I am so sorry I left 1500 euros to this property, I spent 10 days of my holiday listening to the guests above me, literally everything they did, I felt as if I were staying in the hostel and they claim they have sound proof rooms !!! you are asked to pay everything upon arrival and before seeing room, so in case you don't like something when you see the room, it will be too late to negotiate whatever. Shame
Absolutely loved everything about our accommodation in this charming period property. It was in the best location in the old town of Chania. The hostess Eleutheria was extremely helpful and friendly giving us lots of good advice on places to visit and where to eat. Definitely would stay here again.
Perfect location between harbour and cathedral. Nice building with unique room. The bathroom and some of the interior are a bit old fashioned bathroom. Very warm welcome which made us feel at home immediately. Very interesting information to get to know the city and good recommendations for dinner.
We decided to change our hotel 2 weeks before our arrival when I chanced upon the reviews and read about the history. Best decision -- this place and the amazing hospitality of the family (Eleutheria, her parents) that runs it are highlights of memories of Chania. We were welcomed by Eleutheria's father (he has limited English but was very nice) to our room in the 1st floor. Eleutheria is fluent in English and she provided us with a brief history and information on the surroundings (map) when we went to the reception after our rest. The fridge was stocked with a welcome huge fruit basket and lots of drinks. Complimentary raki and wine from their own vineyard. Each night we would come home to clean room, with local treats and chocolates. There is instant coffee and tea. The bathroom was stocked and also has nice local bath products. Each of the 8 rooms are uniquely and tastefully furnished full of character and history. Yet there were amenities/furnishing to make you fully comfortable and feel the warmth of a home. We loved everything about our first floor room! The location is fantastic- steps to the harbour and restaurants but away from a lot of the noise and crowds. (Note: if you have some difficulty with stairs, choose the first floor.). Eleutheria is the most amazing host and truly is the epitome of Cretan hospitality. She provided us with the history of their hotel/family, information about the main attractions, where to eat seafood and shop for best local products (cheaper). She made sure we met our local guide (cars can not drive into the old town). She surprised us with a bday balloon and small cake in our room for my husband's 40th bday (she noticed on our passport). She even left a note for our last night and gave us olive oil bath products. Highly recommend this place and the family that operates it with their whole heart! …
This is my third stay and still, every time I get pleasantly surprised by the hospitality, attention to detail, and sheer joy that this place offers. This is Chania old town at its best. Great location, gorgeous rooms, and the little personal touches here and there that make all the difference. I travel alone but this is a very romantic place for couples as well.
