It was a great experience staying at this hotel. The staff have been incredibly helpful and nice, constantly giving information and recommendations, The towels were changed every day, the view of the area was very good, enough storage speace, they clearly renovated recently (still renovating a section of the building, I think). The buffet was very generous, we only had breakfast there but it was extremely varied. And we received a little parting gift from the hotel (something simple, a small olive oil bottle, some soaps and shower gel, all made by a local company with a heavenly smell!!!) - they said they always offer such gifts to groups. And they were so nice, prepared some sandwiches for us because on the last day we missed breakfast becuase of our flight) If/When I go back to Chania, I will DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again!

Amazing hotel with very friendly staff. Very close to the old town and shopping. The breakfast is good and the air-conditioning is excellent. Unfortunately the rooms aren't soundproof and you can hear music and honking from the street. There was some construction when we were there and we also heard that very well.

Overall a very good hotel. The location makes it even better.

Really nice accommodations right across from the start of the Chania old town pedestrian zone. You are really in the center of things here, and only a few blocks to the harbor and most of the main sites. Very friendly front desk. Great breakfast buffet with just a ton of choices. Nice balcony with a view down the main walk of old town and view of the bay. Comfortable room with elevator.

We wanted to stay outside of old town because we had a car and the hotel advertised it had a parking area. The only complaint I had was about the parking "garage". It is really in the basement of the hotel down a crazy steep incline to the street level with an extremely narrow door to pull onto a fairly busy street. First time I tried to get my car slipped backwards, and had to back up and go up fairly fast (with my wife at the top watching for cars/pedestrians). After that experience I parked on the street! Note there is parking on the square in front of the hotel, but you need to purchase a parking permit the night before so you aren't ticketed.

Still, recommended.

We arrived late in the evening at this centrally located hotel and were warmly greeted and efficiently checked in by a friendly gentleman named Michael.

Our spotlessly clean room was located at the rear of the hotel on the third floor. It was spacious and functional. My only criticism being a lack of storage so much of my clothes remained in our suitcase. My husband told me I had brought too many outfits, but he was wrong. The room had a spacious outside area with table and chairs. It overlooked a quiet back street which was quite magical late in the evening.

Breakfast was served buffet style in a large room on the ground floor. The choices were excellent and plentiful.

We stayed for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Should we venture to Chania again we would not hesitate to choose Arkadi Hotel.

Wonderful accommodating staff. The rooms are updated. They are a little small but with an efficient use of space it works. Lots of choice at breakfast but they do have groups staying and at times the breakfast area was quite busy. Very clean, very nice staff. Half a block from the pedestrian area leading to the harbor.

I stayed here at the Arkadi having stayed here many times before. It’s recently been refurbished and looks and is really great. Comfortable beds, and good shower, etc. Had a room overlooking the square. However it was very noisy at night with a 24/7 bakery open just across the road. I suggest if you stay here to request a room at the back, where I have stayed in the past, and it’s lovely and quiet and has a great view of the mountains. Breakfast at the hotel is really good. Nice helpful staff. Very central and 5 minutes from the bus station, and it’s a great location for the town centre.

My family stayed at the Arkadi Hotel for the period 23-27/4/2019. Staying at this hotel was a unique and unforgettable experience! We stayed in room 512 which was spacious, in very good decorative order, was clean and fully equipped; also, all the equipment in the room was in perfect functional order. Besides, the room was very quiet and had a huge veranda with a nice view. Also, the bed mattresses were very good, a fact that made them conducive to a really restful night's sleep. The bathroom-cum-toilet was fully modernised and a full complement of toiletries was supplied. Furthermore, there was free, very effective Wi-Fi at all places in the hotel.

Arkadi Hotel is strategically located for someone who wants to explore Chania and its surrounding region; it is only 200 metres away from the walls of the old town and the Venetian harbour of Chania; it is about a three-minute walk away from the Chania Sightseeing Tours bus stop and approximately seven minutes on foot away from the town main bus station. Moreover, as Arkadi Hotel is situated at Square 1866, one of the most central squares of Chania, it is surrounded by restaurants, shops, supermarkets and taxi offices.

Booking, check-in and check-out were really hassle-free. At booking time, we asked for a room on the higher floors, a request that was kindly fulfilled by the hotel reservations staff.

Besides, and most importantly, the people at the reception were exceptionally friendly at all times and always eager and effective to help us out on any matter. In fact, the friendliness and professional attitude of these persons made our stay in Chania so much more enjoyable. A big "thank you" to them!

Finally, breakfast was very good offering a wide selection of items, all of which were fresh and tasty.

We recommend the Arkadi Hotel unreservedly and next time we visit Chania it will be our first choice!

Is your hotel and surroundings ok for soemone with walking problems? and are you near beaches?
Answer from William M
Wenatchee, Washington15 contributions4 helpful votes
Hi the hotel is on flat stretch at the top of a little hill. Beaches are not very close. Probably about 15 minutes walking fast to a beach. Chania by the hotel has some wide pedestrian streets that are pretty smooth. The main streets where cars go is busy. It would be a short taxi ride if that is an option. I hope this helps! Safe traveling Will morrison 😎
