The pool was very nice and warm. The kitchen was poorly equipped. Forget about parking space. But in general we had a good stay. The staff and the location were also very nice for our needs. Near the beach.
Stayed in Yacinthos for three weeks recently, and it was a fantastic stay. Felt very welcome in the apartments and even had a free upgrade. Room facilities were brilliant and cleaning was very up to standard. Highly recommend!
Great apartment, the best location, almost on the beach and near good restaurants like our personal favorite "Vatania" on the next corner. The apartment was great, super clean and very spacious. Were visited as a couple but it could easely house four or five guests. Chapeau to the cleaning ladies, during a daily! cleaning they supplied us daily with fresh towels and fresh bedlinen every second day. The staff was amazing and very helpfull, giving us great advice for daytrips and where to find amazing restaurants serving real local, traditional food. They sure contributed to make our stay a very pleasant one. We did not use the the great looking poolarea as the beach was only two minutes away. All in all we had a great time at the Yacintos and if we ever visit Crete again this is by far the number one on my list.…
The place has not good location. Noise goes in from the busy street. Our room was downstairs at the basement. It smelled mold, aircondition had a bad odor also and did not worked properly. In general place was not enough clean. When I complained about the place and problems manager was very rude to me.
The apartment was well equipped, very clean and quiet. Sheets and towels were changed every few days and the rooms were cleaned daily. The pool was lovely and sunbeds were free. The sandy beach was just across the road and had lifeguards. There were plenty of local places to eat with high-quality food. The walk into the old town took 30 minutes along the beach front, but the taxi rank was very close and taxis were cheap and plentiful. The owner Babis and his assistant Anastasia were extremely friendly and helpful. Babis even let us use a room to shower in after we had checked out, as we had a late flight. We would certainly stay there again! Thank you Babis and Anastasia.
We had a wonderful week in this beautiful family run hotel. The hotel is tastefully decorated with beautiful pool and reception areas and is only a stone’s throw form the beach. Restaurants and super markets also very close. The rooms too are tastefully decorated with excellent (quiet) air conditioning and fridge, induction hob and coffee maker. The owners were excellent hosts and gave us so many really good recommendations for restaurants and day trips. Exceptional value for money will definitely return.
Very clean apartments close to the beach.Extremely friendly owners. Very good value.Lots of restaurants nearby and about 1.5 miles from Rethymnon harbour (taxi 6 euros). Supermarket and bus to town close by.
There was an issue with our room on the first night so we had to stay in the economy room which I wouldn't recommend (a bit too basic and no TV!) but to make up for it they upgraded us for the remainder of our stay. Rooms are a little dated but have everything you need and are cleaned daily, our shower was pretty small though. The staff (especially the manager) are extremely friendly and speak very good English. The pool is nice with new sunbeds and umbrellas however there were a lot of ants whilst we were there. Location wise it's excellent - literally 30 seconds from the beach, shops and restaurants and about a 30 minute walk to the main town.
First of all, need to say that Yacinthos Apartments have really high rating here (on tripadvisor) and on Booking. This is the reason, why we have chosen these apartments as an accommodation during our stay in Rethymnon. However, not everything as good as it was said in reviews. Let's begin with positive points: - Apartments are really close to the beach (2 minutes away but not the first line); - The hotel was recently renovated; - Really low price comparing to other places; - Fully equipped kitchen (plates, cups, cutlery, kettle and etc); - Free air conditioning; - Quite big balconies; - Nice and helpful administration (if needed, they can call a taxi from the airport in advance, so in this case you will pay 85 euros). A few more things about the beach: Yacinthos does not have sunbeds on the beach, so you will need either to stay on the sand or pay for municipal sunbeds and umbrellas (prices may vary). The beach itself is sandy but when coming into the sea -there is a thin line of shingle, which is ok when the sea is calm. In case there are huge waves - it won't be that easy to swim. Additionally, apartaments don't provide guests with beach towels (this is ok but please note this point). Now, let's proceed to cons: - Internet is too laggy (however, after visiting Crete many times, I got used to this as this is really common issue); - Although there is a quite nice and deep pool, the water in it is muddy. Not sure, how often it is being cleaned; - No safe boxes in the cheapest rooms. Please pay attention to this! - However, the WORST THING was the bathroom and this is what actually made our experience in this hotel quite negative (all the photos will be attached). > The shower had a really short protective glass, which caused water to be EVERYWHERE on the floor. Our floor-towel was always wet and disgusting and despite this fact - it was not changed every day, meaning that cleaning woman just put it outside on the balcony to dry up which would NEVER HAPPEN. Either change the towel every day or change the protective glass. > There was MOULD in the bathroom - both on the walls and floor. This is unacceptable even for such a low price. > No shelf in the shower meaning that there is no place to put your shampoo or shower gel except the mouldy floor (isn't that nice?). > The shower head hanger is placed to low (at the height of the hips) and additionally this hanger is too big for the shower head which causes shower head fall again and again. > No soap dispenser on the sink, no glass for the toothbrush. > The bathroom does not have any conditioning, it's just a box with no air. Also, one day, when we were coming back from the beach, the cleaning lady was preparing the room near us and we noticed that it was MUCH better - the room was not as empty as our was, it was better furnished and felt more friendly. Additionally, the bathroom was completely different and it did not have moulds. So we can draw the conclusions that it is a lottery - which room you will have (mouldy or not). As a tip for the room - I would not recommend staying on the first floor around the pool as it is TOO noisy. Some people were swimming till midnight and they were very loud. Regarding the breakfast - it does not worth 7.50 euro/person. You'd better visit Irini cafe right around the corner - it has better options for the breakfast and you will enjoy nice sea view. Generally, I would recommend these apartaments only in case you're on budget or have not the cheapest room. Otherwise I recommend staying in Aristea Apartaments, which are much better but just a little bit more expensive.…
We spent 10 days in August 2018 and it was amazing. The family rooms, has one double, a single and a couch, were always clean... the room service came and changed all the sheets and towels and cleaned every day. There is a small kitchen that is very helpful for cooking a fast meal. It has a beach view and also when opening the door there is the amazing pool in the center of the complex. The city is around 3 Km but it’s a taxi ride of 4 euros. Shops and restaurants are plenty and very close. The beach is a 20 meters, which for families it is a must since the children wanting to go back is less than 30 seconds.
