As a treat, my daughter and I spent a lovely relaxing week here in May this year 2022. We had a lovely, quiet suite with a sea view. The room was clean and comfortable. The manager , Alexandros Glynos was very pleasant and attentive and made us feel safe and welcome. We were treated to a lovely bottle of Greek Rose and a complimentary meal so that we could try authentic Greek food, having mentioned to Mr Glynos, in passing, that we would like to try this. The breakfasts were very good and varied, and both buffet and cooked-to-order menus were available. The staff in general were very welcoming and helpful and the beach attendant, Charris, was very courteous and pleasant. There is a small private beach, beach platforms and a pool with plenty of seating available. We would definitely return for a quiet break away in May or even September. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the local town where there is a nice selection of cafes and shops.

This was not our first visit to St. Nicolas Bay Resort. But alas, this is the perfect place for a first post-pandemic holiday. Staff feels more like a family members you're returning to. Everything is meticulously taken care of. The resort blends with the sea and the private beach. We enjoyed swimming in the crystal-clear water. We found wonderful private spaces to watch sunrises and sunsets, and also a full moon candle light dinner directly next to the Mediterranean Sea. Breakfast and Dinner are very tasty and reflect greek cuisine. Everything feels spacious enough to feel safe and healthy. Travel from Germany was easily manageable and we'll certainly be back later this year.

I was in Room 500, which has a wondeful view over the sea. My whole experience at the hotel was great: the accommodation, the service and the food. It's so beautiful - the architecture and idiosyncratic design touches everywhere are to die for - and in a great location close to town. Great sauna and steam area too and a nice gym. Having looked at other comparable high-end hotels close by, it's also good value.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday the fabulous St Nicolas Bay Hotel. It goes without saying that the location is stunningly beautiful. The hotel is perfect, a very high standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel. The food is fabulous, from the buffet restaurant, the two a la carte restaurants and the beach bar and breakfast buffet. The staff are very friendly, approachable and helpful and nothing is too much trouble, especially the reception staff. We were allowed to keep our room until 6pm on the day of departure, well beyond check out time and we were not charged. I was so impressed. The restaurant staff are very attentive, especially our lovely waiter in the Minotaur restaurant. The cocktails are lush. I also had two fab treatments in the spa with the lovely Dafni. We have had a lovely relaxing week in this gorgeous hotel, the beach area and pool are lovely, I hope to return very soon. Hery highly recommended.

What a great find! St Nicolas Bay is an amazing place to stay. The hotel itself is built like a small village, so you have all the amenities of a luxury hotel with the feeling of living in a small village community. There is a small shop, art gallery and chapel open to all. The gardens are well maintained, beautiful and give off a wonderful scent. There was a large air-conditioned games room for the kids with a pool, table tennis, table football and PS4s with games. We also discovered complementary coffee and water was also available there! My daughter went to kids club for a few hours most days of our stay, coming back with all sorts of craft work, she thoroughly enjoyed her time there with Rula. The pool areas were clean and there were plenty of loungers and towels. We weren’t expecting saltwater pools (we’ve not been on holiday recently where it has been salt water) but they are a lot better than they used to be, although did cause some prickly heat rashes on the kids. The beach area is clean and well looked after. They have created a small bay suitable for bathing and snorkelling to watch the abundant fish in the shallows. You can swim out into deeper water too. It’s a really nice spot for swimming. Maintenance standards of the pool and beach areas aren’t up to UAE levels of attention to detail, for example, the outdoor showers were a bit wonky and the push shower valve was loose and temperamental (but I’m being picky here). The rooms were kept very clean and tidy by the staff and were to a high standard. Again being picky, not enough electrical sockets for a family of four with all their charging requirements – but perhaps that was a good thing! From your room virtually everything is a minute or two walk to get to. You have a choice of 2 a la carte restaurants, a buffet restaurant and an all-day beach bar restaurant. We found the all-day beach restaurant (Blue) food was fabulous, the service amazing and amazing views out to sea. The best a la carte by far was Minotaure, booking is well advised. The Greek a la carte (Kafenion) was nice, but Minotaure was on a different level. The buffet restaurant (Labyrinthos) gave a nice choice of food off a menu and also allowed you to pick up your own starter, main and dessert. The quality of this food here was good, but not quite as good as you might expect from a 5-star. The service in all these restaurants and at breakfast was fantastic. The staff really look after you and make you feel welcome, comfortable and ensure you have everything you need. I can’t fault the staff in any way. In fact, we were so pleased with how we were looked after we noted a few names of people who were outstanding, making our stay fantastic: Irini breakfast clubhouse, and Marcida who worked behind the scenes at breakfast, but nothing was too much trouble. Manos/Nikos/Dora were a fantastic team in Blue Bay /Minoture. Great with the kids and us, service was outstanding. Rena at Labrynthos Athina at Blue / jetty bar Maria Labrynthos And last but by no means least, Sofia (Cleaning staff who maintained the pool/beach toilets), worked extremely hard and always had something nice to say. There was one other who looked after the pool and beach area, we think his name was John but he was so nice and helpful with towels, giving the names of the fish we had seen, advising on where to snorkel, retrieving footballs and looking after lost goggles - top guy. The owner/manager Alexandros was also welcoming and he was accessible to guests to stop and chat. No matter what restaurant you are in, Alexandros will appear at some point to check things are good and to wish you a good morning or evening. On our feedback form, the only thing we could think of to improve our stay was to have complimentary water available during the day around the pool and beach.

To the Alexandros Glynos & Team/Family We would like to express our profound appreciation to you and your team for an amazing experience we had during our 10 days stay. Thank you so much for the hospitality. We immensely enjoyed every second of “St. Nicolas” Bay experience. And St. Nicolas Bay resort is the epitome of unadulterated Luxury Holiday indulgence in Crete. Just brilliant, absolutely brilliant! We arrived late at night and the check-in process was unquestionably splendid! And this was just a taste of many exceptional treats that St. Nicolas Bay had in store for us. We love the resort, creatively and expertly put together to enchant the human soul. It did exactly that! It tickled our senses with great delight and swept us off our feet instantaneously. Breakfast and Dinning experience was truly amazing, every need well catered for! We enjoyed many blissful evenings at Blue Bay and Jetty Bonetsa Bar. We also had many wonderful evenings at the Greek Kafenion. We enjoyed scrumptious meal whilst listening to live Greek music. The ambience and service at Labyrinthos restaurant was equally exceptional. You and “The Family” gave us “The Personal Touch” as authentic hospitality Professionals which made our stay a memorable experience. You guys are the “The Very Best in the Business”. We applaud your professionalism! We saw you guys every single day beaming with your charming smiles and expression of goodwill through “Kalimera, Kalispera & Kalininta” greetings. All the members of your family were friendly, accommodating and absolutely incredible! We were beautifully taken care of much more like royalties from the very moment we arrived to the very last second of our last day at St. Nicolas Bay. Your warmth and thoughtfulness and genuine hospitality was apparent throughout our stay. You have our undying gratitude for your peerless professionalism. Thank you once again for your time and gracious hospitality. Your resort was such a fabulous paradise for us to chill out. Our experience was genuinely memorable and magical! We just can’t wait to visit again! We have just returned from a week at this hotel - great location, delightful sea views, high quality, clean rooms, great food, and most of all, excellent customer service. We did have an issue with being charged for items from the minibar that we did not consume, and for someone else’s drinks at the beach bar. However, when we flagged these charges, the staff resolved this swiftly by cancelling them. We would not hesitate in returning to this wonderful hotel. Thank you to the General Manager who came to speak to the diners every morning & evening, and a special thanks to his superb team.

I think they deserve 5 stars despite a few minor hicups which I will mention below. We were not planning to spend a lot of time in the room, so we only booked a modest "classic double room limited sea view" for 5 nights in this gorgious hotel. -One of the best check-in experience (no wait, welcome drinks, lady was speaking in special relaxing tone that was so relaxing to us, almost soothing after a long trip!) -Valet took care of our car and luggage, he actually cleaned the interior of the car as well, which was a nice surprise. -Voucher given for one complementary dinner course at one of the a-la-carte restaurants. I thought it would be a set menu but no, we actually got to order EVERYTHING we wanted on the fancy menu for free (except drinks), probably worth around 120-170$ for us. -Another voucher given for a couple 30min private massage at the spa, which ended up being 40 minutes and was really a nice experience. -In the room, a bottle of champagne was waiting, unfortunately not so cold. We did not complain and still appreciated it. Nevertheless the next day they prepared another complementary bottle of champagne in the room, properly chilled in an ice bucket with a plate of fruits. -For the last night, an upgrade to a much better room with private pool (although they said 2 nights initially, it was a communication miss, but still nice). -There was a wedding ceremony in the hotel for one night so external guests came meaning it was not possible to use the usual restaurants venues, but the mitigation and communication beforehand from the hotel was perfect in my view so we were OK. - Our expericence dining at the minotaure on 27th July was fantastic, everything perfect, timing, food, drinks, service. We were greated personally by Alex. I forgot the name of our host, the one with a small mustache but kudos to him, he gave us an absolutely amazing dining experience and even cared to use a "thief" wine cork extractor to open the 2008 bottle of wine, with great care. Helas we had one diner night at the Greek Kafenion where everything went wrong. We felt our table was neglected, we ordered cocktails to start, but the main dish and bottle of wine came at the same time. The food came lukewarm, and we felt the dishes were very basic for a 5 star hotel (we had coq au vin and lamb fricassee). At the end, the desert we wanted was not available. When we gave our feedback at the end politely. we were asked if we "were joking" ?! Nobody came to explain or apologize BUT we noticed that the 50$ of wine was waved, which we took as an apology and nice gesture. Anyway consider the overall experience, it was quickly forgiven. Water sport selection is everything you need, we tried the self driving boat, it was great. Last but not least, the bartender making cocktails near the beach is absolutely world class, I challenged him a bit by asking a different cocktail every night, outside of the menu and he delivered a perfect one every single time !!! We will definitely recommend this place and come again if we have the chance ! Staff is amazing overall. THANK YOU.

The hotel staff make this hotel. The standards are adhered to by everyone. Marena Thankyou for sorting out my room on arrival The downside is having to pay for water Which leaves a bad taste considering this hotel is on the expensive side for Greece Thankyou for a relaxing week

We have just returned from a very special week at St Nicholas Bay Hotel. This hotel is made by the people and the service as well as being in a wonderful setting by the sea. We had a lovely room with a pool (300) but the boys room was a bit small as they are very large! Marena went to a lot of trouble to sort out a different room and she is wonderful. Breakfasts and lunch at the Blue Bay restaurant were real highlights as was an evening at the Asian restaurant which is excellent. My shout outs are to Alex the manager who is always around making sure things are running smoothly, Maria, Dora and Nico. I also had a wonderful massage with Daphne. Its the best service i have had in a hotel and i am fussy. Its just a bit windy, but there is nothing the staff can do about that! Thanks for a wonderful stay. Rebecca
