Detailed Reviews
A delightful experience all in all. The staff goes above and beyond to be helpful, the room was beautiful and functional and the location could not be better, being located close to everything and yet secluded from the noise of high traffic areas. Couldn't have wished for a better experience.

We were guests for the 5th time in this small, family hotel. We were warmly welcomed again. For us, the hotel is still top: wonderful beds with fine linen and the towels are also of excellent quality. The furniture is made of high-quality materials. Our room is not big, but we know that. The breakfast is super delicious and especially great if you can eat outside in nice weather. So nice to stay with this lovely family.

The Ionas Boutique Hotel was wonderful! The people were lovely, welcoming and very helpful. They organized our rental car for us for a day trip to the beach and our breakfasts each morning were fantastic! So much delicious food and the patio dining is a perfect way to start each day. The ladies made delicious lattes and the room we had was absolutely stunning, like right out of a fairy tale (was the Superior Suite) I had a four post bed and the most lovely little vanity. Taking a bath at the end of a long day of exploring the city, with the top window open to hear to sounds of people chatting and soft live music from the restaurant patios outside made for a wonderfully zen way to get sleepy.
Thank you for a fabulous vacation!

Crete Chania-Ionas boutique htl
10 days ÂŁ2200
Driven to the hotel by LoveHolidays, drop off at hotel no chance, 1/4 mile walk later we found it in an alleyway. Sh%t service.
The hotel well what can I say. More sh%t than I could have wished for.
Top floor no lift don’t book if you don’t like stairs.
Room; on suite Ha, the bathroom door acted as a shower screen so fully open couldn’t swing a cat in it plus the shower handle fell apart.
Room, 1 cupboard no drawers so we lived out of our suitcase.
Reception what reception no one there accept at breakfast that’s it. We where locked out and if we didn’t have our phone to call would have slept on the street. Very poor. No service at all for the whole stay.
I even had to open the door to someone who had just arrived and was knocking on the door to get in. Now that’s bullocks.
No where to relax only your bed and tv, Hoo there is a mosquito room on the 4th floor (boutique) if you can be bothered to climb up there.
The hotel is in a yard with restaurants. If you like noise till 2am then you’re fine!!!!
If you get changed you have to have your curtains shut or the whole street can look in, nice.
If you have bad joints don’t even bother going here, especially if you need help.
When we left it was another 1/4 mile walk in the dark to find the coach pickup. What a joke.
Would I stay here again….. not even if you gave me Gods mob number NO NO And NOOOOO.
Be careful if you book here your wasting your money.

This Boutique Hotel has history and charm!!! It has a fabulous location too! Best of all was Sofiana and her brother! They took our calls at all times, directed us fabulously and booked trips and helped us find great authentic food! They took care of the details, meeting us out in the street when we arrived late, provided beach towels and walking sticks and just an overall welcoming experience. Staying here made us feel like part of the family.

Excellent location in the heart of the old city. If you are looking for a spacious room and amenities, this is not the right place. Buffet breakfast is not an option, lacks basic products such as cereals, croissants, there is no variety of coffees, fruit juices and breads. The hotel needs to refine their offering to improve overall customer's experience.

My wife and I recently celebrated our third anniversary with a week in Chania, and Ionas could not have been a better base for us.
Nestled in the old Turkish district, it is surrounded by amazing restaurants, a short walk to the Venetian Port, and delightfully peaceful even on a Saturday night.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, the included breakfast is both generous and tasty, and the staff bent over backwards to help. Whether it was a restaurant recommendation, booking a tour, or surprising us with complimentary pancakes and French toast for our anniversary, they were exemplary.
We’ll absolutely be back.

A gem of a family run boutique hotel on a quiet, sequestered and charming pedestrianised square ideally located in the old town. The owners and staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are excellent. The square also contains two excellent restaurants both of which are recommended.

This is an excellent choice to experience Chania for several days, before venturing further out. The location in old town brings you back several centuries, especially if you walk around later in the evening. Sofianna and her family and staff provide excellent service with a smile.

Ionas is located in the old town of Chania. Very comfortable room with all amenities. . A generous breakfast is served outside, in a charming alley. The staff is very friendly and helpful especially Sofianna at the reception. Note that reception is not open 24/7 - but till mid-day there is usually someone in. The location is prefect. The old town is made of narrow allies (so no car access) but can be reached by 1 min walk from main road on either side. so you are 4 min walk from the port and all the other attractions in the old town. We used Chania as a base so we stayed there for 4 nights and ventured to other attractions outside of Chania.
