o whom it may concern if indeed anyone actually cares. We have just returned from the above holiday and wish to complain in the strongest terms possible. Our daughter booked the holiday in good faith, as a present to celebrate my 70 birthday. Your brochure description is misleading at best downright inaccurate at worst. You are not alone, TUI, Jet2, etc. are guilty of the same misrepresentation. This Hotel has never been a five star hotel, has any of your agents visited it recently? At my own expense, I would gladly meet one of your mangers there to demonstrate just our really bad this hotel is. For the avoidance of any doubt the following is a list of what the Hotel has not got or does not provide or is not 5* No Room service No Mini bar Inadequate hair dryer Satellite TV (4 News channels, 5 obscure foreign channels). 1 minuscule carton of milk each for tea or coffee per day. Bottled water renewed every two or three days not every day. Hotel instruction sheet that advises you that unless you are infirmed, not to use the lift and if you have to use it only two people at a time!!! We were on the third floor. All eateries shut at 21.30 Hrs !!! Capacity of the three “speciality” restaurants was less 50 people. My daughter tried to pre book these before we travelled and was told she could not. The morning after our arrival, I tried to book each restaurant and was told I was too late and that they were full. I made a scene and reception relented and made me one reservation on the Wednesday evening at 20.30 Hrs in the “Italian” obviously the thought of having a lazy candle lit dinner with a 21.30 curfew, was clearly not going to happen. For the record, the three speciality restaurants consisted one glass enclosure split into three compartments with common kitchens, the same furniture, no greenery, pictures , music, bric a brac to suggest which of the three you were in. On arrival in the “Italian” restaurant, we were seated, I ask for the wine list, there was not a wine list. , as with the rest of the hotel, we were offered, red, white or Rose, all of which were pretty dreadful, throughout the meal, we were not offered a refill nor water, nor bread…….. The food arrived instantly, like 3-4 minutes, the waiter brought my main course out when he came to collect my starter plate, which I had not quite finished. I awoke in the night with stomach cramps and had mild diarrhoea the next day. The food in the main restaurant was consistently cold and un appetising, we ate in the main restaurant once, looked in a couple of times afterwards and gave up, life’s too short. We did go for breakfast a few times, Toast and Jam or croissants and fruit, not too hard to get right. The layout of the restaurant was a joke, only hot food had a label. The 4 jams on offer were at the end of the salad bar well away for the bread and Toaster! Tables were never laid complete, we had to constantly ask for spoons. My wife was accused of being late for breakfast, when she asked for butter as there was none, it was 10.10 Hrs it closed at 10.30 Hrs. The “fruit” juices a.k.a. fruit squash, were machine delivered tasteless clearly diluted. No prosecco or sparkling wine for a bucks fizz. In all I spent around 1000 euros and food and drink away from the hotel (card statement to prove it). You omit to tell your customers that the Hotel is directly underneath the approach to Heraklion airport, 22 kms away. You cannot get a bottle of wine nor a branded drink of properly prepared cocktail anywhere in this 5* Hotel, you cannot get ½ or pint of Beer in this 5* Hotel, (see attached picture that’s the beer glasses and I have got little hands) you cannot get a bottle of beer, the only beer they serve, god knows what brand, in a small wine glass. We witnessed other guests buying branded alcohol in the local supermarket, we witnesses guest buying real Coca cola in the Hotel shop and coming into the lounge bar area and pouring it in their generic Vodka/Bacardi ? the bar had served. We witnessed lots of guest wining and dining and drinking away from the Hotel every night. If and we did not, you wanted to sit in the general lounge, which was open plan into the “kids” room, entertainment (dreadful), it the entertainment was not on, which drowned out everything, even if the entertainment was good, the sound system was dreadful, the sound of the air hockey table clatter was constant even in the other side of the lounge. The clearly marked POOL BAR is not a pool bar, it does not serve alcohol. The actual pool bar was around the corner away from the main pool. The poolside entertainment consisted of one large Bluetooth active speaker, quality!!! The picture album for the Hotel in the brochure, omits to show you the lounge bar and the pool bar, for good reason, they would have shown a beer pump and a trigger drinks gun for wine and soft drinks, no bottles, no back bar, no nuts or crisps etc. When you leant over the bar, there was a small section of bottles with pourers in, generic, whisky, gin, vodka, rum? And some Greek liqueur type stuff, seriously not a proper drink in sight. Even if you were desperate enough to drink at the bar, you had to have a paper cup if you were going onto the terrace!! People just lied and said they were staying inside so they could have a glass. Not enough sunbeds and most positions taken overnight with the customary towel and book laying exercise, specifically banned by the Hotel rules, but no one wishes to police it. Not enough beach sunbeds, nowhere near. Beech was gravel not sand, the waters’ edge and onwards was littered with sharp rocks, never saw anybody in the sea, certainly no good for children, it was the same for the whole length of Beach Road. No waters ports, canoes etc. no volley ball court My wife had to suffer cigarette smoke when on the our balcony , the lift lobby next to our room 317, had a public balcony , regularly smokers would congregate there and our partition allowed the smoke to billow round to our balcony and bedroom if our door was open. I have to go to an appointment now, this list of problems and failings is by no means exhaustive, but should illustrates the issues. If you read all the bad and poor reviews on various websites especially trip advisor, You will notice that the things I am complaining about have been reported for over a decade yet nothing has been done to correct, it is criminal that the situation is allowed to continue. In short, everything in the hotel was done for cheapness, food, drink, service, timings etc. nothing to do with customer satisfaction. My utter dissatisfaction and frustration is further compounded by the fact that all of the above complaints have been raised ad nausea in over the last decade and more, how can you still market this hotel as 5* all-inclusive spa hotel, On the Beach is committing fraud obtaining my daughters money be deception Our taxi drivers and a few of local businesses we frequented all commented on our Hotels reputation and it was not complimentary.

Beautiful place to go. The rooms were cleaned every day. The entertainment was amazing. Friendly staff . I had a wonderful spa day massage by Nancy which was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place. You have everything you could possibly ask for here. You have your own gowns and slippers. Fridges are topped up with water and pop everyday. Safe is free to use. There is plenty of places to relax by the pool. You don't even have to put a towel down. There is always somewhere to relax. There is a lovely creperie where you can get ice cream all day crepes all day pop and water waffles also popcorn You can also get drinks all day from around the pool and also hot food is available all day the only thing I would say is maybe the food could be a bit warmer in the buffery but other than that there is nothing I could say about this place to put it down. It is beautiful. There are also three restaurants there you can try. You just have to book them in. They don't cost anything Italian, Greek and Asian sushi. There is also a shop inside if you need to get anything .

We had a lovely stay with my family here. The food is delicious, the staff friendly and the hotel very clean. Book a spa treatment with Nancy and you won’t be dissapointed! There is something for everyone here: pool, beach front walks, souvenir shopping, bars and 3 onsite restaurants. Balcony views on both sides of the hotel are wonderful. Rent a car and explore other towns on the coastline of Crete.

We stayed a week at the serita Beach, an excellent hotel for spending the holidays staying in paradise and spending the right amount. The restaurant offers various options every day and there are also 3 a la cart restaurants. What we enjoyed the most was the beautiful evening entertainment (super variety show) and daily programmes. We don't quite understand how it works but the animation with the white shirt is the heart of this hotel I'm sorry to say but the animation with the orange shirt is everything but not animation they are nice but they never came to ask us to do an activity or never them we have seen them done. The rooms are good value for money. We recommend this hotel and we will be back

First holiday abroad with my boyfriend and we were slightly disappointed with the hotel. Hotel is advertised as a 4 star but is definitely more of a 3. Hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. Especially with buses and things to do in the area. The rooms were tidy but was disappointed that we had 2 single beds instead of a double. Mini fridge was kept stocked and rooms were cleaned daily. The only thing we did have to keep asking for was milk which we felt was an inconvenience to keep asking. Showers/baths were nice. Handy tip ladies. Take your own hairdryer otherwise you’ll be drying your hair for 3 hours as hairdryer not that great. Really extremely disappointed with the food. I can honestly say nothing I had was hot. Either lukewarm or cold. There was variety which was good. Crepe bar was amazing. Disappointed that there wasn’t more food available throughout the day for snacks etc. Cola light wasn’t available in the pool bars so being diabetic this was a problem. Mostly just ended up having the full sugar as didn’t want to leave the pool to go inside to get one. There are 3 additional restaurants Italian, Greek & Asian but you have to book 3 days in advance. Again this was just average. They missed off our starter and we couldn’t be bothered to say! I’ve also heard other people mention that the Green & Asian wasn’t enjoyable also. We actually ate out a couple times because we wanted some better food. Which is not acceptable for paying for all inclusive. Entertainment was so-so. I felt like entertainment team really did try but just wasn’t great. Visit Heraklion town and the Crete aquarium if you can as they are good days out. I know it’s not the hotels problem but felt quite stung by the €28 room tax at the end. Feel like this is something they should mention when you first check in. Also I felt like some guests got preferential treatment over us. Just because we were young. We felt a little bit out of place. Some guests were shown to their table for food and asked what drinks they wanted. Whereas we would be told to sit anywhere and we’d have to wait up to 10-15 minutes for drinks. Overall, the hotel was ok. Just average. It didn’t really have the wow factor. Which was disappointing. But we still made the holiday enjoyable.

Dear Stephh, Thank you very much for providing us with your valuable feedback. All comments are taken into serious consideration in order to ameliorate our hotel services during the season. Taking this opportunity, we are very happy to announce that very soon we will have double top mattresses to provide to our guests who wish a double bed. We reassure you that the hotel staff and management always working tirelessly to provide you with the best possible services and that your comments have been taken into account for our internal reviewing. As for the overnight stay tax, please note that it was introduced by the Greek Ministry of Tourism and is applied since January 1st 2018. The fee is based on the official rating of the hotel’s category. We would like to thank you once more for taking the time to express your opinion upon our hotel and we hope to welcome you again in one of the A Hotels premises. Kind regards, The Hotel Management

The rooms were comfortable and we had complimentary slippers, towelling dressing gowns, bathroom toiletries, very good hot showers, towels changed every two days if needed, so on the whole very pleased. The downside was the weather that week but not their fault. The main restaurant had lots of choices but all the ‘hot’ food is lukewarm unfortunately. It comes out hot but stands over hot water trays which don’t work. They have 3 extra restaurants bookable only once a week, at least the food is hot there. Crepes available from the crepe bar all day and obviously drinks all day. Animation team try very hard but rather childish however some people enjoyed it. Best night was the last night when the ‘group’ (one man ) ! Got everyone going. The tourist tax on handing in the key was a shock @ €28 which we wish they had told us about on first day! Not their fault about the tax but we’d paid all inclusive plus single room supplement already!

Me and my best friend stayed at the hotel from 3.05.23 - 10.05.23 and loved every second of it. This was our first holiday together and so we wanted to feel comfortable and safe where we were and serita beach definitely had that homely feel. The hotel itself is lovely the interior is modern looking with some older features which balances out the details. The rooms are older looking but give off that mamma Mia look which I loved. We stayed in a standard room with a balcony facing one of the pools (more of an adult pool) which overlooked the sea and mountains. The pool was cold however it was expected given the time of year and so wasn’t bothered by it. The reps were 10/10, they made everyone feel welcomed and exceeded their job trying to include everyone in their activities and making each activity very fun. I was pushed out of my comfort zone a few times during the week but looking back at it I’m glad I was as it’s made the trip even more memorable :) The only downside to the stay would be the food as it’s quite repetitive with the same selection throughout the week but again we ate throughout the week so it’s not a massive issue just a suggestion !

I am disappointed with my recent hotel booking through Loveholidays. The staff was unwelcoming, food options were limited, and we were charged an extra government tax despite having an all-inclusive package. Although advertised as a five-star resort, the hotel did not have spa services. Due to a flight delay, we missed lunch and were denied sandwiches when requested. Additionally, when booking through Loveholidays, my cousin and I was assigned separate rooms in different buildings. I was provided with a room with two single beds instead of a standard double-bed room, while my cousin was given a single bedroom despite paying for a standard double-bed room. Overall, our holiday was not the relaxing experience we had anticipated. I hope you take our complaints seriously and think twice before you book to this hotel in the future.

Dear Henoke Mesfin, We are very sorry to see such a negative score and for not having met your expectations. It is very important to us that all our clients receive the appropriate services corresponding to their preferences as long as we are aware of them. We sincerely regret your disappointment about issues that we could happily handle like your room assignment or your late arrival. On a future occasion kindly share any doubts you may have to our reception team during your stay, as they will happily provide a solution. Furthermore, please note that the overnight stay tax is introduced by the Greek Ministry of Tourism and is applied since January 1st 2018. The fee is based on the official rating of the hotel’s category. As far as it concerns the spa services, there is a wide choice of massages and treatments for our guests. The spa manager is available every morning to discuss with our guests the suitable treatment for them. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and we reassure you that we will take your feedback on board Sincerely, The Hotel Management

Looked to see what would constitute a 4 star hotel before writing this because this hotel in my opinion is only a 3. So room 461, a bungalow (it’s an apartment) with sea views was not only in need a good clean but original smelt of drains when we arrived. The sea air had done damage to the shutters which needed fixing. The towels where changed every day and the bed changed once (far enough) but the floors where never cleaned, the dust was an inch thick on the tv and surfaces and there was a huge cobweb behind the door and if you made a drink in the room it ended up with limescale floating on the top. The access gate next to 461 which let you out on to the walk way/ road was screwed shut. The food, fabulous choices but I’m afraid it wasn’t hot, (ambient temp) we tried being 1st , last and everything in between, the only hot food I had was an omelette made at breakfast which was bloody tasty to be honest. There are 3 Al a carte to choose from, we went for the Italian…we were there 20 mins, it was only the base on his pizza that was cooked, everything on the top ie, tomato, onion etc was still cold and raw. If you have any mobility issues this is not the place for you as there are a multitude of steps down to and away from the pool areas, also, it wasn’t particularly busy when we went but at high season I can see there being a major issue with sun beds around the pools.

Dear Loopyjohno, Thank you for sharing your review regarding your recent stay. Firstly, we sincerely regret that we were unable to satisfy you completely. Your point about aspects of the room that need improvement and better cleaning, are well noted and rest assured that we are constantly working to provide our guests with excellent services. The relative department is informed and we will make sure that this will not happen again. Please note that we need to know if our guests have mobility issues in order to allocate a room at the main building, since our hotel is not accessible and is not advertised as such. Once again we thank you for sharing this review of our hotel and although it appears that this was not the perfect vacation for you, we hope you give us a second opportunity.
