 kms uphill from old town Rethymno so easy to drive to for dinner & site seeing (there is also a good local bus route into Rethymno but we didn't use it), and there are several lovely beaches in easy drive, and many stunning beaches more around the island if you're feeling more adventurous. The weather was great during our stay and people were very welcoming George , Maria and family are wonderful hosts! George provided great communication throughout the booking process & arranged car hire for us, Maria's home cooked meal and wine provided on arrival was delicious and very much appreciated due to our late flight and nothing was too much trouble either during our stay or afterwards including returning airphones left behind in the villa. They were very also very conscious of coronavirus and took precautions to ensure our stay was COVID safe. We cannot recommend them highly enough as hosts and would happily return …
We are just finishing a wonderful 17 day stay at Villa Rogdia - Family of 6 people. George and his family have provided us with the most wonderful holiday experience - from booking our holiday so many months ago to facilitating our arrival and to providing valuable advice and assistance during our stay. The accommodation is simply luxurious. The Villa is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean throughout with everything a family could need for a great & memorable holiday experience. The outdoor pool area and balconies are well designed and ideal for a large family to enjoy the wonderful climate! The village of Atsipopoulo will provide you with everything you need, bakery, supermarket, ATM’s and restaurants serving traditional and authentic Greek plates. Tastes are amazing - fruits, vegetables & meats. Every second night we travelled into Rethymno - a very nice port city with everything to entertain from beautiful restaurants, bars to markets & shops for the kids (& adults). I would strongly recommend Nostos & Petite Fleur for dinner if you get a chance! We travelled by Taxi to/from Rethymno and George will only be too happy to organize for you. We used the same company that provided transfers from the Airport and this service proved very reliable! In the village, I would recommend Gyros for lunchtime. Ta Souvlakia & Manolis should also be experienced for Dinner. Ta Souvlakia also provide a take out option if you prefer not to go out on any night and just chill by the pool. We did this on two nights and it was very relaxing and food was excellent! There is a pizzeria near the Villa if kids prefer with a wonderful ice cream parlor just up the hill (50 meters). Upon our arrival, Maria (George’s Mum) provided some welcome treats - a traditional cheese plate with pastry. She has also provided traditional Greek dishes for us during our stay which is a wonderful touch! We leave in a few days but we already look forward to returning to this wonderful place. Our kids have been entertained from start to finish which makes holidays for everyone much more enjoyable!😀…
We had a fantastic holiday with the children in Villa Elia, made even better by the little touches offered by George and his family, we would recommend to anyone of our friends and family, the charming village was great for us and we made use of majority of the local shops and tavernas, especially the bakery, ice cream & coffee store. The pool area was fantastic and enjoyed thoroughly by the children. And for the me the BBQ area was amazing!! Also during or stay it was very hot but the aircon was superb throughout at night, Location is great, we managed to drive out to some fabulous beaches and coves, the villa was spotless and followed all COVID rules and regulations. Thank you for making our family holiday memorable, I can't recommend enough, we will return one day!!
We loved our stay in the fabulous Villa Rogdia. We were warmly welcomed by George who was available to answer any questions we had throughout our stay. The villa and pool are immaculate and fully equipped. Atsipopoulo village has a few coffee shops, restaurants and supermarkets and just a short cab ride away (10 euros) is Rethymno. Would highly recommend ❤️
This villa met and far exceeded our expectations - it was by far the best villa accommodation any of us had ever stayed in. The facilities were superb, even down to a wine fridge in the kitchen, and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Our hosts, George and family, epitomised Greek hospitality, greeting us with homemade dishes and groceries already in the fridge - especially welcome as we arrived late in the evening. Our two teenagers loved the pool and the facilities. The location is perfect for exploring the west and south of the island, and taverns and supermarkets are just a few metres away. All in all, we recommend this villa highly and are already planning our next trip back.
