What a fantastic family holiday week we just had at Petra Mare (2 adults, 2 kids: ages 2 and 6). We were here 5 years ago and very glad we came back. Big shout to the simply superb animation team so expertly run by Federico. They really made the trip special for us – they do such a brilliant job, working tirelessly to keep everyone entertained all day and night. We don’t usually get so much involved in such organised activities on these holidays but we just couldn’t help get up and stuck in with all the various fun activities and games. The kids were always asking when mini-club was going to start in the mornings and afternoons and they simply wouldn’t miss the hour long mini-disco every night at 8:30 PM. Well done guys, the kids loved you all! The food at the hotel was a very high standard. Because of COVID, we needed to wear mask and gloves in the food areas but it wasn’t such a pain. Our room (308) comfortably accommodated us all and the sea view was stunning. Fast free Wi-fi signal seems to work throughout the hotel. The beach is nice and sandy but we had very high winds so preferred to spend most of the time by the pool. We did manage to leave the hotel one day to walk into the nearby historic town, Ierapetra and that was a very nice walk but got cut short as the kids were moaning they wanted to go back to the mini club! All the other hotel staff were so very friendly. Stefanos at reception, Constantine and Vladis by the pool and a whole heap of others whose names I sadly can’t quite recall. We miss you and the hotel so much already and already thinking about when we might return. 1 week wasn’t enough!…
Great hotel, nice clean rooms, good food, nice gym and wellness/spa area (I can recommend massage with Jekaterina). Good for families with children (cool animators and big pool for children). Calm area, good for evening walks.
Astonishing view from the window, pools, sea with amazing colours, comfortable rooms all is there. But biggest treasure of this hotel are people working there. They are beautiful, open-heart people. Your kids will have grate care and lots of fun in kids club and on mini disco. There is also plenty of fun activities for adults prepare by entertainment team, so everyone will find something for themselves. Hospitality manager Stefanos is always glad to help you with any problem at all. All people working are doing their best so you could have amazing holidays and I’m very thankful for that.
Petra Mare hotel is OK hotel but I really think it needs a proper overhauling: The interior (design, furniture, etc) is outdated and seems to partly be from 70's. Rooms: Could need an update... But clean, and well maintained. An why is there NO (not a single one!) TV-channel on English. Dozens of channels with german and Polish(?) channels! :-( There are quite few free(!) English news channels available!! Pleaste take action, it's not that hard as You have international guests!!! Food: OK, and some dishes are always with local (Greece) seasoning. Lack of spices is sometimes spoiling a great dish. Pity. Pool: Good, clean and quite spaceous with plenty of sunbeds. Excellent areas for children and youngsters. A big plus for that! Beach: Well... Not as big as You could think from pictures. Some areas has rocks and big concrete slabs under water. But still, plenty of sunbeds to choose from and cleand and well kept.…
