The hotel is located in Mitropoleos Street (quiet street) which is near to Syntagma (and metro station), Ermou Street, Monastiraki and Plaka. Tsitsigas restaurant is just in front of the hotel. The hotel must have been recently renovated. The room was big and comfortable and clean! Bathroom was huge(!) in comparison with other hotels in Athens and provides with all... More

Decent place to stay in Athens, in a great location 200m from Syntagma square. Nothing fancy but everything you need in a hotel is there. Good value for your money. NB: elevator is too small, so at checkout time you may find yourself waiting for like half an hour. Do check out earlier than required, that's my advice :)

Very polite staff. The wet every efficient too. The hotel is not 5 star but it's clean and functional, just right for an overnight stay. We had a nice room 402 it had a double(2 single beds) and a separate single room. We were well looked after and told about all the sights Thank yoy

We came from the Islands and spent our last night in Athens in this budget hotel. Conveniently located 100 meters from the parliament and the flea market of the old town, we enjoyed the courtesy of the receptionists and the walkable attractions from the hotel. Noteworthy, the day before we called the hotel and the receptionist helped us to arrange... More

Stayed one night. Large group of us...great location! Make sure to get your passports back at checkout...several of us in the group forgot to ask, as we were in a hurry to catch our boat. Crazy time!!! Luckily our boat was late and we were able to charge back to the hotel after an hour metro ride. Guy at the... More

We went to Athens for our holidays and stayed at Pan Hotel which it was so near to Metro station and very good location. No need to take a taxi...very close to Ermou street and very good restaurants or snack bars around. The hotel was very clean and the room was very cosy. Our teenage son had his own bedroom... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Pan Hotel! So, what is the element that has made this 3 star city hotel of Athens operating for more than 50 years? The fact that is operated from the 3rd generation, something that effortlessly proves that tourism and hospitality run within the family, together with our friendly staff, are two of the most important aspects of our hotel that have made guests prefer us over and over again when visiting Athens. Our unique location (Syntagma Square), only adds to help you make the choice whether you are a family, a couple or a solo traveler, whether travelling for business or pleasure. The Parliament, National Garden, Panathinaic Stadium, Zappion, Plaka (old city of Athens), Monastiraki, Greek taverns, restaurants of national cuisines, Lycabetus Hill, churches of different religions, The Acropolis and Parthenon, numerous museums such as The Acropolis Museum, Archaeological Museum, The Benaki Museum, etc., central shopping areas, department stores, banks and embassies, etc. are all within walking distances from our hotel. Enjoy a walk or a swim at the beach by taking the Tram where its terminal is only 100m. from our hotel. Easily reached from the airport (El. Venizelos) or Piraeus port, as the Metro and the Airport Express Bus stop within 5 minutes walking distance from our hotel. ... more   less
