Very good beds in a spacious room (for 2 people) and Nick gave us a very warm welcome. The location is OK not perfect but quite good, the place is more quiet than the ones on the main road which is a bonus.

Possibly the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The room was like an echo chamber and the noise inside the hotel was unbelievably loud. This carried on all through the night and into the the next morning. I didn't get a wink of sleep. I also checked out a day early so I could book into a hotel round the...

We booked a room for 2 and we had a wonderful stay. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the center of everything, so that was excellent. Wifi, TV set and air conditioning in the bedroom. Recommended.

No frills hotel but very clean - room cleaned daily, with fresh bedding and towels daily too - and comfortable Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful. Superb location close to a metro station, but all major areas/sites in walking distance. Would highly recommend.

Hi, I was booked in at Athinaikon Hotel from 4 - 8 July and found the place to be an absolute nightmare! Athens was the last leg of our journey through Greece and it turned out to be the worst part of our trip, thanks to Athinaikon Hotel. On arrival, we asked the receptionist (Vicky) to please assist us with...

Dear Alisson, I would like to thank you for your stay, after some emails coming and going between us we received a lot of threatening from your side for posting a bad review demanding for a money refund even though you had booked with a strict non refundable policy but in your review you only put one side of the...

I've been in this hotel for one week. The position is perfect if you want to visit Athens walking, but it's also very close to the metro station. It's absolutely not expensive, perfect if you want to spend all your day visiting the city and come back just to relax. The bedrooms are quite small but clean, they make it...

Basic hotel with everything you'd need. The lady who runs it (not sure if she owns it) is super nice. Allowed us to check in free and store our bags before we left for the whole day no charge. Fast wifi and a close walk to everything

We had a nice time staying at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, helped us book an island tour and printed our next flight tickets at 9PM. If you're looking for a basic budget hotel room, this is the one. You can spend the money on souvenirs and experiences instead. :) It's about a 15-20 min walk to the...

The staff are extremely friendly and very accomodating! The room was very basic and clean. You absolutely can not beat the location in Athens! Close to the metro restaurants , shopping and more. There is no elevator if you have a ton of luggage beware.

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
