The hotel is quite far from Heraklion airport so we booked a taxi via the hotel which cost 120Euros each way. The journey time was about 1hr and 20 mins but I think it was worth it as other people said that tour operator shuttle buses took a lot longer.
We arrived late evening and checked in and went straight into the restaurant.
The choice of food was very good on par with cruise ship buffet meals. We only had breakfast once during our stay as we went to the gym first thing and then ate at the outside taverna by the pool. The choice there in the taverna was not vast but it suited us.
Evening meals were very good with plenty of choice even for dessert. There was quite a wide range of food offered and even the fussiest of eaters would be able to find something here. Beer and wines were on tap to help yourself to, one type of beer and red, white and rose wine which were of good quality, you could buy better wines but you dont need to. We stayed for 2 weeks and not many dishes were repeated which was good.
The gym was good , you have to book a slot at reception.
Pool/beach towels are supplied and can be exchanged every 3 days at the spa downstairs. We did not use the spa so I cant comment on this.
The hotel is right on the beach where there are parasols and sun loungers supplied for free. The sea was wonderful. There are plenty of parasols and loungers both on the beach and by the pool.
I didnt realise when I booked that the hotel was popular with families and because school holidays were finished most of the children there were pre school age. This didnt bother us as I think without the children it would have been too quiet! There are adult only areas both in the restaurant and in the lobby area.
The animation team work very hard and I did try a couple of stretching classes. They ask if you want to join in but dont pester you. You also see them around the hotel during the evening which I have never seen at other hotels.
The one thing we liked about this hotel was the food definitely and location but also the fact that there are not many British people that go there. We only saw 1 family the first week and we heard that there were another couple there the 2nd week!
I dont think any British tour operator goes there.
My tip would be to book a sea view room as the view is lovely but if I went again I would just book a mountain view. The rooms are not luxurious but have everything you need.
The hotel is very clean and the staff never stop and are very attentive.
If you want good food then give it a try but just be aware that there are likely to be small children around!

The rooms, the restaurant and the entire Inn are spotlessly clean, everything is regularly cleaned. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, whether it be room service, front desk team, or bar and restaurant staff. Special thanks to Maria, who is very professional, welcoming and always available to answer your questions. She speaks fluent French and can organize anything you need.
The Inn has three other restaurants, accessible by Reservation and open only in the evening: a varied restaurant, a Greek restaurant and a Chinese restaurant. We tested the Greek restaurant, which was very nice.
The beach is superb and spacious, with clean and almost crystal clear water. There are always enough chairs and umbrellas, provided you do not arrive too late. The nearby beach bar is perfect for drinking throughout the day. There is also a children's pool with many games and a large pirate ship, as well as a 1m40 swimming pool with sea views and a snack bar open almost all day.
An entertainment team offers Things to do during the day, as well as evening shows and musicians to relax in the evening, with a piano bar or artists and singers.
In summary, we had a wonderful holiday and our children also feasted. Thank you to the whole Pension team for their excellent service. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends.
There are 2 pools, a large children's pool with slides and a large pool for everyone. We never had a problem getting a sunbed by the pool or on the beach, no need for getting up at 6am to put your towel down, in fact there are signs telling you it is not allowed.
The staff in this hotel are great from the reception staff who deal with your queries on the spot, to the cleaners. The food is excellent with a wide variety everyday, there is something for everyone and no problem getting a table There are also 3 bookable restaurants available, we tried all 3 and they also were very good.
The animation team were brilliant, in fact the best I have encountered. Involving you in activities if you wanted to join in, making you feel very welcomed, but leaving you alone if you just wanted to chill by the pool. They also put on very good evening shows and there were also outside acts on some nights.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and would return. Thank you for a great holiday.
In May this year we booked the same three apartments, because they were spacious, with a mini-kitchen, side by side on the ground floor, with terrace and direct access to the beach. About ten days before our arrival, we are told a problem of "double booking" and a downgrading to rooms on the floor, much smaller (four was more camping than hotel) and less convenient with family. After many discussions at the check-in, we got a separate room for teenagers and return to an apartment for a family. We did not have an explanation of the criteria for choosing the downgraded, including the date of booking.
A pellet of this size should have been the subject of a strong commercial gesture. We were offered a free "spa" (it's good for 3 to 76 years old) and an "à la carte" meal (it's good in Crete). At the check-out, new bitter discussion, paltry reduction of 25 euros, bringing the room-apartment difference to 50 euros for 4 nights.
All this completely ruined a stay that might otherwise have been good.
The location is a bit isolated to visit the beautiful beaches of the island, while Ierapetra is very nice to visit.
Overall we had a great time in this hotel and spent 4 days relaxing.

The staff was attentive and extremely kind. Maria, the front office manager is a Gem!
The rooms are very comfortable, clean and modern.
The Food is amazing! Been so many times on crete in different hotels, but I have never experienced such a brilliant kitchen full of local tasty dishes! There is always something for everyone as the choice is amazingly wide. Fish, seafood, and others. Amazing!!!
The beach is pebbly-sandy, but the sea is crystal clear. Good for swimming and usually calm.
Animation for kids and adults is great.
The southern most city of Europe- Ierapetra is in reach of the hotel, within a walking distance. You can see the Napoleon’s house, the old mosque, have a frappe at the seashore… and many many more…
The hotel area is not so big, which is bad and it was almost crowded in the afternoon especially beside the pools. The water temperature in pools was low I suppose because it was cold, especially the wind always blows there.
I should also say thanks to the hotel administration for upgrading our room, as well as for birthday cakes and more.
