Stayed in Yacinthos for three weeks recently, and it was a fantastic stay. Felt very welcome in the apartments and even had a free upgrade. Room facilities were brilliant and cleaning was very up to standard. Highly recommend!

Although the hotel is situated a few hundred metres eastwards from the venetian harbour, its location is perfect for those who wish to avoid the hustle and bustle of Rethymnon and yet within walking distance from what would attract a visitor. This is important because Rethymnon's noises in the evening and at night, especially during the high season, can spoil a holiday. Among the other advantages of the hotel are: a) the friendly, educated and polite family who runs the hotel, b) the cosy, feel-at-home swimmimig pool, c) the home made breakfast served in the room, d) the feeling of privacy, which often lacks in all kinds of hotels. The only possible drawback is the position of the single beds in the maisonette (along the wall), probably because of the big ladder that takes up much space. Another point of attention is the waves at the beach, which can be really dangerous when the wind is relatively high -this is a general feature of the long Rethymnon beach. The quiteness of the room is what a visitor needs after a tiring day of travelling, sightseeing and swimming -you don't usually go to Rethymnon in order to stay in a hotel room, anyway! To the calmness of the place has contributed the exceptional care of the owner about the profile of the guests. who Because the sea view room I had asked for was not available, I was given a 50 qm maisonette as a compensation at no extra cost! Special moments to remember: the extra towels brought to the room by the owner in person, so that the children would enjoy the swimming pool as long as they wished and the juices along with the "raki" (local alcohol drink) offered by her at the pool. All in all, it has been a joyful experience.

this hotel is a good combination of price and quality! I stayed here in september 2012 for 6 days. We arrived after a long flight to be greeted by friendly staff and we were escorted to a air-conditioned two-storey room.it was very amazing!

We were on Crete the second time. It is the third hotel where we lived.
It was the most bad hotel if to compare to others:
1) The hotel staff is a Proprietress, for which this business - a hobby, instead of work.
2) Proprietress speaks Greek and French Only.
3) Rooms on the first and second floors don't have a ventilation, except a window.
4) At windows there is no Net. Result - you the donor of blood for mosquitoes, which always is too much.
5) Room cleaned once in two days. Floors washed once in three days.
6) The Breakfast very poor (an instant coffee, sugar, raw eggs (!), bread, butter, jam, olives).
7) 7 days never changed bed-clothes!
8) In hotel two-three rooms for tourists. In other rooms there live the Greek seasonal workers.
9) The Greek workers have fun till 2:00 a.m.
10) Small pool which at all did not clean (at the bottom were plaster and leaves).
11) The Hotel is on a crossroad. Constant noise all night long.

Yacinthos Hotel at Rethimnon has it all!, it's 2 minutes from the beach, close to few supermarkets, a lot of restaurants and not far from the city(30-40 minutes walk, 5 minutes by car if you'll find parking).
The Yacinthos has a small nice pool, one which we've used for relaxation and fun.
It has a lovely couple that run the place Babis(hope this is how you write it) and his sweet wife(sorry for not asking your name, but we love you :).
The rooms are clean(we had 2) and has everything you'll need if you want to self make your meals and save money on restaurants.
They also serve Breakfast(price not included) which we found as one of the richest we've got at an hotel from that type.
The breakfast included Tea, Filter Coffee, Milk,2-3 Jams, bread, few sweets(cakes etc.) and a very nice once. they served boiled eggs,Gouda Cheese(or similar), Sausage and more.
they even offered the kids hot chocolate.
We had a very nice 6 days staying at the Yacinthos Hotel and we sure recommend any one who consider to stay in Rethimnon to try the place.
Babis also recommended up few restaurants at the era, one that we visit twice was Zisi's(6 minutes drive from the hotel or 15 minutes walk) nice food at a very nice prices.
and they speak English if you wondered.

Very clean, very good service, breakfast worth getting up for ☺
Nice room, gorgeous swimming pool, spotless place, the only slight downside is some noise from outside traffic but not enough to break your sleep. Very friendly and helpful staff. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Would gladly stay there again.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my life, but this hotel is like a small miracle. It is quiet, clean and the staff is extraordinary welcoming and generous. The breakfast is with fresh orangejuice, warm sandwiches, homemade marmelade and delicous pastry. They come at you door with fresh fruits and they gives you the feeling of being at home. The poolarea is small, but very nice. it is 25 meters to the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean. This is like home away from home :-)

Were travelling in July 2018 in the company of 3 friends, booked appartment with 1 double bed and 1 single.
We were highly surprised with the space of the room, meanwhile it was very cozy.
Administration guys were very nice, hospitable and friendly. We caught a feeling that have visited old friends.
The hotel is located in quiet place, 2 minutes from the beach, 5 minutes from huge supermarket.

We will definitely recommend this hotel!

We stayed here from July 15-23, 2015. The best part of the hotel was the excellent recommendations from Babis. He knows the island very well. Ask him for beaches to see and he will also tell you a great place to stop and eat. Some of our best meals in Crete were eaten in small villages on the advice from Babis.
The hotel is your typical Greek island accommodation. The bathrooms are tiny with no shelving to keep toiletries. There are only 2 parking spots for the hotel, parking WILL be a problem if hotel is booked and in high season. Rooms are clean and practical, nothing fancy.
Hotel is very close to beach and many restaurants. It is a very far walk into town but a cheap taxi ride (3-4€).
Would recommend this hotel for families traveling with children.

We stayed here for a week at the end of June and were really happy with everything. The location was great for us, 50m to the beach but up a side road so quiet and not busy with traffic. It is about a 30 minute walk to rethymnon town, or there is a local bus behind the hotel every 20 mins. The room was presented nicely, large bed, sofa, tv, air con and kitchen area with a sink and all the cooking utensils needed to stay self catered, also a balcony which was nice to eat breakfast on. The pool was a good size as there aren't many apartments in the complex, but we didn't use it too often as the beach was so convenient. Lastly the staff were really helpful, one of the owners was on the front desk most of the time and whenever we walked past, the first thing he always asked was 'is everything alright with your room?' He also have us some great recommendations for restaurants for dinner. Overall the apartment was great value for money, and we would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a simple stay in Crete.
