We loved everything about this Hotel!! The location is absolutely stunning and the views from the Beach are breathtaking. The staff are genuine, caring and remember you as if you are a family member. The Food is incredible and the rooms themselves are really relaxing. The perfect holiday and we have booked to return in 2023.
Having visited Elounda on a number of times initially staying at The Blue Palace we first visited Domes of Elounda in 2020 During Covid and lets all be honest it was a very strange and difficult time for not only travellers but also resorts and we had a great time however it was not a real reflection on the Hotel. We then returned in 2021 and got a post-covid experience where the hotel was struggling with staff and the re-openeing but we really like the place so re-booked for 2022 THE KEY for me where Domes excels is they are very honest, they are not perfect and some mistakes do happen but where they excel is they literally bend over backwards to not only fix but exceed any expectations you have and this is a true sign of a well managed resort by the excellent general manager Mr George Kyriakou. SO 2022!!!! - Simply The BEST! We (family of 4) have just returned from our July holiday to Domes and it really is a resort that we have truly fell in love with and probably more the people behind the resort and the resort secondary! The staff at all locations are such friendly , lovely and accommodating people we truly can't thank them all so this is for them all, from the reception and front of house staff (Stella, Maria etc), the buggy boys (Rupen, Sergio), the cleaning staff, the F&B teams, the Hate living team and the staff at each restaurant all greet you with a smile if not a hug as they truly recognise returning gusts as friends! Accomodation The resort has a wide variety of accommodation from single rooms, traditional rooms, villas (small and large) with their own private pools and swim up rooms. We have been fortunate enough to sample the standard rooms, the private villas and the luxury villas and all tick a wide variety of budgets and tastes so there is a wide selection for all! Location Set close to the fishing port of plaka and a 5 minute cab ride to central Elounda it is a truly under commercialised part of Crete that is not spoilt or overfilled with boozy tourists, zero trouble and crime and very very safe for families and romantic couples. There is hundreds of restaurants to visit in Plaka and Elounda if you fancy venturing out, with the best being Kanali, Despina and Moospinners in Elounda, and probably Paliria and Giorgio's in Plaka Dining Blend Inside Domes, you have Blend which is near the large pool and close to the Haute living lounge (all day snacks and drinks) which on a morning is smaller and more chilled for breakfast with a wide selection of continental hot and cold breakfast options. This is run by the AMAZING Anastasios and his team to mention a few of the stars being Vaitsa and Dimitris. On an evening this becomes a luxury bar and grill with a variety of black Angus steaks, fish and lobster all cooked on a traditional Josper grill! Again we want to thank the team here as they go above and beyond to make it an exceptional dining experience especially with a nice local bottle of the Alpha Estate Rose wine! Topos 1910 Simply because this restuanrant has been here since 1910 and set on the private beach of Domes of Elounda with stunning views over the bay and spinalonga it is a fantastic eatery lunch and dinner, it has amazing fresh fish and probably the best mussels I have eaten anywhere in the world! With live music on evenings it is a 5* boutique restaurant with a fine dining menu! The best part of this restaurant is again the staff! Being our old friends Pantelis and Dimitris YAOSAI This is the Asian restart which we managed to sample for the first time and the service and food both was great but for me when in Crete, you eat local and it just wasn't anything compared to the fresh seafood in the other restaurants but it was a welcome change with a lovely elevated position and breath taking views, one to try for sure! Tholos This is the large buffet restaurant which has a huge selection of local and international dishes from breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a high standard and again very well run by the staff and an easy go to for a relaxed evening. Haute Lounge An air conned bliss with Elena, Isabel and Despina accommodating our every need! You can get all day snacks of a high standard, soft drinks, coffee and premium alcoholic drinks in a very chilled setting along with the Haute team who can assist with booking, excursions and any single issue you may have they will fix it with a smile! Location / Grounds The beach is fantastic and probably the best in Elounda , sea is amazing , the main pool is also amazing and as are all of the grounds and it is a clean and spotless accommodation. It has a well equipped outdoor gym with Technogym equipment and amazing views. One thing I would feedback is that the adult only pool is wasted and should be opened up to use for all. Again I hope this review really helps people who want to try Elounda and Crete and I want to assure you this is the place to stay, we are very fortunate to holiday 4-5 times a year and this is global from Europe to Dubai and Domes is now one of our go to stays every year PS @ Maria, im waiting for my rates for next year ;)…
We searched a long time for the ideal place where our entire family could enjoy themselves and spend good quality time together, and we knew it would be hard with a couple with a 1,5 year old! But this is the place !!! We enjoyed the pools and the food there a great deal, and we were pleasantly surprised with the variety of fresh foods. The highlight for our holiday was the kids club service, where our son spent 3 hours a day, enough for us to sunbathe and read our book while he was engaged in age appropriate games in a safe place. Eleni, Doxa and the team at the kids club were very warm and welcoming from the get-go and even though it is not easy for us to let go of the little one, we immediately felt we leave him in good hands and it was quick and easy to build trust with the team. We were in a one bedroom villa with an infinity pool and we really loved the beds the bathroom, the outdoor kitchen and space, and all the thought behind the amenities (eg large shampoo bottles and shampoo for kids) offered and quick room service. The only cons for this wonderful facility we came across is that there is no place for a long walk really, there are hardly pavements outside the hotel to walk anywhere without the risk of getting run over, and within the premises it is all stone paved and can be slippery going downhill or uphill around Domes, let alone doing all that with a buggy. We only noticed because we like walking after dinner so this may not apply to others. What is most important is that we came back rested from this holiday as the staff took really good care of us and the crèche/kids club made a big difference on our experience. I would really recommend it for families with small kids or even teenagers (there is a whole separate play area for teens). See you soon Domes, definitely going back!…
Excellent hotel made even better by the staff. Maria in Dining room was great, plus Julia, Maria and all the buggy boys especially Daniel. Whoever is responsible for staff training is doing a fine job Thanks Clive & Pat Taylor
We stayed at Domes of Elounda for 8 days end of season, and it could not have been a more relaxing holiday. The villa we booked was on top of the resort with amazing views across the bay. The pool and beach are both great areas to relax, and we never had a problem to find loungers for four even though I was told it was fully booked, it never felt crowded anywhere. There is a great choice of restaurants to choose from. But all is topped by the most friendly staff everywhere in the hotel, from reception to bar and restaurant staff or drivers of the carts. The only thing we would suggest is to offer some more entertainment for teenagers, our kids (14 and 11) loved the teens club but it closed at 6pm and there wasn’t a place to meet for kids afterwards. We enjoyed our stay, thanks for the great holiday, we will be back!…
We booked our first family holiday post Covid at Domes. They were very communicative and hospitable before we arrived when we were booking kids club and a few other things. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and this went on the entire stay. We had a few things with our room that needed addressing and they listened and actioned them very quickly. The staff were amazing - Alexia by the pool helped make every day fun, Butterfly who was our maid from Albania, Ioannis in the restaurant, the staff at Kids club and all the guys driving the buggies. Friendliness was effortless and consistent. The hotel is not a family only resort which was nice - we wanted it to feel like a place for adults too. We got upgraded mid stay which was a really nice touch. Food was great and every request was accommodated which was great for a family with 2 young children. The resort is big and spacious so even though it was fully booked - you aren't living on top of the other guests. We loved it and are booked to go back in 2023.…
We went here for a 5 night break and we've never been so impressed than with this place. From the moment we arrived the service was fantastic, from taking our luggage from the taxi to it arriving as if by magic to our room! The welcome drinks and personalised orientation to the resort. We had a 2 bedroom villa with private pool, so didn't use the pool facilities around the complex. It didn't look busy and there was more than enough space to grab yourself a sun lounger, but that could have been the time of year we went. Out villa was amazing, we had private gated access and a magnificent view over the sea. The villa was spacious, more space than we knew what to do with. There was a kitchenette and washing machine just in case you wanted to do your laundry whilst on holiday! I must say that the pool was a lot bigger than we expected and it was nice having your own space without having to share with anyone else. The main bedroom had sliding doors which opened out onto the patio and swimming pool, so that was a nice treat in the morning. There was the main restaurant and a number of other restaurants which you paid for separately. We ate at the fish restaurant by the beach, it was ok but to be honest the standard of the main restaurant was so high it was hard to beat, this included the selection of foods and service. We'd definitely recommend the bar on the beach, the staff really look after you and cater to your needs. Always smiling and willing to chat. Recommend the cocktails! We'd be back and recommend anyone else to visit this resort. …
The location is just perfect. Amazing view of Aegean Sea & spinalonga island. Lovely and kind staff, always helpful. Our room is spacious and cosy. The food is delicious . Calm and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommend it for anyone. Thank you for the lovely experience xx
An amazing hotel with amazing staff. We were looking to have a few days off in order to relax and we chose to visit Domes and we did not regret . A resort of good standards , nice breakfast buffet , amazing views, hardworking staff and super housekeeping. Keep us the hard work guys to keep Greek hospitality in luxurious standards .
This is the second time we stayed here. The first time was in October 2019 and it was just divine. The staff and accommodation was fabulous. Georgia ran the Haute living accommodation and she is a gem! The second time we came back, the price post COVID has doubled and the service was no where near as good. They’ve built more rooms but kept the available services as is. So in summary, our stay was nice enough, we stayed in the new 2 bedroom villas. They are lovely. Sadly the service has declined though so we probably won’t be back!
