The only golf-and-spa resort on Crete is a whole world on its own, with the "World's Best Spa" according to the Sunday Times' "Travel" magazine. Rooms and suites have panoramic views Mirabello Bay over the green expanse of the golf course's 9 holes. Children are particularly well catered for, with a dedicated facility offering indoor and outdoor play areas, a lawn-laid olive-grove, a water-park and a sports field.

Amazing Hotel All Staff helpful and happy Rooms clean and cleaned every day. Breakfast was very very good (Omelettes Especially)and plenty of it covering all nationalities. Large complex but transport by sea or by road always on hand. Restaurants a little expensive but to be expected as 5 star hotel. Private beach swimming pool and hot tub and pool area managed well towels provided and no hassle for sun beds . All in all we had a fantastic week and if not for missing our dogs would have stayed another Highly recommended

We've spent a full week at this hotel, came especially for the golf course and a hopefully relaxed holidays. The golf course experience was good, very decent price and challenging enough course for a teenage beginner . Relaxation has pros and cons alike. First of all I was suprised by the huge number of babies and toddlers in the resort. This made breakfast ,beach and most of the restaurants at dinner very noisy and hectic. We've been in various turkish all incluive resorts were children were 50 times more, but there we are talking about huge spaces , at least half a dozen restaurants and so on. Room was ok, service was good and consistent throughout the resort . A special mention to the beach service in the Elounda Villas area , and for Nikos , the breakfast restaurant manager. The only downside of the stay was the lack of a minimal entertainment , music was so low as non existent, the hotel bar was very unwelcoming and open only during evenings , but completely empty and the so called DJ-nights at the restaurants (Il Borro and Sumosan) were a bad joke of a so called entertainment.

Dear Guest Thank you for choosing Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort for your recent stay, for your very good rating and for your excellent comments regarding the service and the golf course. It makes us happy to read that overall you had a nice holiday with us. Regarding your concerns, it is true that in July and August the resort is very popular with families with young children. The main reason for that is the fact that the main beach, and the pools are all in one area making the whole experience very convenient for parents. Rest assured that we are looking into creating toddler free zones for 2024, as we do have in some of our restaurants and we are sorry that this was not communicated to you correctly. Regarding entertainment, we are sorry it was not communicated to you that we organise every Monday a “Cretan night” with live music and traditional dances, every Tuesday the “Cuban night” , every Wednesday “OPA night” that follows the Greek tradition of smashing plates and every Friday the Fish night all of them with live music. For 2024 we are working on new ideas and concepts for the evening entertainment. Wishing you a great autumn and looking forward to welcoming you back at Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort. Best Regards Ilias Ilias S.Kokotos Marketing Director

This hotel has so much to offer. Almost all the staff deserve high praise for being so incredibly helpful, welcoming and friendly, from Reception and breakfast staff to the smiling cleaning ladies and junior pool/ beach staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast buffet is superb with an excellent selection of various foods , very fresh and delicious. Fantastic facilities for children with a wonderful kiddies pool and so close to the beach and stunning bay. Our Grandchildren had the best time. Our room and our Daughters room who was with her young family both came with problems. Spotlessly clean and spacious but a little tired and dated. Over the bath showers in the large bathrooms. We both moved rooms because the air conditioning wasn’t working hardly at all resulting in stiflingly hot rooms. The systems were also very noisy. Our room was next to the lift which was also noisy and kept us awake. The rooms we moved to were better, our Daughter was upgraded to a pool suite which had been refurbished and was lovely. Our new room which all have stunning sea views by the way still had very noisy air con but did at least work. Our biggest moan though was the 6.30 am scramble for sun beds. We arrived at the beach at 9am to find virtually every sun bed draped in towels with guests belongings on them. These same guests then often don’t turn up till midday or later. As we needed two parasols for three small children and four adults we decided we had to play the same game. Rising at 6am , which is far from what you want or need when on what is meant to be a relaxing holiday and costing a lot of money and when you lead very busy day to day lives. Arriving at the beach though what did we see ?, only the pool/ beach employee so so kindly bringing from his hut so many guests belongings and placing them on the sun beds. Towels, Lilos, books, beach bags full of stuff were placed on the sun beds . This we witnessed daily. This did actually spoil what could otherwise have been a perfect holiday.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for staying at Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort, for taking the time to review the hotel and for your excellent comments regarding our staff, kids facilities, the beach area and in general the resort. Regarding the issue you mentioned with the sun beds:One of the biggest advantages of the property is that there are enough sun beds for all guests, even when the resort runs with 100% occupancy. Of course, as you understand it is not possible for all of them being located on the first or second line, but because of the layout of the beach and the pool they all have a nice view and easy access to the sea. As you understand, there is nothing we can do if a guest decides to leave his belongings on a sun bed before breakfast, and after your review we made sure that none of the members of our staff would ever accept booking sun beds on behalf of guests. We look forward to welcoming you back to Porto Elounda, and please keep in mind that the whole team of the resort is always ready to discuss and resolve ay issue you may have during your stay. Kind Regards Ilias Ilias S.Kokotos Marketing Director

I was very impressed with the 6 Senses Spa at Porto Elounda. It provides a calm, serene space in which to relax and unwind , replete with an indoor/outdoor infinity pool which overlooks the sea, and an authentic, beautifully decorated Hamam with marble fountains. The receptionists are attentive and professional , the therapists extremely well trained. Ely, the Spa manager, is a jewel ! Suraj Varma, the Ayurvedic practitioner is exceptional !!!

This is a classic and sad example of a hotel that has really tired with age, lost focus on service and ensuring the guest experience remains no 1 and above all and most sadly looks to charge you at every possible opportunity to the point it feels like extortion. Some really important things for anyone with family thinking of booking here. So here are my top 10 considerations. 1. “The football camp” really has nothing to do with Valencia, it’s only available for 1 hr per day depending on kids age and for the rest of the day they lock the astro and demand 32Euro for you to take it!! Like most, we don’t have a family big enough to play a game alone so it seems incredible they look to nickel and dime kids just wanting to play with other boys and girls and leave it for parents to pay for other kids keen to play. 2. The restaurants are massively expensive, 18 euros for a margarita pizza and anything with toppings 30 euros plus and the food is at best average. 3. The bedrooms are of a good size but be prepared that the decor is quite tired. 6/10 standard. 4. If you are getting a taxi ( group of 7*) prepare for an extra 200 euro charge each way 5. Beach bar badly under-serviced and with poor cocktails that are not hand made and priced at 14 euro plus in plastic cups 6. Soft drinks - bottles of coke are decanted and split into cups, so you end up paying for a 330ml drink but paid for a 500ml bottle they then serve to someone else. 7. Breakfast is definitely the highlight and can’t have any complaints so feed up in the morning! 8. Water sports really good, but mega pricey as you would expect of most. 9. Italian restaurant it’s pretty ok but staff are poor, lack attentiveness and feels hard to tip them with a manager that appears less keen on customers 10. Teens play room everything is charged, pool tables, football tables all 2euro a game so again the hotel seems like it wants to empty you for everything. Overall wouldn’t recommend this place largely on value for money, and would suggest IKOS as a far more superior hotel and all inclusive where you know you won’t get ripped off as soon as you arrive.

Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to review Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort and for your excellent comments regarding your room, breakfast and the water sport center of the hotel. Please allow us to clarify some important points of your review that may mislead the readers of this website. First of all, allow us to say that it is unfair to compare a hotel that operates on bed & breakfast basis with an all inclusive property, since the business model is different. An example of this is the holiday of your family (2 adults and 2 kids 14 y.o and 12 y.o) that booked for 5 nights a one bedroom suite with individual pool at Porto Elounda. The cost of accommodation, on bed & breakfast basis with us, was 3460€ plus your extras (food, drinks and transfers). For the exact same holiday, at the all inclusive hotel you mention in your review you would have paid 18.800€! So we are sure you would agree that “it is not all about the extras” but it is all about the final bill. Regarding , The Soccer Academy is a an official Valencia Soccer School Camp, and it operates in the exactly same way it does in every other resort. It provides lessons for 2 hours per day and also it is open every day from 10:00 to 11:00 am and from 18:00 to 19:00 pm for kids and adults that just want to play, with the supervision of the coach for health and safety reasons. We are really sorry you don't mention this in your review, since you used the complimentary session several times during your stay. Finally, Il Borro Tuscan Bistro,The Ferragamo dining concept, is the only internationally branded Italian restaurant in Greece, that also operates in London, Dubai, Tuscany and Florence. We can assure you that the prices are very competitive to any other 5 star Italian restaurant in a Mediterranean resort. Also please keep in mind that all guests have the option to book the dine around selective program with 50€ per adult and 25€ per kid and dine for free in 4 a la carte restaurants of the resort. So with 750€ , for the 5 nights of your stay, your family would have the choice to dine with no extra cost. Thank you once again for giving us the opportunity to reply to your review and we look forward to welcoming you back. Best Regards Nikos Kallergis Hotel Manager

It’s a very nice place, Water sports rental place is fun, Yellow machines are awesome Kids ark has a water slide. There’s an amazing view from the rooms and the pool is amazing, beach is the clearest water and there is only one danger(sea urchins ). And those live only on the cleanest waters, Property is huge and it’s close to cute villages, Only two downsides, The room wasn’t the best but it wasn’t bad either, And food wasn’t great, people are very nice and the bar has good drinks for kids and adults, All in all we had a wonderful stay here and highly recommend it, Hot tub is very fun but doesn’t work. Water sports rental place is great again, The pool rooms have three beds,

Avoid the rooms above the restaurant (412 +) if you want a good night sleep as the crashing and trolley noises start at 4am. The bedroom rooms are really tired and in need of refurbishment. But - on the plus the location and beach is amazing, and the staff are lovely.

My wife and I stayed here at the end of our honeymoon trip to kick back and relax. We were able to do just that at Porto Elounda with all the amenities on site! We were able to schedule a couples massage with ease, which I highly recommend taking the time do this. Our absolute favorite part of the stay was the wine tasting. My wife and I were expecting a tasting where a few other couples would join, but it turned into a private tasting with the sommelier on staff! He was very knowledgeable and made the experience one that we won't forget. My only complaint, and it was enough to make me rate this a 4 instead of a 5, was that the restaurant options were very expensive in our opinion. The one restaurant we wanted to dine at, the Italian option, was only open for lunch while we were there. We happily paid for a cap into the town of Elounda, ate at some of the best restaurants around town, and got a cab back to the resort for half the price of what a meal would have been. If you don't plan on eating at the resort the entire time, this would be a 5 star location!
