This hotel is amazing, right from the moment we arrived, Victoria was waiting for us with a welcome drink. Our bags were taken straight to our room. We were upgraded to a modern deluxe ground-floor room with a garden that overlooked the sea and pool area. The staff are very helpful. Nicholas took us on a buggy tour on the first morning to help us get our bearings. He was very helpful in advising us of places to visit during our trip. Victoria recommended the fish restaurant to use the 30 E credit. We both had tasty food, I had the Seabass risotto and my daughter had the prawn pasta, very filling meals in a beautiful setting overlooking the bay. The food in the main restaurant was excellent with a huge array of puddings. Christina manages a tight group of staff who again are all very professional and attentive. The bay has an abundance of fish so we enjoyed a daily snorkel. There are plenty of sunbeds. The walk into Elounda is around 10 minutes which is full of lovely bars and restaurants. We had a super relaxing break and were sad to leave.

Another relaxing stay at our favourite hotel in Crete. As always, the manager and staff of the Elounda Bay hotel ensured our holiday was excellent. The location with beautiful beaches and gardens is second to none and the accommodation and food were as good as ever.

The hotel is very clean and the views beautiful, however, we have been returning for 4 years and our last visit left us feeling a little underwhelmed with the service and value for money. Beach staff when serving drinks very rarely smiled and behaved as if they didn’t want to be there and everything was too much trouble. I even had a member of the dining team roll their eyes at me because i got confused giving my room number. This has never happened on previous stays, not sure what has changed. The rooms were very clean although tired in their appearance. Housekeeping staff were amazing. Food delicious, it’s the other things for me that don’t make it a five star experience.

Very relaxing stay . Superb beach area, large pool and general amenities including tennis courts and some water sports . The beach is very nice , crystal clear warm water. The hotel is linked to Elounda Beach Hotel next door and you can book their A La carte restaurants , using your half board discount if you wish . The breakfast is good but the evening buffet is average .The hotel staff are very nice and helpful. If I booked to stay again I would try to go B&B and eat in the evening in Elounda at the seaside tavernas which are very good. Overall a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

Dear Patrick, Thank you for taking the time to review Elounda Bay Palace and for posting this gorgeous photo which shows the amazing view from your room and the relaxing vibe of our grounds. We see that everything was up to your satisfaction and it looks like you got pretty busy doing all sorts of activities around the resort. Even though we feel that our evening buffet is superb, we accept your feedback as the gastronomy tastes of every person are different. Please do book a different basis on your next stay and try the astonishing restaurants at our sister hotel Elounda Beach who would be happy to have you. We are definitely looking forward to seeing you again and delivering the best of our services at our charming hotel. Warm Regards, Dimitris Theodoroglakis General Manager

We choose Elounda Bay to wind down after the hectic marriage of our son. On our first day we arrived at 10pm and were advised that the main restaurant closes at 9.15pm, but some sandwiches were proved in our room. First impressions were good....the hotel has an impressive tree lined entrance with a large lobby. It's best to summarize the remainder of our stay as follows: Positives: - The staff were very friendly and eager to please at all times - The views were stunning from the main restaurant which looked directly into the sea. - The breakfast time extended to 10.30 which suited us as we like to have a lie in. The breakfast choices were quite good. - There was a reasonable variety of food at Dinner. Negatives: - We have traveled all over the world and cannot honestly give it a 5 star rating (more like a 3.5 Star) - Our room was tired and dated. All the cupboards (including the fridge) had to be forced to close. - The bathroom was cracked in places and the toilet seat had seen better days. The shower looked old and worn out and just about worked properly. - The best thing in the room was the balcony with good views - There are 2 small bay beaches which are ok to swim in. If you are looking for a great beach holiday, then this place is not recommended. - The hotel is half board.....We would advise on not wasting any money in eating at the hotel. The prices are extortionate- for example, order a soft drink at the pool and it will set you back 5Euros, Burger & fries 28 Euros and a beer 9 Euros. We tended to have a heavy breakfast and if necessary visited the local places for lunch at the harbor. There is also a supermarket nearby where we stacked up the fridge with beers and wine. - A message at the sister hotel cost 100Euros(after a 50 Euro discount voucher).....which was nothing special. We had a message at the local palour (Alia) which was much better at 50Euro. - There is nothing much to do at the hotel, apart from the pool/beach. We took a jeep trip via the hotel which was great but the booking office did not have any brochures on any of the trips, although they did provide details printed via google. We also had other day trips using agents just outside the hotel. Conclusion: We will not be rushing back to this hotel any time soon!

Hotel is classified as 5 star, majority of it doesn’t live up to this standard. We had been given a supposedly free up grade from a delux seaveiw room to a swim up bungalow, upgrades seem to be a common occurrence, because most people we spoke to had been upgraded in someway, perhaps so you don’t feel inclined to complain. The room we had was very dated and in need of a refurbishment, it smelt damp, (air freshener plug-in in room I wonder if this was to hide the damp smell) air conditioning not working, which was reported more than once and still not rectified, wallpaper was peeling off wall. The drinks in the hotel were extortionate €4.50 for a bottle of water, which you can get for €0.70 in town a 10 to 15min walk away, beer €9.00 €4.50 in town wine in the restaurant was a minimum of €10 a glass cheapest bottle was about €47. The specialty and lunch restaurants were equally expensive €20 for a tomato and lettuce salad. I feel this left the bars with no atmosphere, as most people went into Elounda rather than pay these prices. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the maids/restaurant staff. We were on holiday to celebrate our anniversary and unfortunately the guest service manager completely ruined the day with his inconsiderate actions. I feel the more you complain the better treatment you receive. I will definitely not be paying a return visit to this hotel.

Dear Tony Thank you for choosing Elounda Bay Palace for your summer vacation. I regret to have read your comment and It is a pity that we never met in person to discuss your problems The issues faced during your stay were mentioned beforehand, nevertheless the upgrade to your room was made thanks to your reservation in order your stay to become more satisfying and special. The cake and the prosecco were offered for the same reason also. The guest service manager reported to me the incident with the room near yours and I strongly believe that he handled it very professionally. Our aim is to take care of all our guests and provide them with the best hospitality. Private space is very important. Regarding our prices, they remain at the same levels as the other hotels in the area of Elounda. For your information, the cheapest bottle in our wine list costs 24 euros and not 47 as you commented in your review. I would also like to thank you for your good words towards our team members who are always willing to assist alongside their warm Cretan hospitality traits, providing a 5-star service to every single guest. I believe that the wording of your review is unfair and I really wish you could redefine your thoughts on all aspects mentioned. Kind Regards, Dimitris Theodoroglakis General Manager

We have travelled to Elounda Bay Palace for a number of years and this is the first time we have been disappointed and felt the hotel wasn’t value for money. The play areas were broken and unsafe for our 8 month grandson. The accommodation is starting to look tired and the staff just didn’t look happy and this was reflected in the service. The gym equipment was damaged with the rowing machine ‘out of order’. The sauna and spa was closed for the entire fortnight of our visit. The prices have increased by approx 25% from last year. A 75cl bottle of sparkling water will set you back 7euros at dinner. We have always had lunch at one of the restaurants but this year chose not to with the cost of a Caesar salad about 22euro (for a bowl of lettuce!). The entertainment at the sail bar was a piano lady who played the same tunes each day. We knew the running order by the end of the holiday. Lovely views but just not value for money anymore.

Dear Jashep Thank you for choosing Elounda Bay Palace for another summer vacation and we regret to hear that this time it has not been fully up to your expectations. Regarding the playground, when something needs repairing, the technical department is on standby to maintain it. As for our F&B prices, they remain at the same level as the other hotels in the area of Elounda. The spa is located at the building of Elounda Beach Hotel and it is never closed and you simply need to book your appointment. But we can understand your feelings towards the closed sauna. Sometimes when it comes to repairing, some facilities may stay out of service. As far as our Team Members are concerned, it is certain that they are undoubtfully happy that's why they have been working with us for years. It would be a delight seeing you again and making your next holiday a better one. Kind regards, Dimitris Theodoroglakis General Manager
