Spent 2 weeks here and loved every moment. Peaceful location and stunning scenery. Chilled low level music at the bar. Apartments are well kept and the proximity to the sea is second to none. Towels and bedding changed regularly and bins emptied daily. All the staff were lovely and Pete who organises the boat trips (also highly recommended) is a font of knowledge and lots of fun. More than enough loungers and lots of shady spaces. Good mix of nationalities as guests. Kitchen facilities fine for making brekkie and lunch but not dinner, but there are so many good value restaurants why bother cooking dinner! Shutters to keep the rooms cool and dark hugely appreciated - best I have ever slept on holiday even with a very firm mattress. Seen the odd comments below about the owner being grumpy and rude occasionally. We didn't experience that. Where I think things go wrong is that the package tours don't make it hugely obvious that the air con is chargeable on top locally and is only free if you book direct thru the hotel's own website. Guests then get grumpy and rude with the owner when its their mistake and not his fault. Read your tcs and cs people! I have no doubt like the many regulars we will be back! Special mention to Soula who works SO hard in the hotel bar and restaurant. She is wonderful and deserves all the tips on the world!

We stayed in Sunrise for 10 nights it's a lovely place with everything you need in your room, our room had a mezzanine with a double bed up there and 2 singles downstairs. Everything was clean. The staff are really helpful Soulia who works 7 days a week is just lovely she seves all the food and is very attentive. The location is great with the views of the ocean and mountains. One thing I will say is we booked a transfer and we were last off from Heraklion so it took 3.5 hours after the 4 hour flight so I wished we would have just paid for our own taxi that would take maybe 90 mins £75 . Coming home was similar our flight was 3pm we were picked up at 9 so missed breakfast and were at the airport for 12 an hour before we could check in. We spent £55 on 3 breakfasts, so if we had got a taxi we could have left at 11.30 and had our breakfast before we left, so it wouldn't have been much more. Lesson learnt for next time xxx

Best apartments we have stayed in in over 30 years of Greek travel. Our apartment has been recently refurbished to an amazing standard. Spacious, very well equipped and great view. Large comfortable double bed (not two singles pushed together) high spec. kitchenette, superb bathroom with walk in shower. The location for us is second to none in the whole resort. Along the small road from the main tourist area making it quiet but extremely easy to walk (5 - 10 minutes) into the main town. There is a nice pool, relaxing / seating / sunbed area. Lovely bar with coveted area that serves the garden plus pool . This has a large covered section in case of bad weather. The bar is really well stocked and has provides food all at extremely reasonable prices. Giannis and his team are brilliant. So friendly and helpful and always a smile. After the last couple of years of uncertain travel it's very pleasing to find such an oasis that is perfect in every way. Would never stay anywhere else in Elounda or Crete for that matter !
