We received a welcome even warmer than the Cretan sun from Konstantinos and Anna at reception with welcome drinks, cold wipes, had our luggage disinfected, and a caddy ride up to our room with fruit and champagne awaiting us in front of a beautiful view of the Libyan sea and the city of Ierapetra on the right

The rooms have a very comfortable bed, great air conditioning, are well stocked with toiletries including dental and shaving kits, and there is good Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and even on the beach. Cleaning of the room, sheets, towels and pool is done daily to a high standard. Very high quality facilities which is expected since it only opened about 2 months ago

However it is the staff that set this hotel apart with everyone exceptionally professional and friendly. Giavos, Manos, Efi, Elafaria and Ageelka to name but a few will make sure your every need is catered to during breakfast and dinner, all under the watchful eye of Kristos and Spearos. The menus are varied and delicious with Greek, Cretan, BBQ, Italian, Fish and Mexican days offering an extensive buffet. Although the salt levels can be hit and miss sometimes.

The bar upstairs has Remeetra and Spiro ensuring you are not sitting too long without a drink, with some nice entertainment with piano vocals on Tuesdays and a saxophone DJ on Thursdays.

Some minor improvements could be a stocked mini fridge or availability to buy snacks such as potato chips, nuts, chocolate bars at the bar/room service

Overall this was an exceptional stay in every regard, in large part due to the high quality staff of the Enorme Santana. I hope the hotel and management are aware of the great assets they have in their staff and reward them accordingly!

5/5. Recommended.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel, we had a 'superior swim up room with a shared pool' which had a great view of Irapetra for sunsets. I would recommend this type of room as the one to get, you can see several 'private pool' rooms as you walk around the hotel, and although these sound better on paper, they are not as good. Some are very exposed to people walking past and there is also not enough room next to them for two proper sunbeds (they only have bean bag style seats). Our room had two sunbeds.

Breakfast and dinner were included (buffet) and while the food was, on the whole, good I think it is important to note that the restaurant does not have a great atmosphere. It is not big enough to seat the whole hotel (when full) in one go so there were two sittings when we were there (6:30 - 7:45 & 7:45 - 9). If you are after a romantic evening meal with your partner this is not the place, it is quite hectic (with people getting up and down for food) and (if seated near the buffet) the lights are so bright it is too much. You also feel quite rushed, which is often the case with buffets. Getting a seat outside is more preferable if you are able to but they are limited. If you want a romantic dinner and some atmosphere I would recommend going into town, we had two excellent meals at Zorba's (25-30 min walk of 6 euro cab).

When the hotel is full (as it was when we were there) depending on the time you get to breakfast you may need to wait for a table, which is annoying.

Simply the best hotel to relax and unwind.
We were looking for a nice relaxing place to stay, and we found it all at Enorme Santanna.
The hotel is just perfect. The facility, pools, cleanness, staff, food all 10/10
The staff is the heart of this hotel. Everyone was amicable, welcoming you with a smile every day.
It is very rare to see everyone smiling and welcoming you every day that it makes me think there is a great work atmosphere.
I hope that managers recognize the value of their employees as they are truly wonderful people.
We have enjoyed our stay so much. I don’t need to say much more as the pictures describe it all.
My only comments would be regarding the SPA.
The location next to the gym with treatment rooms so close to the SPA reception is not ideal as you hear all voices from outside, so it is not possible to fully relax.
Also, I felt that this place was more like a massage room than a Spa as there is no sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and all other things that true Spa is offering.
However, besides that, the massage was done very professionally.

The hotel complex is beautifully laid out, the rooms are individually arranged and the buffet food is good in terms of both choice and quality.

Unfortunately, there are also unpleasant aspects: We had booked a room with our own pool. Due to strong winds, this was relatively quickly contaminated by leaves, hair and other rubbish that was blown in by the wind. The pool was not cleaned during our entire stay. That was pretty disgusting. We could have had it cleaned for a fee. If I book a room with a pool, I expect it to be kept in a usable condition for the duration of the stay, free of charge - after all, we paid for the room including the pool.

We practically had to beg at reception for fresh pool towels. The late checkout (on our wedding day), which we had requested long in advance, was not possible and would have cost €50 for 2 hours.

Unfortunately, the service in the restaurant was also extremely inattentive. Drinks often came after the main course, and sometimes we had to take plates away ourselves because the staff didn't take care of it even after waiting 15 minutes. It was similar at breakfast, coffee often didn't arrive until we were halfway finished. Cappuccino is chargeable, but we weren't told about it when we ordered.

Overall, it's a shame because the hotel has more potential and the things mentioned above could have been avoided with little effort. But we won't be coming back.

The hotel positively surprises with its modern architecture so that everyone can find a place for themselves. The view from the rooms is breathtaking; you can see the sea and the mountains. Additionally, we recommend swim up rooms with a pool shared by several rooms, and most importantly, with beautiful views. But all this is nothing because the biggest advantage of this hotel is the quality of service on the level of hotels' branches like Ikos or Four Seasons. Great food and service at the bar. Breakfast and dinner are in the form of a buffet, and everyone can find something for themselves.

We've chosen this resort as first half of our honeymoon trip and if we had to choose again, it would be the same. What an amazing place, with amazing people, above and beyond level of service and amazing food.

We arrived a little-bit exhausted du to long travel, but already the welcoming energy of the hotel staff and exceptional check-in process has immediately filled us with positive energy.

The personnel of this hotel is far above expected, always smiling, and helpful; although wearing full-protective covid gear (mask, latex hand gloves) also outside in the burning Crete sun. The breakfast and dinner services was various and delicious; I especially enjoyed short discussions with kitchen staff on what was offered that day. Thank you again for feeding me to full every day! :D

Hotel is new, positioned on a quite peaceful location and is a good starting point for various road trips around.

We loved every second here and you helped us to create many beautiful memories. Thank you!

Tine

The Enormous Santanna Beach Hotel offers an optimal basis for a special holiday. The culinary offer is very rich and offers something for every taste. In addition to a rich breakfast in the morning, waiting in the evening changing dishes. The food is mostly signposted. There is also a good range of vegetarian options. The variety of (changing) traditional dishes is also great!
Also worth mentioning is the friendly staff. Those are numerous In the restaurant area present and take care of beverage requests, Have an eye for the cleanliness of the seats And always make sure that Am Buffet is always refilled.

The hotel is very well maintained and clean overall, the rooms are cleaned daily. Daily there is a bottle of water for the minibar.

We took advantage of the massage offer in the hotel. Here we each received 15 minutes extra for a massage of our choice. Maria made sure that we felt very comfortable during the Cretan massage. Absolutely recommended, who wants to add something to the feel-good!

We stayed at the hotel for 7 days and we can recommend it to everyone. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. There are many activities that you can use at the hotel, e.g. fitness, spa etc. The beach is very beautiful, it is not a sandy beach but it is very clean and the sea is very clear and you cannot cut yourself on the large stone slabs. The food is excellent and very authentic. We would recommend this hotel at any time.

I ordered superior room and got room number 204 who was nothing like the photos of superior rooms the resort website published. The front desk wasn’t helpful and said all the superior rooms are fully booked so either pay extra money for upgrade room or leave and got your money back (Im not in my country and got nowhere to go). Very disappointing. Not recommend

Good afternoon from Crete! At first we would like to thank you very much for taking the time to post your comments in public! Yet, we are a little shocked by the details concerning our staff especially and the assistance provided, given that we always try our best to fulfill all guests wishes and preferences Further to our cross check, your room was indeed a Superior room, that has plenty of space and sitting area. As you can understand, though, the photos that are uploaded are samples of the style in the majority of every room type since it is not possible to photo-shoot every room of the hotel. We feel sorry that we did not manage to fulfill your expectations but still we hope that you will give us the chance to accommodate you in the future! We wish you health and prosperity Kind regards, Yianna Aretini Enorme Hotels Secretary

I can not tell you how highly I rated this hotel. Facilities are excellent, but the stand out thing for me was the quality of the staff, nothing seemed like too much of a bother. A perfect example of that was the young lad who went 2 miles into town to fetch cigarettes for me (and seemed genuinely shocked that I gave him a tip for doing so.)

You can measure a hotel by many different criteria - I’ve stayed in hotels with better facilities, in more prime locations, with better views, with a more unique feel etc etc - but I’ve never stayed in a hotel that is minimum 9/10 in every criteria you can use to measure it.

I hope the management realise what an asset they have in their staff. I can’t remember everyone’s names, but if you read this review Manos, Effi, Daniela and many more do a fantastic job of representing your brand!

I will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic place to stay in southern Crete.
