Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.

Simply brilliant from start to finish and the hotel staff could not have been more efficient, helpful, prompt and courteous. Starting with location is ideally situated right in the center of everything and is walk able to all the main attractions in Athens. It is pedestrian street (although cars will attempt to go up it) so despite being central it is reasonably quiet. The hotel itself is a small boutique hotel full of suites and the rooms are very large and spacious and well equipped. A Large king bed with memory foam pillows and extras if needed. It has a large sofa and large desk above which is a large LED TV. The kitchenette was clean / modern and superbly equipped for pretty much preparing any meal and a minibar. Breakfast is arranged at front desk and is delivered to your room at the breakfast bar every morning - all dietary requirements are taken care of. The bathroom is large with top end toiletries and a large walk in shower. The room also has a large double wardrobe and lots of drawers for storage as well offering all the usual amenities a hotel could offer. Everything is electric and controlled from a center console including the lights, blinds, blackout blinds and air con. It has a printer in the room and also a laptop compatible safe for valuables. Our room number 6 had small balcony with table and chairs which particularly came in handy for the morning coffee. Rooms are cleaned daily and towels replaced every day with new toiletries and kitchen tea/coffee replenished also. This was top of tripadvsior at the time of booking and its easy to see why as it is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Restaurants Recommended: Aleria Vryssaki Ciel Tazza Alficon Tudor Hall Orizontes

I was here with my fiancé for a citytrip/friends visit. It was our first time using this hotel and we did not regret it! The hotel is very modern with controlling blinds system. A great soft bed and quality bathroom. We loved the rainshower! Although the hotel is in the middle of the centre, you could easily close the blinds and the room would be really dark. It is very clean and HUGE breakfast which we loved to wake up for! They even brought it to the room each day at a requested time (till 11:30)

MET43 located on small street parallel to famous shopping Ermou street. The room is modern, large, with fully equipped kitchen. The hotel does not have common areas – so the breakfast served to the room. Due to central location – we have reached important MUST-SEE sites by walking. Metro line 3 connects airport to the city center, Syntagma square stop is just few steps from the hotel. The staff is very friendly, helped with recommendations regarding the restaurants. Excellent hotel, great service.

Great location in central Athens but on a pedestrian street which makes taxi access challenging. The room was ultramodern with electronic controls for blackout blinds and lighting - a little complex on arrival but soon mastered. Exceptionally clean and beautifully designed with a warm welcome from the man at reception who also assisted with taxis and restaurant advice. Breakfast was generous but did not include hot coffee - a fancy espresso/filter machine is available. The rating is missing stars because the woman who worked in the evening flat out refused to order a taxi and said we should walk. I am 71 and had walked 15000 steps, did not want to negotiate Athens’ sidewalks in the dark but she said NO - it’s only a 20 minute walk to your restaurant . . . . Really?

We travel to Athens a lot and it is hard to get a decent place in the heart of the action that is well priced. We stayed here for 4 nights. large and spacious. Lots of natural light. Bed comfortable, kitchen well equipped and bathroom marvellous. Even has a towel heating rack. The view was reasonable the location excellent. With that came noise .... but we noticed that that significantly improved post festive season. Amazing restaurants at your door step a laundry about 80 mins away and the best yeeros - Kostas - nearby. High end fittings and technology. Definitely worth giving it a go as a family. The reception staff excellent. We will definitely be back.
