Lyttos Mare Hotel garners praise for its luxurious amenities such as indulgent spa treatments and vibrant entertainment, though some guests express a desire for freshwater pools and more inclusive spa access. The cleanliness is a standout feature, with the hotel maintaining spotless rooms and facilities. While the atmosphere is lively, it may cross into noisy territory for some. Rooms are generally spacious and well-received, yet occasional noise and obstructed views are drawbacks.
The location is deemed prime by many, offering beach and city proximity, but not without a sense of isolation. Service is mostly commendable, but inconsistencies do surface, particularly at check-in and in dining venues. Lastly, opinions on value for money vary, with some guests feeling the hotel falls short in providing expected amenities and fair pricing.

Hotel's Favorite
Wow! This was the first impression we felt when we walked into the beautiful lobby. The receptionists greeted us with a drink and our luggage was taken to our room. We slept in a pool view balcony room with twin and double beds which were so comfy and the walk in shower was bliss!
The layout of the resort around the pools were well thought out and beautifully symmetrical! It would've been nice if the pools we're different depths. There was 1 toddler pool and the others were all 1.4m deep so my daughter had to float in a rubber ring as she was only 1.2m high! It is the first time we have been in a salt water pool and I must say we prefer chlorine pools as they're warmer. The double sofa deckchairs around the pool were worth it though! We used the indoor heated pool a few times which was much nicer especially on rainy days. The playpark is amazing with the crazy golf and there's free ping pong and an outside gym. We used the aqua park a couple of times next door too. All the pools were warmer in Lyttos Beach apart from the toddler pool. So freezing that we couldn't bear it which was a shame as it looked like so much fun!
The beach with the comfy sunbeds and umbrellas were lovely although we only used them once as it rained half the holiday! We couldn't go in the sea as it was too choppy that day and there is a rocky plateau to keep an eye on. Paddling was fun though. The beach is life guarded with flags which is always nice to see.
The main breakfast restaurant was not too busy and they catered well for dairy and gluten intolerances. Unfortunately there were no puddings in the evening that catered for us apart from fruit! The Asian bar was delicious and we luckily went there twice. We order a dish each and shared them. The steak house was tasty too and they have 2 nights when you can bring your kids along. Both needed to be booked as soon as you arrived on the App. The Greek Taverna was my favourite as its the reason I come to Greece - for the food! The snack shack on the beach was delicious too. The red wine and beer was great as well as the many cocktails and mocktails (loved by my kids). Our favourite evenings after going to the kids disco and shows were sitting in the Rainbow Bar, with the amazing bar man, Nickos, and playing endless uno!
10 days was enough to explore the East Side of the island and recommended is visiting Agios Nicolaos to sit round the lake and go on the semi submarine glass bottom boat. We got a ferry from Plaka to Spinalonga which was amazing. Watercity Aqua Park is fun and the aquarium is good to loose a few hours. It's the first time we hired a car from the airport and it was a god send. So great having the freedom to just explore at our leisure.
We would love to come back some day!

This hotel is one of the best we’ve stayed at and would definitely go back again and I rarely say that about hotels. The whole place is incredible and you get access to next door hotel Lyttos beach which is great if you have kids. We have a toddler so we wanted to relax in the day at lyttos Mare then we popped next door whenever our little one wanted to go on slides we even had a go on the bigger slides ourselves. We only booked half board but soon realised after paying 10euros per cocktail we would be better off paying extra for all inclusive which allowed us to have one night each at the steak and the Asia restaurant both of which were lovely food. We found the buffet food the be excellent quality food and it was different every meal time only thing I’d say is not much choice for kids but we found this even when eating out of hotel. You have to wear a mask in the buffet restaurant which sometimes we forgot and we would get chased around by the manager to give us one. All Greek people seem to love kids they will high five them in the shops or in taxi restaurants etc so we always found that warming. We found all the staff lovely Stella on reception always really helpful and her mum the taxi driver for hotel my son adored and he would ask to see her. My partner would go to the bar quite often in the day and bring cocktails to the room and Marina behind the bar would make jokes and have fun with him about how many cocktails he was drinking and he would come back laughing she was great during our holiday. We always found the staff on the main pool bar lovely the cocktails were always good although they didn’t do strawberry daiquiris on all inclusive even though at reception they told us they did. There was live music in main bar and night and baby disco every night next door, sometimes shows by the main bar. We were upgraded to suite with swim up pool and it made our holiday we felt so lucky. Cleaning is done every day and plenty of fresh towels, water is refilled daily, fridge is full of soft drinks, plenty of wardrobe space, only a few English channels on Tv. We went out some nights to Malia 20euros in taxi and a few nights Heraklion was 40euros in a taxi each way. You can get bus outside hotel to places for around 2euros.

We have just returned from a 6 Night stay at Lyttos Mare. Overall we had a fantastic trip with very little room for improvement. Upon arrival, the hotel Itself is absolutely beautiful, the check in was informative and staff were so helpful and polite. We stayed in room 1015 with a private swimming pool. Room was absolutely spotless, comfy beds, plenty of pillows, room was cleaned each day with fresh bedding and toiletries. Bottled water is also replaced daily which is so helpful. The pool areas are spacious and relaxed, getting a sun lounger can be a problem as people reserve them with towels early in the morning and don’t use them. Despite there being signs on parasols saying management will remove towels if not used I think this is something that can be improved on. We saw management remove towels off maybe one or two per day where as I think a stronger stance should be taken in order to ensure they are used as they are supposed too. We went 2 days unable to get a sun lounger. The main restaurant is fantastic, as is the Asian and the street food bar. We didn’t eat in the Greek restaurant on site although the food looked lovely. The biggest downside to our stay was our experience in the Steak House. Due to the fact we had our own pool in the room we were entitled to a 3 course meal free of charge. Upon arrival we were told we only got 25% discount (the standard discount for non pool / suit rooms) we argued the case and explained we had a pool and was then told we would eat for free. Baring in mind this is a ribeye restaurant when we went to order the ribeye it was supposedly not ready however another table who were paying were served rib eye. We were then shown steaks that were €95 we decided against this as we didn’t particularly want to spend so much on one meal when there was sirloin on the menu included in our free meal. Our server a young lady seemed disgruntled at the fact we didn’t pick the steak and we were then left with no desert despite ordering them through her. Towards the end of the meal the head chef gave us a desert to share as a good gesture from him despite us both ordering deserts which never arrived. The lady in the steak restaurant seemed to have an attitude which caused an atmosphere. We left feeling dissatisfied and treated differently due to the fact we weren’t paying for the meal as it was included in our package. This was the main area of the hotel which was slightly concerning. Despite our bad experience in the steak restaurant everything else was 5 star.

Dear Guest, Thank you kindly for taking the time for sharing your review for your recent stay in Lyttos Mare Exclusive Beach Resort. We are deeply happy to read that you found our hotel beautiful & clean, and our food offerings were of your likening. The hotel is beautiful but if you are expecting 5* then you will be disappointed. The service is, at best, indifferent, at worst, rude. I would suggest there is a lack of training for staff who are working in a 5* hotel. An example being where I asked for some assistance to find something at reception & was met with an eye roll. My partner was met with a rude response when asking for an omelette.
The pools are excessively salted to the point (you will need to keep your head above water) that they are not used very much. The pool at Lyttos Beach is much more popular as it isn’t salted.
The food is of poor quality & frequently cold. Even the a la carte restaurants are poor quality.
The bedrooms are fitted out cheaply, our air conditioning doesn’t work & there is no turndown service.
The kids club is a small space outside and there are no facilities or indoor space available. There are activities put on for children but these are in & around the hotel.
In fairness to the hotel they operate a policy of no reserving of sun beds but I have seen no evidence of this being enforced. The vast majority of sunbeds are reserved by guests and simply not used. I have not experienced this at other 5* hotels. This could and should be better managed by the hotel. After 7am it’s impossible to get a sun bed even though 80% are not even in use.

Dear Katy, Thank you for taking the time to offer us your personal thoughts concerning your stay at Lyttos Mare. We are happy to hear that you found our hotel beautiful. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience you might have experienced during your stay. We would like to kindly inform all our guests, that in Lyttos Mare all pools run with sea water as our hotel applies a series of environmental friendly procedures. We are sorry to hear that our food offerings were not of your likening, as generally it is considered one of our hotel’s highlights. Our hotel applies indeed a no-reservation policy for sunbeds, clearly stated and enforce frequently by gathering all unattended items& towels. We do have plenty of sunbeds for the number of our guests, but all guests prefer a specific sunbeds type right in- front of our pools. Given the fact that we are in our high season peak it is well understood that these sunbeds are difficult to be spotted free. Rest assured that all your remarks will be seriously taken under consideration for future service elevation. It is truly unsettling for us to hear that you did not receive the services you desired as out main hotel's priority is customer service and attentiveness, a feature well noted in most of our hotel's reviews. We regret to read that a guest left our premises less that completely satisfied. We wish to have a chance to create a better memory of our hotel. Best Regards Lyttos Mare Exclusive Beach Resort Team

Took my husband on a well needed break to this newly opened hotel. Booked via secret escapes. Going through passport control was simple with no hold ups in checking forms etc. Hotel is around 15-20mins from airport.
On arrival check in was quick although the gentleman who checked us in spoke so fast in explaining where everything was it went over our heads.
Hotel itself is stunning, we had a superior room (full board) overlooking sea and pool, bed was comfy, tea, coffee and water provided in the room. If you have to iron anything bring a travel iron, this is not provided and they charge between €4-5 to iron a teashirt for you.
As well as the main restaurant there are 3 others, they mention a steak restaurant but this is yet to open. My only gripe is that the food was never hot enough for me, we did raise this issue in the Chinese restaurant and they made a point of correcting this (by the was food was yummy).
Drinks are average price but if you only have soft drinks buy this from the supermarket nearby. My husband is a brandy drinker and they charge a premium for this so we bought a bottle at duty free.
They were very COVID aware so you had to ware a mask when you were inside, disposable gloves provided in the restaurant but not masks so come prepared.
Lovely pool areas and plenty of loungers but if you go in the height of holiday season it may not be the case.
There is a spa and gym and the sister hotel next door. It is lovely and the staff are great. If you want a treatment it doesn’t come cheap so they won’t give you a price list, they discuss what you want first, average treatment around €80.
The sea is across the promenade at the back of the hotel, also nice for evening walks. If you turn left you will pass a number of restaurants and shisha bar if you fancy a change of scenery. You can also take a bus into the main city of Heraklion for €3, just remember the number of you bus stop for your return. Cab will cost €40.
My only gripe
No bathrobe and slippers which is what I have come to expect from hotels of this calibrate.
Staff at reception were not very informative, they should be ready with information about the area, places to visit etc which would be nice.
There would normally be a dedicated channel that would tell you things about the hotel and the amenities and the country you’re in but you only got a few minutes on social distancing, very poor.
All in all staff in general were very polite and accommodating and I would like to say thank you to Maria at the pool bar for the most amazing Pina Colodas, for rest and relaxation this was a great start.

You won’t be disappointed if you stay in this hotel. It’s simply stunning in its architectural design, extremely clean with amazing food and most importantly….the service is excellent and staff will go over and beyond for you.
You can tell how proud staff are of the hotel and although it’s a year old, it still looks brand new!
Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels supplied and fridge and bathroom products restocked. Some nice touches added inc fizz on ice and fresh fruit as a welcome. Olive oil and soap as a parting gift.
The fresh fish bbq at the Cretan taverna is excellent! Great for sunset watching too. Not so great for coffee though. Machine needs to be as good as the one in the main restaurant
The choice of food on offer is absolutely excellent and varied each night.
We loved the atmosphere and it achieved the perfect balance between timely, good quality entertainment and peace and quiet.
Never done an all inc before and was very impressed. Would highly recommend!!!!
We will be back again.

Myself (stephanie) and my partner Lee visited Lyttos Mare Analipsi on holiday from 3rd to the 10th May and found this to be a fantastic holiday destination. Our plane was delayed due to disruptive passengers but other than that, which was out of their control, Jet2 were reliable and made the travel as easy as possible for us.
The hotel is brilliantly located on seafront. It has lots of lovely pools and the option which we chose of your own personal mini pool This I highly recommend. Amazing seafront views and it beautifully light at twilight.
All the staff were soo friendly it made such a difference to the holiday experience it was a really lovely place to be.
On arrival they reopened kitchens for us, which made a excellent first impression. The whole week they served delicious food in their main restaurant with high quality standard of food and lots of choice, same with their themed Greek restaurant and Aisian restaurant. So much variety of fresh delicious food.
There were lots of bars in the hotel we especially liked the main bar laguna there because of the really friendly staff behind that bar.Their great company really was the icing on top of the cake. The menu of cocktails was excellent. We went all inclusive and I recommend anyone visiting to do the same, but if you are not, most drinks were reasonably priced and they have every drink . I recommend the Tangerine Blossom! There is also a strong selection of mocktails / non alchoholic if you dont want alcohol.
The hotel itself seemed very new and certainly the cleaning and hygiene levels scored 10/10 for mme. They were constantly working hard to keep the place spotless .
It was lovely to have a show to watch every night and activities to join during the day however some entertainment was excellent sax player, Virginia and some things had some room for improvement . There were tennis courts bikes for hire .
Locally were beautiful mountains we visited taking in the local history, food, people and buying local olive oil, goats cheese and Racki. Crete is a wonderful place to visit.
We honestly couldn't have wished for anything else thank you so much Lyttos Mare. See you again soon Steph and Lee.👍🏻

This hotel exceeded our expectations and is definitely worthy of those 5 stars. When we book a holiday we want good food, for it to be clean and to have a bit of luxury. We found that all those boxes were ticked. The food is lovely with a massive choice. The salad bar is unreal and the pizza is delicious. I tended to eat the grilled meat and salad which I thoroughly enjoyed. We did eat out at Captains bar a few times because we wanted to watch the F1 and the Lionesses which is no more than a 10 minute walk, turning right out the back of the hotel down the promenade. Along there you will find a few bars, we didn’t walk any further than Milos which is a little bar which gives you full Greek vibes!!
Our room was always spotless so have no complaints there and all the staff were friendly. We didn’t come across one rude or unfriendly staff member.
The pool area is delightful and the padded sun loungers are the comfiest I’ve ever lay on. Because of this they are extremely popular and the first week there were a few people who were asleep on them with their pj’s and covers!! I’ve never seen anything like it, absolutely ridiculous!! The hotel staff do remove towels off beds if they are reserved and nobody has been on them, it doesn’t matter if they have personal belongings on them or not. This did create arguments as people would arrive to an empty bed and set themselves up for the day and then 3hrs later the people who had reserved it at 6am would arrive shouting it’s their sun bed!!
We didn’t watch the evening entertainment so can’t really comment on that.
We had a lovely time and most definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely return. Thank you Lyttos Mare for a fabulous holiday!!

We stayed at Lyttos Mare for 5 nights and we had a great time! The hotel is amazing, it’s clean, modern, the rooms are spacious and the overall hotel design is fantastic.
The food at the buffet is delicious with so much choice for everyone. They do themed nights and I have to say the Mexican was my fave!
The only thing letting this hotel down is the service at the main restaurant. It seems at breakfast and lunch the staff are either too busy to serve you drinks or are focusing on the setting of tables instead of greeting and serving guests. We had great service was in the evening from the wonderful Eleni! So attentive, friendly and welcoming. The other young women serving at dinner were also fantastic!
Overall we would love to come back next year but the service at the main restaurant really lets it down!
Pros:
Amazing food
Bar staff at the pool bar are fabulous
Clean and modern
The best sun loungers - big enough for three people
Mamma Mia show was a highlight
Great location
Plenty of space to sit and relax
The mocktails and low alcohol drinks are great
Suggestions/room for improvement:
Service at the main restaurant was poor
Alcoholic drinks are way too strong
Table service around the pool would be a fab addition
Would be great if prosecco was included in the house wine list (you have to pay extra)
Bottled water should be available at all of the bars (it’s just in the room and main restaurant)
Paper map should have details of what restaurants are included in all inclusive and if you need to book
Snack bar lacks choice
Pool bar should have some snacks for throughout the day
If some of the above were implemented this would be a 5 star review and I would definitely come back 🇬🇷😊

„Exclusive beach resort“? Exclusive = expensive ✅ and limited 👎 (cambridge)
A brand new all inclusive hotel with stylish pools and rooms however maximising occupancy per square meter, unfinished build out. Very substandard service:
Fully booked at the moment means: to queue at the bar for five minutes day or night for a drink instead of being served (3 star standard?)
Fully booked means tables are slowly waited. Finished dirty plates to pile up on table and not removed between courses. Only once meal finished: (2 star standard?)
Fully booked means all very stylish sunbeds are reserved at 8 am in the morning…
Fully booked means the main restaurant has a canteen feeling (noisy, busy).
It seems the hotel simply does not have enough staff.
Stakehouse, beach snack bar, spa & fitness are not finished.
Pools very stylish and are filled with saltwater. Also the children‘s pools.
None of the private pool suites offer privacy. All are fully visible as the entire hotel is a half circle.
Food is good.
The greek restaurant by the beach is smaller and thus does not seem so much like a canteen.
The facilities can be accessed (minidisco, waterpark etc) at the neighboring lyttos beach hotel. Supposedly also a 5 star. But people are piled around pools like canned sardines…
The beach is wide sandy with enough sunbeads. The sea quickly deep and stoney. Most days with a red flag thus not accessible due to strong currents.
There is a 5x10 m area in the sea for three hotel with is accessible at all times (obviously overcrowded.
Would i come back as a couple or family? No!
Value for money substandard in Crete.
