This was a great hotel. The location was perfect. It was in the heart of the city, yet it was quiet and around the corner from some more local restaurants too. The room was large, great shower and nice and quiet. Super breakfast buffet too. I would definitely stay here again if

The hotel is in a central location and offers a nice sea view from its balconies. However, the rooms are old and poorly insulated. I could hear the neighbor watching TV all the time. Overall, it's a bit overpriced for what it's actually worth.

Once you get in you feel the hotel is well established. You always find someone smiling and helpful in the reception. Take a room with a sea view. The room is big enough and have everything you need( there’s a safe, minibar and hair dryer)

Amazing staff--daughter and father. The daughter held a parking space until I could pull my car around to park. She let us check in a bit early and gave us cold drinks while we waited for them to make up the rooms. We had an large oceanside room with a large bathroom and great

This hotel is an amazing value. The location is really perfect. Fantastic views of the harbor and walking distance to many places in the center. It is clean and simple, works perfectly as a place to rest and have as a base while visiting the city and going on tours. The staff

Dear Traveller, Thank you for contacting us. Our hotel is a (max.) 20-minute walk to the ferry terminal. Public transportation is rather frequent and convenient, both within the city and also between cities and villages of the island. For instance, Heraklion to Chania is a 3 hours bus ride. Buses run every hour, starting at 05.30. There are plenty of beaches around the island, many of them accessible by bus, others by car. Please check the "Cretan Beaches" website or even their mobile app for more details and suggestions about beaches: It often comes in handy even to me as a local, since you find beaches of Crete per prefecture, according to the sea water color & depth, sand type (sand, pebble etc.) and -most importantly- accessibility (bus, car, boat etc). I see you're spending four or five days on the island, so depending on what you want to focus on (e.g. stick to one prefecture and see the city, archeological sites and beaches or try to see a few things all around the island) you may need to rent a car. If so, you can search yourselves to see some prices/ offers, but we can also provide you with some suggestions, if you wish to. It's true you save some time driving long distances (e.g. Heraklion-Chania is a 3-hour bus ride, while it's 2h15min by car). If you were to spend a week or more in Crete, you could use just the buses. However, if you want to visit more places in 5 days, you could rent a car or use both; rent a car for a 2-3 days to make long drives shorter and for 1-2 days use the buses for shorter distances (that take 15-35 minutes from Heraklion). That was just a few info to start with, but please feel free to ask us more questions and details in order to plan your holiday. We remain at your disposal. Looking forward to hear from you. Dear Madam, Hello again! We do have some parking place for the cars of our guests; it's actually enough for 3 or 4 cars. In case it's full, parking is allowed on two of the 3 streets around the hotel (Mitsotaki & Monis Agkarathou). Last option is a nearby parking lot (across the street) for 4 euros per day. In any case, please contact our front desk upon your arrival to help you with parking. We will be more than willing to help you! Always at your disposal. P.S. My apologies for the delayed response, but I missed the notification for a question on Tripadvisor. :-) On behalf of Kronos Hotel Maria Tsagkaraki

Hi.. I'm visiting in August and thinking I'll probably need air-con. What's the charge per night? Thanks.
Dear Madam, Thank you for your message. Air-condition use is already included in the room rate. Summer can get pretty hot in Crete, so of course you may use it during your stay! We remain at your disposal. Kind regards On behalf of the Kronos Hotel team Maria Tsagkaraki

it is about 15 minutes by taxi. or, you can take a local bus, which also takes about 15 minutes. the bus stop at the airport is across the parking lot from the departure area of the airport. get off at the lion fountain stop, then walk north. it is an easy 10 minute walk, if you only have a single rolling suitcase.
