Travelers' Choice
The dramatic views of the Venetian fortress at the old city harbor of Heraklion, and the wonder-filled waves of the Cretan Sea, are among the most photographed tourist attractions on Crete island. Not many visitors can enjoy the full panoramic grandeur of these contemplative landscapes, the way our guests at Lato Boutique Hotel can.Standing for more than 35 years above the marina, our hotel operates 365 days a year without interruptions. Famous for authentic Cretan hospitality, Lato Boutique Hotel is the most welcoming establishment in this part of the city, a magnet for romantic couples, but also for families, and business travelers. Being at the center of the old Heraklion town, the peaceful and colorful central market is only a few steps away. The museums, the Venetian harbor with the fishing boats and the yacht marina, the parks, the gardens, the city cafes and all ancient Heraklion lays at the foot of our front doorstep, your front doorstep.

My stay at Lato Boutique was comfortable and it was an excellent location with a view of the picturesque harbor. There were great sunset views from the room although I was rarely in the room at sunset. The hotel staff were attentive and helpful. The breakfast was standard for Greece with plentiful options. I found the décor of the hotel dark and gloomy. They were going for an artsy vibe but it wasn't particularly appealing to me. Dark and cold -- e.g. all the floors were concrete -- the bathroom in the spa felt like a prison cell. I'm sure this was done deliberately because everything was in nice repair -- just not my preference in styling.

We stayed at the Lato for the first time having felt that the service at the Galaxy Hotel had deteriorated. we were not disappointed . we paid 90 euro for a city view room which wasa in the annexe over the road from the hotel main building and reception. the room was funky and modern. there were raki and sweet pastries left in the room. it was clean and we were not disturbed by other guests. the breakfast was good with a good range of foods. the best thing of course was the orange juicer. would definitely stay again

I stayed here for 4 nights with my brother - we both had junior suites, although one was much nicer. Room 303 was lovely, but two tiny balconies (can be difficult to get onto with a table and two chairs on each) which didn't get any sun. 504 has an amazing rooftop balcony so for the same price i would recommend trying to stay in this one instead! Having said that, the views from both were great overlooking the port and fortress. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard. The complimentary greek snacks and Raki delivered to the room after we checked in also went down well, as well as the spa voucher which unfortunately we didn't have time to use. The breakfast was great, a wide selection of both hot and cold foods. Their restaurant was

My family and I spent 2 nights at the Lato Boutique Hotel. It was a nice 2 days - the hotel is extremely close to the City Center and walking distance to everything. It also had the best breakfast spread of all the hotels we stayed at during our Greece trip. The staff was excellent - helped us book an excellent private tour of the eastern region of Agio Nicolas, Elounda, Plaka, and Spanilonga Island. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Stunning views over the Venetian port and fortress, particularly from the junior suite on 5th floor an the Herbs garden restaurant. The location of the hotel is close to the centre of Heraklion, easily accessible to the sightseeing hop-on-hop-off bus tour, restaurants, shops and travel agents. Food in the Restaurant was wonderful, and the breakfast was exceptional, ample supply of both cooked and Cretan style breakfast. Hotel rooms were clean and well maintained, staff were both warm and welcoming, with a good level of English. Staff were able to help with tours and airport/port transfers I would highly recommend the hotel for those wishing to explore Heraklion, and the rest of Crete, engaging in the food, history and culture. Heraklion is not a place for a beach holiday, and
