We were there inOct 2008, but it doesn't allow me to date it correctly. Anyway, I'm familiar with Athens and chose this hotel because it's convenient for the port and Athens. My bag had been stolen at the port and the staff were most helpful and kind. This hotel (for TWO star rating) is as good as it gets:- Comfortable... More

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in September, we were boarding a cruise soon and needed somewhere to stay until then. First of all Its (what seemed like) a very long bus journey from the airport and the bus driver was a maniac! We had the address and a map in our hands but we were walking... More

Good Points * Cheap * Friendly staff * Clean * Loung area in the lobby * Close to the tram line Bad Points * Location - it is a very cheap taxi ride to the port (3 euro) if you are going to the islands, but is quite far from the city. * Surrounds - there is literally nothing around... More

Having never stayed at a 2* hotel before, maybe my naivety has made me very negative about this hotel. However, I sincerely always try to be very honest about my reviews as trying to search the internet mass of hotels is not easy and can be a huge headache but my priority would always be to find a decent but... We weren't expecting too much from this hotel because the website said it was only a 2 star but we were very impressed. The room was impeccably clean with nice new laminate flooring, clean, crisp bedsheets, a nice balcony with a view, nice small decorative touches and very friendly staff. Breakfast was promptly brought out to your table when you... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
