At a very short notice we looked for a nice time in Greece/Crete and took a chance booking this hotel. Our aim was only to get some nice sun and a lazy time. In short, we found it and Achilles Plaza fulfilled and exeeded all our rather low expectations. A spacious room heading north towards the sea/main road/the opposite restaurant. Yes, the road created some noice but having the balcony door closed during the night and the AC on we had no problem with that. On the contrary, normally living in the wild forest we like seeing some livelyhood around. If you would choose rooms heading east or west it will be more quiet but only some trees/buildings/walls to look into.

The hotel has three stars and for sure it lives up to the standards promised. Simple kitchenette, decent furniture and beds with hard matresses as the Greeks want it. Cleaning of rooms and lobby/corridors every day. Pool area including the pool/breakfast restaurant is also in a very good order. The small staff is...

First of all this hotel is located in Stalos about 7 km from Chania town. We stayed in a simply furnished studio, but it was spacious and clean with a small kitchenette and a tiny bathroom with no windows and poor ventilation. The atmosphere at the hotel was friendly and relaxed, and it was very quiet. The other guests were msotly middel-aged or older Scandinavians, and the manager were very friendly and helpful. A nice beach just across the road, several minimarkets, bar and restaurants in the street outside. The hotel also had a small and well maintained pool area and a nice pool bar that also served breakfast and snacks, which we didn`t try. We had a large balcony, but lacked shading so it was unbearable to sit outside morning and noon. The mattresses were extremely hard , and during our one week stay we only had a change of towels and linen once, but he daily cleaning of the rooms was good.
You will have to pay extra for AC and Wifi.
