This hotel has a lot to offer. Beautiful gardens. Amazing views. Spectacular sunrise. The most fantastic, friendly staff. I’m not good with names but a special thank you to Albert and Thalia from the pool bar, Costas and Rena from reception and the lovely maid who cleaned our room. We stayed for 2 weeks on a b&b basis. We had room 69, (originally given 88 but this was not for us) which afforded us amazing sea views, in daylight. The room could do with a few tweaks. Shower could be in a better position and a light above the kettle wouldn’t go amiss. The bed was very comfortable. Bedding and towels changed regularly. Breakfast was a mix of cooked and continental. Not the best breakfast we’ve had but we didn’t go hungry. The downside for us was the distance from Elounda. We’re not averse to walking but it was a minimum of 1.1 miles - 2.5 miles to walk for our evening meal. The road wasn’t the best either. It was very dark, local drivers were aware people might be walking but others drove like idiots. A taxi from the square in Elounda cost €9. We chose this option some evenings. HB is an option. We could have had evening meal for €25 pp. Night time entertainment is a no no. There’s a disco on a Saturday night but nothing else during our stay. If you want to do nothing but chill in amazing surroundings this could be the place for you. As much as we prefer quieter locations, this was a bit too quiet for us. If I could make a recommendation, it would be to provide a shuttle bus to Elounda.…
Had a lovely relaxing week at Ilion hotel. Stayed in a bungalow on a half board basis, lovely room and fantastic views. Hotel is very clean and staff are very friendly. You can walk to Elounda in approx 20 minutes and Agios Nikolaos is a 10 min taxi journey, both worth a visit. There is a small shop close to the hotel. Would recommend the hotel and would stay here again.
Had a week of total relaxation, we only boarded breakfast, which was fresh and well presented, if you want to unwind in a little piece of paradise I would recommend, we stayed in superior bungalow and our view was amazing,
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Elounda Ilion. Every aspect of the hotel was perfect. The location and views are idyllic, the cleanliness and housekeeping staff could not be faulted and the gardens were pretty and well maintained. The food was varied and always delicious everyone in our party could find something they really enjoyed each evening even the vegans and children. All the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful in every way. Thank you so much we will see you next year already booked up.
Arrived on the 3rd September to a beautiful hotel will amazing views out over Elounda Bay with Spinalonga in the distance. Stayed bed and breakfast with plenty of choices on offer. Lovely pool and plenty of sun beds around, great day time pool bar staff Vasiliki and Thania and in the evenings for pre or after dinner drinks Simos and Elbert! Nothing was every any trouble from all four of them, made to feel really welcome and a delight to talk too. Rooms are great we had a garden room with beautiful purples and pink flowers around. We loved it that much that we have booked to come back next year, this time opting for a room with a balcony to get more of that view either in the morning Sun rise or to see all the lights witnin the bay in an evening. A very well presented hotel clean and endearing people who are lovely to get to know… Throughly enjoyed our stay here. Sam and Nick.. Room 5…
My partner and I stayed here for 10 days in June. Upon arrival after a 5 hour delay in the early hours in the morning, at Stansted Airport, we were greeted by the most friendliest receptionist and he carried our bags to our room. Excellent first impression . The Morning all of the staff were excellent. Made some new friends as well. Christos, Vasilliki and Simos made our holiday. Attention to detail, always friendly and made our holiday as if we were VIP'S Vasaliki and Simos ran the pool bar and always had my very cold Mythos ready for me as soon as they saw me. Many a night we drank together and had a great time. I had a drink with the owners of the hotel and made new friends. Good food , good Location, good value for money... Definitely going again next year but this time booking direct with the hotel not as a holiday package.…
Loved this Hotel and its Staff. Set on a reasonably steep hill and a good 30 min walk into Elounda, so as said before, not ideal for those with mobility difficulties. However I do have, and if its a relaxing, lazy days by the pool you are looking for then this Hotel is perfect. The views are stunning all around. Half Board stay and cannot complain about anything Food wise. Breakfast fully loaded Hot and cold Buffet with heaps of choice. Lots of salad and fresh fruit. Evening meal was always something different and good. We had bungalow 15. A couple of sets of stairs to pool, but worth it. Lovely bright and clean Room (see pictures) Serviced and clean towels everyday We enjoyed days by the pool, where the staff are amazing. Especially Thalia and her girls. She is an absolute joy and nothing is too much trouble. She works so hard with a smile all day! We spent a couple of nights away at Ag.Nik and were welcomed back here with a smile. …
Location: The hotel is in a wonderful semi secluded location next door to three other larger hotels. And we were in room 80 at the bottom of the hotel drive, it felt like our own apartment! The gardens are beautiful with Bougainville flowers growing everywhere. As I write this I am sat on the terrace above the verandah looking at the view and typing. This is the hotel for you if you want far reaching views of Elounda bay which stretch all the way to the edge of Schisms and you can just make put the peninsula where you will find remains of the sunken city olous. If you want to catch the bus to ag.nik or Elounta then it is a bit of a climb up a hill behind the hotel which leads to a large, busy main road. For ag. Nik cross road and stand at hut. About 3,60 euros for two on single ticket. It takes 40 mins to walk to Elounta but you can catch a taxi for 9euro. The hotel: On a slight incline and if your room is at the bottom it will take up to a minute to get to the very top of the hotel where the pool and bar area are. It is stunning!!! Olive trees and gardens make this place unbelievably breathtaking. There is only one main pool. One bar. One restaurant. The food each night is varied and a large bottle of water is around 4.50. wine was from 5 euros a glass. Soft drinks about 3 euros. The cakes are yummy and there are different lil pasties at breakfast and dinner. Lots of delicious desserts!!! The staff: Theo and Andreas and Giannis you are all true gents. And to the gentleman on reception you were excellent and thirty five years in the tourist industry is a milestone! Thank you Andreas and Giannis for the drinks and to Theo for offering us good and carrying out bags to the hotel room. The domestic staff are so kind they brought our washing in and laid it on the bed when they made up our rooms. The manager was always around in the evening and morning if she was needed. All in all the staff including the very talented gardeners keep this place looking special. We don't often return to the same place twice but we will certainly return! Goodbye and thank you for an amazing holiday…
Just returned from a 10 night stay, hotel is amazing, views from the pool and restaurant are the best I have seen. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble Stayed half board and the food was very good. Be aware this hotel is set on the side of a hill, if you have any walking or mobility problems this is not the place for you but this has been noted in previous reviews. The hotel is a bit remote it is a 20-30 minute walk to the town centre or you can get in a taxi which costs £9 euros. There are plenty of bars and restaurants which are all around the beach and harbour. This hotel is an absolute gem, if you want a quiet relaxing holiday this is highly recommended.
This hotel is great value for money with some of the best staff you can get, very efficient room service/cleaning and good waiting staff. The waiting staff smile and interact with the guests and are very attentive and prompt both taking your order and delivering it. We went half board and booked with JET 2 holidays UK but you can travel and book independently. The town is a 20 minute walk but is full of bars and restaurants. You can get a boat ride from there to the tourist site of Spinalonga. The guest come from various EU countries.
