Excellent location, although the street looks a bit unpreposing, the hotel is in the perfect place to see everything in the city easily. The room was modern, clean with a stylish bathroom. The breakfast provided had a wide range of options both cooked and continental.

This hotel may be on the corner of 2 narrow streets but incredibly close to town centre. Just walk one block then through a small park and there. Rooms recently renovated and very nice. Breakfast adequate.

We came to the Kastro at short notice as we weren’t happy in our resort hotel and I’m so pleased we did. We had a good sized room with a huge bed, fridge, balcony and adequate wardrobe and counter top space. We had a look at the roof top terrace and thought it would be a lovely space to relax, but we just didn’t get the time during our short stay. The staff recommended some restaurants very close to the hotel and both were excellent with delicious food and great atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent too, there was everything I could think of: proper fresh orange juice, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, toast, bread rolls, sliced ham and cheese, local cheese, sausage/bacon/eggs, tea/coffee. All fresh and great quality. The hotel is close to the Historical Museum, the Natural History museum and the fortress. About 10 min walk to the Archaeological museum. There are taxis near the fortress and it’s 14E to Knossos or to the airport. The staff were very helpful answering questions and we were able to store luggage on our last day after checking out, and use the toilet facilities in reception before heading to the airport. Thoroughly recommend the place.

The hotel is in an excellent location to explore Iraklion. There is a good restaurant, called Xayiati, directly opposite serving delicious Greek food and there is a wide choice of restaurants in the city centre a short walk away. The rooms were modern, spacious and comfortable with plenty of electric sockets and a kettle to make hot drinks. The breakfast was very good. There was lots of choice. The food was set out to allow social distancing and gloves and hand sanitiser were provided. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was a car park a few metres away which the hotel has a special arrangement with so that guests pay a discounted rate.

Great location to everything we wanted to see and do in Heraklion. The staff are very warm, friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and immaculately clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast is ample with a variety of items (cereals, Cretan rusk with feta, tomatoes and green peppers, bacon, sausage, hard boiled eggs, fresh orange juice, coffee, yogurts, breads). We highly recommend this hotel. There is free parking on the street, which is quite busy and often full of parked cars. The hotel has 2 spots in front, which may be available.

The hotel is located at the city center, a few meters walk from everything. The people were very kind and helpful. The rooms are quite big, very clean and have everything someone would need. Breakfast offered was much above what expected from a 3 stars hotel. The price was very attractive.

Staff make the hotel experience and this boutique has great staff, even opening my store-bought wine bottle so I can enjoy it on the rooftop, helping with the local buses and local places to eat, to delivering my Greek coffee. Above & beyond. The hotel has a good location so you can reach the main areas and sites quickly. The rooms are modern, stylish and clean, there are even positive messages on the ceiling. The rooftop is a great spot to relax, don’t expect impressive views but do enjoy it with a glass of wine before bed. Breakfast buffet was fulsome, and the orange was great enough to make it into this review lol.
