The best place to stay in Chania. Location was perfect. In the heart of the city while very easy to get a taxi and walk to with luggage. Idomeneas was very helpful. He waited for us until 9:30 pm : our arrival time to explain about places to visit and he oriented us to the details of apartment. Even more when we checked out he gave us a gift of olive oil, herbs and…. He arranged a very reliable transfer car (George)from Heraklion and we really could rely on him for anything. Breakfast was 5 minutes away in the Center of city infront of Cathedral and the true Cretan breakfast. We really enjoyed our time. The apartment was clean and the cleaner was cleaning our rooms every day! They even provided us towels for beach. I highly recommend this property.

Very nice little family hotel. Stylish old building, fully renovated. Big room, with big windows and balcony, kitchen and all details. Very comfortable bed. In the centre of Chania old town. But the best of all is: - Rena and her sister are extremely kind and useful, you are received as a friend or family, not only as a customer. - And the breakfast is a luxury, gorgeous, with several delicatessen plates.

At arrival we were met by not only a warm welcome from a friendly face but a lovely food taster, water, offer of drink and a long discussion to advise us about not only Chania but also all the rest of our stay in Crete! A wealth of fantastic ideas about where to eat, what to see and do, which we used a lot during our stay. The house is beautifully restored, our room was on the second floor and out (heavy) bags were brought in the room for us (no lift). The bed was comfy, there were tea/coffee making facilities in the room as well as the option of cooking for one selves (we did not use it) and a small fridge, a comfortable sitting area and of course the lovely view from the rooftop. The breakfasts were like none we experienced in the past, a feast, almost a aster menu. 3 course breakfast brought for you by the chef, only from local produces, all origin explained, a feast for the taste, tea and coffee generously given. We staid 2 nights only but would have happily staid longer. We met a couple who had staid there several times and admitted they were coming back for the breakfast. If we ever come again to Chania, I must admit we probably would do the same. Thank you Hanim for an excellent stay.

A really cosy and lovely place in the heart of the old city of Chania. Incredible hospitalty from the hosts, we were greeted welcome late in the evening by one the sisters who owns the place with honey and flavoured water. Breakfast is not included but a gourmet breakfast can be ordered. Don’t miss it, it is delicious!

Very charming hotel in the centre of Chania old town. The staff at the Hanim are all very welcoming, always trying to help and give you the best advice about where to go and eat. My greatest thank you to Irina (please forgive me if I’am confusing names) . We arrived in very hot afternoon, she provided us with water and a delicious traditional kind of pudding that I can’t remember the name, but this was life saver for us. Rooms are a good size, super clean, and the most important to me…… A/C woks, and it was perfect for the hot summer days!

We first stayed at the Hanim in 2019 and loved it - and Chania - so much that our first post-lockdown trip abroad had to be back there. Socrates' four course breakfasts are as good as ever and Rena couldn't be more hopeful in ensuring you have a great time. The staff at the Hanim are all very friendly and helpful. All the comments from my previous review still apply. Large airy quiet air-conditioned rooms with big beds; bars and restaurants right outside your door. lots of interesting individual shops around the harbour and in the numerous little alleyways that make Chania so picturesque. Now money is getting tighter the Hanim is great value too. Hopefully we will be back again before the travel insurance gets too extortionate but we have delightful memories of the Hanim and Rena and Socrates to see us through the English winter. Efcharisto Hanim!

We stayed four nights in Chania at Hanim and we are absolutely amazed by the hospitality of Vrana, Rena and Sokrates - the rooms were big, comfortable and equipped with everything you need - every day, we received valuable advice from Vrana and Rena about where to go and eat and how to best explore Crete - and the breakfast, omg, we never had something like this: Sokrates prepares this every day fresh, four courses, with only local/regional ingredients- super tasty If you want to learn how the real “Crete” feels, go there. Overall, one of the best hotel stays we ever had- thank you so much team, you are awesome.

There is not one thing I would suggest that Hanim should do differently. If there is someone who wishes to conduct an observation on how to perfect the hospitality industry in customer relations, accommodation and also cuisine - they should go to Hanim and copy and paste! The breakfast made by Sokrates was of Michelen Star quality. It was varied each day. Each of the four courses were works of art never mind the incredible taste. The hotel was just off the main strip and was an oasis of calm from the throngs of tourists around the harbour area. The suite was exceptional and the balcony a real bonus. However, the secret of the Hanim Suites is the staff. Never before have we received such wonderful treatment. Rena and Manto could not have been more delightful. Sokrates apart from being a culinary genius is quite a comedian also. We had a few laughs for sure. He. was so knowledgeable about the ingredients he had used and helped us plan some restaurant visits for the next part of our holiday in Thessaloniki which were wonderful. Hanim itself is beside a traditional restaurant of really good quality so don't walk past it thinking you're going to get better - try them out.

Hanim is much more than accommodation, it’s a true experience. My partner and I visited in August and we were positively surprised by this family run hotel, which immediately makes you feel welcomed. The hotel is conveniently located allowing to explore the old city easily. Beyond the cozy rooms and atmosphere one could immediately feel the attention to the detail. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained providing all necessary amenities. Rooms, however, are not what made this place special, but the people running it. Rena was always there for us to provide a good tip so that to explore the city at its best, have a friendly chat and share a nice story. Booking a breakfast at Hanim is also a must. Sokrates made every breakfast special and a small culinary journey showcasing fresh Greek products and home made treats. Great job guys! We are looking forward to our next visit there!

Lovely room in a beautiful atmospheric street central to all you need. Our hosts treated us like family, warm and welcoming and gave us great tips on local places to eat and visit. An amazing breakfast created from local top class ingredients was a highlight. Our second time staying here (3 nights) and we look forward to returning.
