Welcome to Agioklima (honey-suckle), an old traditional Cretan house with full facilities in a traditional village in the heart of Crete. The Agioklima traditional houses are restored village houses on the edge of the traditional village Petrokefalo, looking over the beautiful valley towards Pendamodi, Kroussonas and on the north towards Heraklion and the Cretan sea. The Cretan traditional houses are separated in fully equipped 40-70 m2 traditional apartments for 2-4 persons with stone fire places and basic kitchen. I stayed in Nikis houses twice for several months while I was working in Heraklion close to ITE/FORTH, and since then I've returned twice with my family for summer holidays. The houses are equipped with all you need (including free Wifi) and Niki always does her best to make your stay a pleasant one. Add this to the great views towards the Psiloritis mountains and the sea, and you've got a place that you'll always want to return to.

Excellent hostess who guided us to the apartment late at night. Accommodation was well fitted out as a traditional village dwelling with modern amenities. The apartment benefited from a large balcony with excellent, elevated views, over the surrounding countryside. You can just about squeeze your car through the narrow village streets to find the car parking associated with the property.

My family and i stayed in two houses with an adjoining courtyard. This was a magical place. Not for you if you want excitement and all mod cons! Our Room was big and airy with a balcony overlooking olive grove and mountains. Air conditioning was by having windows open and letting the cool breeze in. The little courtyard was a lovely place for us to get together in the evenings and enjoy our dinner and a glass of wine. This village is like going back to the 1950s, narrow unmade up roads, and charming old houses. The bathroom is fairly basic, but adequate, we had no problems once we became used to a shower half way up the wall. We had two single beds. The room was decorated with bits and pieces of shells and driftwood, and outside in the courtyard was a 'wind chime' or hanging made of driftwood. Cats and their kittens roamed about, all friendly and we loved their company. All day the noise of crickets chirped, and we were fascinated to watch them climb the trees. The owner of the property was a delightful lady, and really helpful with whatever we might need. So, if you want to get away from it all this is the place. On Sunday morning we could hear the Mass from the church across the valley in the next village. What a good start to our holiday in Crete and Greece
