After a successful and wonderful summer at Candia Park, we used our autumn break to come back here with the kids at the end of the season. It is of course a great advantage if the children already know where they are going, as they feel comfortable from the start. Once again, special highlights for the kids are the two big swimming pools, the rich buffet (with an ice cream buffet in the evening), the easy access to the beach, the large room and the village character of the resort, where they could always move freely. Happy children, happy parents - we had the most wonderful time at Candia Park, even though we were a bit unlucky with the weather this week. But this has not clouded our joy about the holidays. The hotel has so much to offer and the staff make you feel right at home. A big thank you to the whole Candia Park Team, see you next year :-) Rolf, Marisa, Luca & Leo…
Candia Park is a home away from home. After many visits we returned despite Covid . The hotel made such an effort to please us and hygiene is excellent. Above all it is so friendly and swathed in a garden of flowers, just beautiful. Nikos and his team are so welcoming and the food it always good and varied. The Greek specialty’s are delicious and everything is fresh. The rooms are comfortable and very well kept. The aircon works perfectly. There are several beaches well kept and equipped as well as a delightful spa. Thankyou EVA for your warm welcome. I can’t say more, it’s pure relaxation and pleasure. Maude and Daniel
Old fashioned rooms need to be renovated, certain people from the staff at the dining room had more than rude behavior to us something that we didn’t expect to happen especially in front of our children. The manager also treated us like thieves and not like customers.
Such a beautiful place and wondeful people. Thanks specially to Marieta, Nikos & team. You‘re the best! We spent already our 6. holidays in Candia Park Village & will be definitely back next year! Thanks for everything.
I stayed here with my wife and two children in May 2022. First of all it's in the middle of no where and there's nothing really close by, we walked into town each day which was a 45 minute walk. Which can be a real slog on hot days. The entertainment there was really non existent, they had a few events in the evenings but it was very average at best. My 8 & 11 year old were bored most of the time. The only thing to keep them entertained was a table tennis which was free, tennis courts which were very expensive and a pool which was freezing cold. A holiday is what you make of it, and we did our best but if you like a hotel with lots of things to keep you active and busy then I wouldn't choose this place. The food was nice enough, and the cocktails were very expensive for what they were. €11 for a cocktail which is mainly ice. We had a nice time but I wouldn't go back or recommend it to anyone.…
Candia is about 4kms from Agios Nikolaos. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Candia Park. We arrived in the early hours of the morning but the reception were fully prepared for us and we were in our room within 5 minutes. Our room was in the block next to the reception. The rooms are spacious, a good sized double bedroom with a very new looking, high quality, wet room en suite, a combined lounge, dining and kitchenette area and a very large balcony. The room was clean and well presented. The hotel is low level and set on a hill side, laid out as village with the rooms having a villa like appearance with little walkways and 'streets' meandering between the blocks , facing out towards the beautiful bay. Because the hotel is on a hillside it is naturally set on different levels/terraces all linked with long gently sloping walkways or steps, this wasnt a problem for us but might not suit those with mobility/health issues. There are 2 large swimming pools alongside a pool bar, all with beautiful views of the bay. The main dining area is buffet style with most of the seating outside but under cover, we were self catering but tried the buffet on our last night and found it excellent with a huge variety of dishes to choose from. Walking further down the hill you have a choice of two small private beaches, one is a terrace style which is great for snorkelling from although the rocks are slippery and hard on the feet so swimming footwear is a good idea. The other beach is sandy with free sunbeds and umbrellas, the sea doesn't go out much and the beach is quite thin but more than adequate for toddlers and sandcastle making! The sea on the sandy beach has a strand of stones just as you enter so water shoes advised. There is water sports provider to the left of the beach with paddle boards, diving, speedboats, jet skis etc quite expensive so we never tried. The hotel provided free bicycles, the Dutch style 'sit up and beg' type which were easy to use and had no time limits and came with locks. We cycled to Agios Nikolaos numerous times to stock up from the supermarket which is on the seafront as you get to the outskirts of the town. The ride is about 15mins and has a couple of moderate inclines, the traffic was ok and the ride is easy for a reasonably competent cyclist. We had a couple of ruck sacks with us and managed easily to incorporate afternoons in the numerous tavernas with supermarket stock ups. Given its location there is not much within walking distance of the hotel apart from other hotels although there is a basic supermarket/souvenir shop about 1km towards Agios Nikolaos. There is a bus service from the entrance to the complex which takes you to Elounda or Agios Nikolaos. Elounda is not cycleable unless you are a serious cyclist, we used the bus service there and found it easy to use. The one thing close to Candia is the tavern 'Olga's', about a 10min walk from Candia towards Agios Nikolaos. We dined there on about 5 nights which tells you everything, food was lovely at this family owned restaurant who looked after diners as if they were part of the family, relaxed and plenty of humour, one of the sons 'Georgio' was an absolute card, a real eccentric with so much humour and friendliness. If you go down towards the bottom of the hotel comp,ex you pick up a little lane to the right which cuts off a lot of the walk to Olga's. We popped in when cycling back from agios nikolaos and pre booked our table so that we could guarantee a sea view table. We caught a ferry from Agios Nikolaos to Spinalonga, an ok afternoon trip. Agios Nikolaos is a lovely bustling seafront town with lots of restaurants and bars to laze away an afternoon or amble around the many boutique style shops. Elounda, was ok but not much there and nowhere near as picturesque as Agios Nikolaos. We would have no hesitation in recommending Candia, we will go back soon! We stayed at Candia Park Village from the 9th Sept 22 to the 17th Sept 22, just after the UK schools had gone back and the temperature was still in the high 20's. …
Our first time visiting this beautiful place. Gorgeous scenery of a traditional Greek village, and amazing people. The kids really had a great time with the activities that were planned from the hotel, and were so excited when we told them that we would be coming back. The staff some of the friendliest we have encountered in our family trips and they all did a wonderful job. If you are looking for a great place to spend time with your family, then this is definitely it!. Thank you Litsa (from the mini club) for making sure our kids enjoyed their vacation, thank you Petros (restaurant) for making sure we were treated so well, thank you Ilias (pool bar) for your big smile and great heart, and thank you to the front office manager for making sure that anything we needed was attended. My husband and I would like also to thank mr. Dimitris (hotel manager) for his special care in our extra requests, which he arranged immediately. See you all next year. …
We had a lovely experience staying at the beautiful Candida Park. I booked myself a facial and body treatment and having a skin condition was a little worried. Vicky at the spa was able to give me fantastic advice on which treatment would be suitable, the ingredients in all of the products that would be used and her professionalism and expertise completely reassured me. On the day of my treatment Fraih was my therapist and was simple terrific. My skin looked amazing afterwards and all of the staff, Sofia and Vaggelis were just so lovely and friendly, it really made my holiday. Thank you so much team AEGEOS Spa!
We stayed here in august,we don’t usually do bed and breakfast…but this place was perfect.really lovely vibe, right on the beautiful beach.perfect for young kids, excellent kids club.Amazing staff, lovely food and well located-we alternated our evenings out between Aghios and Elounda. We liked it so much,we want to return next year (and we never return to the same place twice). The only negative is about the ridiculous price of the water sports /activities on the beach! 100 euros for a family of 4 on the banana is crazy Thank you Candia for a gorgeous holiday
It was a Great treatment, with excellent therapist Vaggelis. The place is very clean, the staff are welcoming and very kind. It's was a great way to end our vacation at candia hotel. Highly recommend
