There is Greek Night at Karma Minoan every Thursday night both for external and In House Guest. This is Greek Hospitality at its very best! There is a Life Band with 2 Greek Dancers, they include all the Guest immediately in the dancing and create the mood very quickly that nobody feels shy about dancing and just moving! Food is absolutely Fantastic! The best part is that even the waitresses and staff joined in the dancing so everybody was just having a good time! One particular waitress Sophia, was already swaying to the music while looking after the buffet food ....after that she was just dancing and dancing. We were also given plates to smash on the floor during dancing. This is a funny culture, but added to the whole atmosphere of the party. Highly recommended to attend!
A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The staff were all delightful. The Greek night was fantastic with delicious food. There is a tiny beach a short walk away and another about 20 minutes away with a few restaurants (take a tourch!!) . The town is pretty and lovely to walk around easy to get to by car or cab although it's a bit tricky either a baby who needs a car seat but can be done if arranged via the hotel.
Location: This resort is in a nice location. About 1 hour from Heraklion airport and port which is about a 90 euro taxi ride or once can get the bus to Agios Nikolaus. Taxis are fixed price from resort to Ag. Nikolaus of 12 euros. The resort is on a bluff with fantastic views. There is a bus stop nearby to go into town or to other beaches. There is a beach within 5-minute walk and a further beach about 15 minutes' walk. Both offer nice water, and water activities. Amoudara beach also has restaurants and sunbeds are free with purchase. Apt: The apartments are clean, nice and well stocked. Excellent amenities and comfortable. Resort: The resort is fantastic. They do a welcoming dinner and drinks, daily happy hour, Yoga on Tuesdays and a Greek night (plate smashing and traditional food). We had an excellent experience at this resort. Staff: What sets this resort apart is the excellent staff. They were all kind, friendly and helpful. From reception, bartenders, to wait-staff, they treat you like family. They can also help arrange excursions or rental cars.…
An amazing location , view of the blue sea with paths to walk along the coast or miles.Take walking shoes for sure if visiting Crete . Th staff at the hotel were extremely warm and friendly.Anna from Athens has an aura about her, and made our stay even more special. Ana and Starios at the bar both looked after us with a smile and a chat. The reception staff Marina and Alexandra did a most wonderful job.Valerios the manager kept us informed if we were unsure of any visits on the island or restaurants, a mind full of information. Dean was the current Karma Rep and was great at keeping the guests enjoying the venue. The meet and greet evening and the Greek night, were both very successful. This place is definitely worth a return trip. Another big thank you to Karma. The beach is a lovely 15minutes walk and has restaurants there.…
We have just returned from a discovery week at the Karma Minoan with our 15 year old twins and were blown away by all aspects of this boutique resort! The Service - This was exceptional by all members of the staff, from the lovely ladies on Reception to the bar/restaurant team. The two Anna(s) were always so welcoming and friendy. The guys too! Thankyou very much to everyone who made our stay so special. The Room - These are simply decorated, in relaxing greek blue and white. Very Mamma Mia vibe! We had a 2 bedroom, family suite. Both rooms had double beds so one our kids slept on the sofa in the living area which made a comfy single bed. There were 2 balconies with seating areas, both with stunning views over the sea, and 2 shower rooms and toilets. Also a mini bar and ability to make tea/coffee. Cupboard space was a limited for 4 people but sufficient for a weeks stay. We stayed in Apollo at the top level. Lots of steps as other reviews mention but perfectly manageable. The location - The setting on a hillside overlooking the bay is breathtaking. Pictures don't do it justice. It was about an hour from the airport (approx 80 Euro in a pre booked taxi) and 10 mins to Agios town (approx. 12-15 Euro in a taxi). About a 3 minute walk downhill was the beach. It is used by the Blue Marine hotel but is open to the public. There is a small beach bar and watersports hire place there. This is also where the bus stop into town is. In the Blue Marine is a small shop (head by the pool) which is useful for basic provisions such as drinks and snacks. Further along the coastal path, the next bay has a couple of taverna's and a small shop. It's an easy 15-20 minute walk. Activities - The hotel has lovely pool area, with bar and an adjacent table tennis table area. There is a small gym and weekly complimenary yoga class. In the evenings we enjoyed the Greek Night (great fun) and the Quiz. Outside of the hotel, if you are interested in diving I strongly recomment Pelagos Dive in Agios. A very professional set up - Good for beginners who want to try out diving or experienced PADI divers. Don't hesitate to visit Karma Minoan. It's fabulous! Thank you from the Taylor-Johnson family.…
A Breath taking view of the sea from any point at the resort, wonderful stuff and very helpful with a great restaurant and bar serving authentic Greek food, TO sit at the balcony of your room and stare on the sunshine touching the blue at daytime or the moon and stars reflection in the black water at night. very nice , wide , clean and well equipped apartments , daily room service. and not to forget the nice pool onsite. Unforgottable authentic Greek party every Thursday at the resort restaurant facing the great view of the sea with all the great resort stuff including the special manager who deserves to be mentioned GREAT MR. VALERIOS .
We had a really excellent holiday. We enjoyed the food, scenery, facilities, yoga, and especially the Greek night. This already felt like a home away from home. All credit goes to the staff for their incredible dedication, work ethic and impeccable hospitality. Thank you. We will come back.
We thoroughly enjoyed a weeks stay at Karma Minoan in the last week of May. This is a beautiful hotel with just 23 sea facing rooms, a lovely breakfast deck and bar area and a great pool to cool off in, all with amazing sea views The whole staff team are so very welcoming and attentive, nothing is too much trouble for them. Thank you to them all for a wonderful, relaxing and friendly holiday. Oh and the Greek night is fab too !! We will definitely be returning. A big thanks to them all ! Jenny & John Blythe
We recently stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with balcony and great sea view and we absolutely loved it. The resort is in a great location facing the sea with great food and very friendly and caring staff. Our one and half year baby Nora was well taken care of and loved by all staff. Greek night was the highlight of our stay and one the reasons why it was so special was due to the fact that it was the first Greek night of the year. Greek singers, musicians and dancers performed well and we had a great night including our baby Nora who also enjoyed dancing and smashing those special plates (thankfully she is not smashing any plates at home😜). It was our baby’s first holiday and overall the resort exceeded our expectations. We would like to thank General Manager-Valerios, Reception- Marina, Georgia, Alexandra, Kitchen staff- incredible chefs, both Annas, Stelios, Sotiris and housekeepers-Maria, Andhi, Litsa and all those I have missed their names. We definitely recommend this family friendly resort and hope to see you all soon!…
We love this place: lovely people, lovely service, lovely food, lovely accomodation (in relaxing greek blue and white)…. …..what more to say?……the most beautiful view ever from the terrace and the rooms and you can walk by foot to the next beach (max. 10-15 minutes) and you are in a few minutes by car in Agios Nikolaos with lots of shopping and interesting places to visit. Thank you all so much and see you next year!
