Inspired by the opulence of Ottoman rule, it is filled with fine antiques, paintings, carpets and porcelain, scents from Marrakech, silks and sweet delicacies from Istanbul.. Stayed here during the summer month but did not write a review until now.
La Maison Ottomaine is surely the first choice to stay in Chania. Located inside the old town, a few minutes walk from the waterfront, on the end of a closed road but readily accessible to everything, excellent location. We were driving a car so we can actually offload our luggage in front of the hotel, a unique feature in the old town.
It is a mansion with 3 distinct bedrooms. We occupied the Constantinople room which is a duplex. The living room and toilet are on the ground floor while the bedroom and bathroom is located upstairs. The whole room is decorated with artifacts with history and good taste. The house itself was built in the Ottoman Empire period hundreds of years ago. I can tell that the neighborhood is mainly residential. Bottled water and kettle is equipped so that we can make some drinks inside the room, in the afternoon, with the complimentary snacks.
Andreas, the owner, kindly provided many restaurants within walking distance. Those restaurants located further south into old town are more likely serving local people, with bigger portion, genuine Cretan and cheaper. Andreas even called to the restaurant to make a reservation for us. Breakfast is provided in the patio, with some order to make dishes you can request to Alex to prepare, or anything you feel like to eat. The breakfast is beautiful and delicious, and very different from a hotel buffet line.
WiFi is strong and steady. Definitely one of my best stay.

Our room was lovely - spacious, charming, airy and filled with characterful objects and imagery. The Ottoman theme is beautifully realised and all fittings and furniture is of a very high standard. The location is excellent and there is much to see and do within walking distance including restaurants, bars, culture, shops and beaches.
Most lovely of all though are the attentions and care of the hosts Andreas and Alex. Nothing is too much trouble, aptly characterised by Andreas’ morning enquiry of ‘now is there anything else we can do to make your day more special?’ Assistance with car hire, reservations for dinner, recommendations for places to see and things to do were all offered and taken. It really made the difference in turning a hastily booked attempt at escaping Covid 19 into a holiday we will treasure and are determined to repeat.
As has been said the breakfasts are lovely with local flavours and a good variety. I waited too long to try the Sfakia pie..
Can not recommend this place enough.

We had the most fabulous stay at La Maison Ottomane and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for tranquil accommodation with excellent service. Andreas was so kind, thoughtful and completely set up to give his guests a brilliant stay and peace of mind as to cleanliness, safety and regulations during the pandemic. Our room was immaculate, beautifully decorated and the location was perfect for sampling all of what Chania has to offer. We’d also recommend trying as much of the breakfast menu as you can!

As charming as Chania is, La Maison Ottomane is the jewel atop the crown. Alex was the perfect host and the room was comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony with a nice view of the sea, peeling and enjoying the fantastic oranges (mentioned to Alex how much I liked the oranges and next thing I know we have a bowl full to enjoy). The waterfall shower was fantastic. I'm not a huge breakfast type, but the french toast was wonderful (and have I mentioned the fresh orange juice?) Location wise, it's a easy walk to the sea front in the old town and being less than 2 tenths of a mile from the harbor meant a much quieter night and better sleep. If our travels brings us back to Chania, this will be the only place we stay.

A home away from home, in the heart of Chania’s old town by the old harbour. The hotel has 3 rooms which are immaculately renovated.
I booked the Aisha room and I loved it. I enjoyed the Ottoman style of the property, from glassware and cutlery to the curtains and throws.
The owners contacted me before my arrival to check what time I was planning on getting to the hotel. It was nice to be able to check in early. I received a very warm welcome with a refreshing drink and was quickly shown to my room. The owner provided very helpful information about my room and property as well as local information. There is an information pack in the room about dining recommendations as well as ideas for activities.
My room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and a sofa by the entrance. There was a double vanity sink behind the bed and a separate shower and toilet on either side of that. Complimentary Apivita bathroom amenities are provided.
There were a number of windows which made the room light. It had a very welcoming and bright feel to it. At the entrance of the room there is also a balcony which was lovely for relaxing.
Breakfast is served in the courtyard. I enjoyed a lovely bread basket, with homemade jams, fruit salad and cereal, along with a choice of a hot option from a menu.
The hotel provides complimentary parking - there are 3 spaces available. The roads leading to the hotel are quite narrow so if hiring a car, you don’t want anything too big.
It was very easy to walk everywhere from the hotel - you are within 5 minutes of any part of the old harbour. Perfect for exploring and getting lost in the city. There are also many dining options to choose from at your doorstep.
I had a very enjoyable stay at Maison Ottoman and would highly recommend it!

This tiny jewel of a hotel is perfection. Three rooms only and the only meal offered is breakfast, but what a breakfast: everything one could want from fresh bread and fruit to Cretan omelettes and local fennel pies. Even bacon and eggs, if you feel you need a more familiar start to your day. The rooms are fully equipped with Nespresso machines and kettles and a minibar filled with all one might want or need. The rooms are furnished beautifully (the owner has an eye for antiques: Syrian ceramic bowls that are filled with flowers, filigreed brass jugs bringing the breakfast milk, pictures, tapestry cushions; I could go on) and the beds are supremely comfortable. There are ample towels and all the thoughtful touches that mark a great hotel as opposed to a good one. If you choose the room with a little terrace you have a view of the glorious blue sea beyond. Andreas, the owner, and his colleague Alexandra Andreas and the wonderful Alexandra preside over everything with warmth, care and the sort of attention to detail
you'd expect in the grandest of grand hotels. They will give advice on where to eat, what to do, what to see, book tables and taxis, as well as
cook and serve those glorious breakfasts. Nothing is too much trouble and we felt our shoulders drop the moment we walked into the courtyard.

We spent 5 nights here in late Oct-early Nov and had a wonderful time. The rooms are beautifully furnished and very comfortable (especially the beds) and quiet, even though it is just a block from the main street and old port area. The courtyard for breakfast is lovely and the service with exquisite antique china and silver plus delicious varying choices excellent. Alex and Andreas are fabulous hosts, providing not only great service but helpful and interesting conversation and information on local activities.

We have just spent a week in beautiful Chania, which was a revelation in itself with its numerous quality restaurants and traffic free old town. This beautiful Hotel is tucked away in a quiet alleyway and is minutes from the harbour and the old town. Alex and Andreas were the most wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble from providing fabulous breakfasts cooked to perfection at your specific request to recommendations to good restaurants and sightseeing advice. The atmospheric rooms were cleaned daily and the pristine linen bedding also changed daily by the effervescent and energetic Alex. We will definitely be back asap.

We spent 6 nights at LMO in September- the first night in Roxelane and the remainder in Aisha. Have now spent time in all three rooms and they are all so unique; beautifully equipped with top class furniture, antiques from around the world and all the creature comforts you could possibly want. Breakfasts are wonderfully varied with a great choice. Hosts Andreas and Alex are superb; from local advice and guidance, restaurant and trip bookings, hire car organising to the genuinely attentive, friendly and professional attention that makes staying at LMO such a pleasure; nothing is too much trouble for them-many thanks, both. There will definitely be a fifth visit!

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights after our daughter was married in Naxos. This B&B was a perfect location from which to explore Chania by foot, and for one day excursions by car on the western half of the island. There also was private parking for the guests which is unheard of in the old section. The setting is intimate with three rooms, and the proprietor, Andreas has decorated the rooms beautifully with art and antiques. His assistant, Alex, is very attentive and kind. The breakfasts are superb, and include homemade jams and marmalades, and omelettes to your specifications. Andreas and Alex have wonderful recommendations for dining and excursions. They arranged a private old city walking tour for us with guide, Sylvia, which was excellent. They also arranged for us to participate in a full day Samaria Gorge excursion (6AM - 9PM), which I highly recommend for those who are fit and interested in moderately strenuous outdoor activity with stunning nature. It’s a 4000 foot descent over approximately 13 kilometers, the first 2000 of which occur during the initial 3 kilometers. I’m still experiencing a little quad and calf soreness as I write this review 48 hours later, but it’s the good kind of soreness accompanied by a sense of satisfaction in having completed the exhilarating trek and justifying my high caloric intake of the wonderful cuisine as we continue to eat and drink our way through Crete. Getting back to the B&B, Andreas is a renaissance man, kind, thoughtful, interesting, multilingual, the consummate innkeeper, and Alex is similarly talented. They made our stay wonderful, their recommendations were impeccable, and I highly recommend this B&B for hopefully a good 3 or 4 day stay in this important and beautiful city.

I do not know whether small children can stay here but I promise they will answer all of your questions very quickly. I suggest asking Andreas or Alexandra. Good luck!
Unfortunately not.
No devi sempre prendere la macchina,ma con 10 minuti si arriva ad una spiaggia veramente carina con un'isoletta di fronte molto caratteristica..chiedi le indicazioni al proprietario che è sempre gentilissimo.
