We booked this last-minute for a one night stay for our family of 6. The hosting family were very friendly and helpful and made our (short) stay superb. The accomodation is everything you'd need (although if staying for a while, the cooking facilities are limited). Lovely shared pool. There is street parking directly outside and a large supermarket next door.... More

A great advantage is the location - very near Chania's port. The building itself was very nice, however the rooms were not that very satisfying. We didn't spend much time inside, so it was ok, however the bathroom was very old and uncomfortable (a bath, not a shower) and the whole room had a very unpleasant smell. It was also... More

I highly recommend Creta Elena, we had a wonderful stay here. From friendliness to cleanliness this is top of my list of places I've stayed. The free extra touches they provide are excellent ie water tea coffee on arrival and lay out of towels and pj's lovely ( small things but add to how you feel welcome as a guest).great... More

We have just returned from Chania having spent a week at the Creta Elena, and we enjoyed it. The owners and staff were very welcoming and delightful, the rooms, bedding and towels were all extremely clean and changed on a daily basis, the air conditioning worked , and the pool and gardens where kept beautiful. We had a really good... More

We have just returned from Chania having spent a week at the Creta Elena, and we loved it. Contrary to some of the reviews on here, we found the owners and staff truly welcoming and delightful, the rooms, bedding and towels were all extremely clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the pool and gardens are beautiful. We had a... More

the worst hotel that exists! dirty, all owners and staff are very inpolite! details: We had 12 rooms reserved for a wedding! Therefore they made us a better price. But when we arrived the prices were a lot higher that originally agreed. Also most of the rooms were extremely dirty (dust everywhere, and smell of sigarettes) and the towels and... More

Perhaps Ozziekath received preferential rates; we would never go back. Two main problems: it is at least 30 minutes walk to the centre of town, and, in July, the owner did not switch on the air-conditioning. His excuses were classic: "It is on" No it isn't. "It is noisy, and disturbs the other guests" Clever, who could complain? When I... More

Being a travel agent, in Australia, for close to 20 years, I was very careful when choosing my accomodation in Chania. In view of the fact that there were 10 of us staying there I had to cater for various age groups and tastes and I assure you this hotel got rave reviews by the whole group. I cannot speak... More
