Hotel Marin, with its main objective of highlighting the Cretan hospitality and the professionalism of its staff, has become a favorite place of stay, whose history dates back to 1979. The hotel belongs to the luxurious category of accommodation and has 44 rooms next to the small Venetian harbor of Heraklion, a number of them with beautiful views of the Cretan Sea. We have been renovated in 2021 and we have decorated our rooms with discreet simplicity in order to create a relaxed and pleasant environment for our guests. We would like also to welcome you to Heraklion city which the vibrant center and the biggest cretan port are only a few steps away from the hotel. The magnificent view of the harbour and the famous fortress of Koule impresses all who have the privilege to enjoy from one of our fine Sea View rooms or from our restaurant Gazebo, where you can choose to for a complimentary breakfast or a casual meal during the day. The relaxed environment and friendly atmosphere prevails throughout the year makes the Marin hotel an excellent choice for your stay in our city. We belong in the luxurious category and we stay open all the year. We will be delighted to meet you in person in your next trip!

We spent on night just to visit the museum the next day. The hotel was at a perfect place to visit the museum and the center of the town. The staff are charming and attentive. The rooms are good, the cleanliness and the management of the Covid-19 is perfect. They overlook the harbor, which is very pleasant.

Fine hotel, very well located (view on the harbour, short walk to bus station A, near city centre) with good rooms. Bathroom a little tight but doable, wifi quality can vary. All in all a good place to stay though.

The hotel is handy to the historical sites of Heraklion as well as some good eateries. However, rooms are small and showers almost impossible for taller people. The saving grace of this hotel is the superb views from the top floor breakfast room. The breakfast spread was adequate. I'd stay again for a one night stand but not for a longer holiday

I had a single room so it was small. Pretty small. But it had a firm but comfortable bed... no metal frames poking you. Bathroom had updated fixtures, and was clean. Shower had nice hot water and plenty of water pressure. It is close to the parking garage in case you rent a car. Its close to the port so its easy to find. The people were polite. The restaurant at the top is enclosed so there isnt the wind you will get at the open air cafes. Didn't eat dinner there but had breakfast every day. Good coffee.

Good, clean and friendly hotel conveniently located for the town centre and the port. 10 minutes by taxi from the airport. Reasonable prices. Only criticism is that we booked directly with the hotel whose website clearly states that by doing so, you can expect a bottle of wine and basket of fruit in your room on arrival. We didn’t get that and reception staff just shrugged when this was pointed out!

Mixed reviews about this hotel. The positives: It is located in a perfect location near the harbor, bus station leading to Knossos, overlooks the Venetian Fortress and minutes from the old city center. Clean rooms and friendly and helpful English speaking staff. The negatives: minuscule room and bathroom which you needed to pump the toilet to get it to flush. Large breakfast selection but foods not tasty and over cooked. Dinners were included with our booking and were of a pre-set menu with no choice. Dinners had been precooked and then reheated. One was served tepid with overcooked vegetables, a second was served cold and overcooked, and the third was served hot but we practically needed a power saw to cut into the pork chop. Try not to have a dinner included reservation or just skip it and eat elsewhere.
