Our room was on the third floor and there is no elevator. We didn’t have any trouble getting our luggage up, but something to consider if you have trouble walking.
Even though the Palazzo is in a very central location, the street was very quiet and serene! There was a restaurant street nearby with great food and prices, ask Eleutheria for tips and avoid the touristy places in the harbor!
She kindly printed off covid documents
Passenger locator forms and flight tickets.
The room was clean and tidy and well
The bed really comfortable and also welcoming gifts which was very kind
Equipped well for snacks etc.
WiFi was superb
Face masks and sanitizer was also provided
What people need to understand is that staying here involves a certain level of responsibility. The owner is at the desk usually 10 am to 2 pm daily, and then as needed. If she is not, you have to open the front door yourself with your given key, and ensure the front door is closed behind you when you leave. Also, this is a very old building so if you want to get drunk and loud, everyone will hear you. The walls are thin and noise carries very easily. Even normal walking can sound like an elephant is walking around on the floor above you at times. People need to be quiet and respectful of fellow guests. Also, there is no elevator, which means that you will have to haul your luggage up 1 to 3 flights of stairs yourself. If you can't go up and down a spiral wooden staircase, this hotel is not for you. If you have mobility issues, rowdy kids, or want a party atmosphere, look elsewhere. If you want a stay in a historic, atmospheric place with a taste of the old Venetian charm that Chania is known for, check out this place. FYI, there is a resident black cat, so please be respectful of her. She is not allowed into the rooms, but is free to go to the lobby and the rooftop garden. Guests are welcome to check out the garden too. We did and found it to be quite nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the future.
The meticulous cleanliness of the entire hotel is praiseworthy. Every small detail, from the beautifully adorned soft furniture to the elegantly designed carpets and decorations, is maintained to perfection. It’s evident that the hotel leadership and staff takes great pride in ensuring guests enjoy a spotless and inviting environment throughout their stay.
However, the crowning glory of Palazzo di Pietro lies in its remarkable customer service. From the moment we entered the lobby, we were made to feel like the most important people in the world. The staff and leadership genuine care and attentiveness made us feel welcomed and cherished throughout our visit. No request seemed too difficult for them, and they always made time to address our queries or simply engage in delightful conversations.
In a world where rushed interactions have become the norm, Palazzo di Pietro stands as a beacon of true hospitality, where guests are treated not as customers but as cherished friends. The dedication and passion are evident in every encounter, leaving a lasting impression on our hearts.
The hotel’s commitment to preserving its history and creating an inviting atmosphere reminds us to cherish the past while embracing the present with open arms.
Without a doubt, we will remember Palazzo di Pietro with a renewed sense of wonder and gratitude. It is a place that holds the power to ignite joy and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. We wholeheartedly recommend this exceptional hotel to all those seeking not just a stay, but an uplifting and transformative journey. Palazzo di Pietro, a haven of magic, elegance, and impeccable service, truly redefines the meaning of hospitality.
It was difficult finding spacious and nice rooms that could accommodate three people so it was a relief to find Palazzo di Pietro.
The fruit in the fridge available upon arrival was such a nice touch and allowed us to have breakfast in the room the next morning without having to shop first.
Eleutheria was amazing, welcoming and warm! Felt like we had a local mom!
The room was beautiful, the shower pressure great, the roof garden even more beautiful. Small fridge in the room with dishes so it felt more like an Airbnb.
Eleutheria was helpful when asked but never invaded our space. We had the air conditioning on the whole time so never heard street sounds. The crowds of Old Town are too much and this wonderful hotel was tucked away but only a 3 minute walk to the harbor. We stayed in room 7 which is a 3 flight climb but hey, we burned off calories! Absolutely nothing negative about this hotel.
The hotel is in the heart of the Old Town of Chania, where everything is only a stone-throw away. The room is lovely with a small balcony that opens to the small street of Agion Deka.
The manager, Ele*******, is a lovely lady who explained us the history of the town, and also recommended us fantastic dining places, of which all proved to be a great one. The complementary wine and the fruit selection was very thoughtful and kind, and was very much welcome from our side 🙂.
One remark to mention, the building is beautiful, but old - this means that the walls are a bit thin and occasionally the neighbours can be overheard. Keep this in mind when booking. If it does not bother you, you will enjoy the place as much as we did.
"Honestly, they thought of everything. Laundromat is very close by. For 12 euros, I got a full load of laundry done just outside the hotel. "Read full review
