The resort’s 23 sea-facing rooms are a study in the iconic Greek island aesthetic. Whitewash walls, Aegean blue interior touches and, of course, unparalleled views of the sea, combine to produce spaces that are as relaxing as they are breath taking. Members will be impressed with the amenities, which include a pool and children’s pool, Karma Spa offering local organic Cretan treatments, sea-facing yoga deck (and accompanying yogi), the Amphora restaurant which – like its namesake – carries an impressive volume of local and international wines and a large sundeck with spectacular views of Crete’s mountainous interior. The fully refurbished Karma Minion, situated only five minutes drive from the understated – yet artfully curated – cool of Agios Nikolaos, offers an idyllic escape for members seeking a stylish yet relaxed slice of Cretan life.

My original review was 7500 words: I’ve had to edit my enthusiasm for this authentic & beautiful resort! Valerios, the exceptional manager there, ensured our stay was memorable: his passion for his resort along with his excellent attention to detail radiated through every member of his outstanding team, creating a special ambience. They made my husband & I feel happy & relaxed but they also engaged fully with our kids, making them feel valued & comfortable too - thank you for that! I don’t fancy a huge, anonymous hotel now I’ve experienced how rewarding an intimate setting like the Karma Minoan can be. It doesn’t hide that it sits in a hillside so to experience the incredible views & tranquility... embrace the fact it’s beautifully built over many levels! The steps to our fab room Zeus were no problem for us, our 12 yr old twins & 5 yr old. The room was amazing, lots of space, loved the decor, stunning views, beautifully maintained. We bought the excellent breakfast deal. The reception had a brilliant library. Craft materials entertained the kids. The pool area had a perfect relaxing feel: unobtrusive music, inflatables, stocked sandpit, smart sunbeds & tables, immaculate toilets. The food was incredible: top chef! Greek Night, unanimously our best family night ever: incredible dancing, atmosphere, food! Quiz night was superb too! We were genuinely sad to say goodbye to Valerios, his team & the Karma Minoan. We hope we’ll return - they gave us a holiday we’ll ALWAYS treasure.

We loved everything about this little resort (5 kms out of Agios Nikolas). Resort has 17 only. No cooking facilities in rooms. The resort is built on the side of the cliff and has approx 5 levels, only accessible by stairs. Most rooms have views of Mirabello Bay We had a 1 b/rm, up on the 4th level, which means a lot of stair climbing. The restaurant & bar were reasonably priced and on par with restaurants in the surrounding seaside towns. The food was fantastic and there are several theme nights each week - including Greek Night where plate smashing and dancing on tables is all part of the fun. We stayed for two weeks - it is a little quiet being out of town and if you want to get around and do some sightseeing a car is advisable. Alternatively if you are looking to chill and only visit Agios Nickolaos infrequently then a taxi is EUR 10.00 each way - or the local bus (just down the road) is a couple of EUR. There are other restaurants within walking distance of the hotel (for a change) approx 15 mins each way. The staff at Karma are amazing - nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to assist you, from reception and housekeeping to bar, wait &kitchen staff. You can also book tours through reception which are comparable in cost to others you might find online (they are local operators too). I really recommend this. we did 2 tours whilst here. The only negatives are A:bathroom -shower is small & everything gets wet and B:car park - its narrow & limited spaces.

The breakfast is very good too. The place does'nt have an elevator so you have to carry your luggage up in the hill, but above all very beautifull place.

From the moment we arrived staff fell over themselves to make our stay the best it could be. Perfect for those wanting a small intimate resort. It was very clean and well maintained even though our stay was right at the end of the season. The organised Greek night was great fun and the food the best we had on the island so definitely worth doing. I wanted to do it the second week but we had another commitment. The food was delicious although a little pricey but fine if you are a member as the price is reduced. There is happy hour for two hours which made the cost of wine and beer acceptable. We had a one year old with us and the chef and staff went out of their way to ensure he had food that suited him. Excellent cot and high chair. There was a very well equipped sandpit with toys, pool inflatable and table tennis. I was not expecting the impact of the views from the resort which are stunning. One reason I was keen to go to this resort was because they have a yoga/exercise deck which has a padded floor and is a spectacular place to do yoga. Plenty of clean yoga mats and some gym kit such as plenty of weights. During the 2 weeks we stayed me and my family were the only people I saw using the deck but every day it was swept clean and fresh water and towels placed ready. Our apartment had a shower room with a seriously good shower and there was always hot water when we wanted to shower in the evening. Excellent mattress which gave a great night's sleep. Some reviews have complained about the steps so I was expecting a work out. Yes, there are a few, possibly 20 to the main resort from the entrance and the same again to our apartment but if you can't do steps it's possibly the wrong place for you. For those used to going up a flight of stairs it's fine. You can see them from an aerial view if looking on the internet. The location is perfect for those wanting to visit the east and south east of the island. We had not visited the island for about 10 years and the main roads have been massively improved and halved our anticipated journey from the airport to the resort. Before we arrived I had some questions to ask the resort and they came back very quickly with all the help I needed. Having had a customer service background, I can be quite critical but a can't find anything negative to say. I can't wait to go back. A very big thank you to all the wonderful staff who quietly worked very hard to make it a perfect holiday.

We just had lunch this time but were so impressed we hope to come and stay next year. Situated on the cliff side there are lots of steps but the view is worth the climb. I had the Venetian Salad which was divine and enjoyed sitting in the sunshine with a glass of wine.Great atmosphere and everyone was very friendly.
