It's hard to say something good about this hotel. €69 per day for the room in quite bad condition it's misunderstanding.

Furniture worn out, the bed linen has holes, broken and dirty shower, mold on the shower wall, broken ceramic sink.

Breakfast included. Well, I can't say bad word about the food. Normal, tasty breakfast, unless hot meals like scrambled eggs and sausages were cold.

Good localisation, near to coffees, restaurants, small shops with souvenirs.

We have been sleeping even in worse places but in this case value for money I can't rate this place higher.

We are thinking to visit Athens again but we will choose different hotel.

We had booked a basement room and when we arrived we were upgraded to a lovely room with a balcony that overlooked the pebble road it was fantastic. The second day we went to the basement room which was basic and fine for the money you paid.

The breakfast was very basic,I recommend you change it.It was not the cleanest dining experience.

The location is great if you want to stay awake till early morning due to the business of the restaurants and night life.

It was ok overall.

Thank you

Our reservation was made many months ago and until the day before we called them and ensured everything was alright. When we arrived on the day and while we were still at the airport (just 1 hour before we get to the accomodation) they told us we never called them and refused to give us the room we were promised. Do not trust them!

Avoid this hotel and any of its group at all costs! My mom, her friend and I reserved it several weeks in advance, we booked the transfer service with them as well. When we got to the hotel the receptionist was very nervous and told us we had to go to their other partner hotel (Golden City), by taxi (on the house). I informed her about our friend’s reduced mobility and that she was handicap, so the location was crucial.
We got to Golden City and were completely mistreated by them. First, they gave us the key for the room. Okay, we went to the fourth floor. There was no room for us!!!
We went downstairs to ask the receptionist, he said the room wasn’t even in the hotel, it was a rental apartment close to the hotel! I asked for assistance with our handicap friend’s luggage, he said he could not do anything, with a smirk on his face!
We went to the building, people cooking drugs in the street. The elevator fitted only one person and it got stuck between floors. I had to kick and pull it open to take my mom out of it.
The room they gave us had only one bed for the 3 of us!
I went straight down to reception, gave them back the keys. Went back to Phidias. The receptionist said there were no rooms on our floor (2nd) because all of them had electrical issues and no light at all. I went outside and saw guests drinking and chatting on the balconies on that same floor she said was out of order!
I’d say they booked them in for a higher price.
Such scammers! Luckily I found another hotel (Dorian Inn) for the same night. The whole saga took us 4 hours, at the risk of our friend falling and injuring herself with the lack of assistance.

Avoid the hotel and the group if possible. We were told last minute (on the day we were to arrive to the hotel) that they will put us up in an equivalent hotel. I told them I was with family, we are traveling all day and not to book us into some horrible place. A few minutes before the flight, and after weeks of planning to get to Athens, I get an email that they moved us for the first night to another hotel, they didn't tell us it was was in their hotel group. The hotel (golden city) we were put up in was in an area where people were cooking drugs in the open, in hotel room there were brown stains on the bathroom floor and the room wasn't sound proof and they had a party going it seemed. The following morning we took the taxi as per the email instructions (it was paid for by the hotel group) to phidias to find out our room wasn't ready and had been having technical difficulties for days and wasn't ready the previous night and they weren't sure what room to put us in. As we had booked and paid in advance we were stuck and made to feel like they were doing us a favour. We finally got a hotel room which is so small we can't move after putting our bags down. We can't open the cupboard that's in the room as theirs not enough space. When I went down to speak to reception to ask for a bigger room (I said I can upgrade (pay a little more) I was accused of having too much luggage. I asked for a refund for remaining nights as they haven't got the facilities for two adults and a child to stay here and was told no. We only have two duffle bags one 70L another 60L. We are stuck in this room not able to move without tripping up over things. The room is a hs&e incident waiting to happen with no room to walk once you bring your bags in and electric cables running across the bed, open electric socks next to the pillows.

If you don't want to be fooled, don't go.

Room with dirty walls, nails on the floor, mold in the bathroom, dirty towels with a bad smell, loose cables on the walls, bedspread with stains.

The room was next to the bathrooms that people could use and next to the hotel staff room...unbearable noise.

They made me pay €30 for supposedly damaging a towel (I have pink hair and the towels get a little stained), something that can be washed and removed with bleach. I saw that it was a common practice to charge people, since I saw 6 or 7 post-its on the counter to charge different €€ amounts to different rooms.
On the other hand, I saw two girls waiting with their suitcases and they were told that the hotel was full and they would take them to another hotel, another more common practice.
The worst hotel I have ever been to in my life, be very careful when booking.

The service:
- at 20:30 on 31/12, upon our arrival, they inform us that they do not have a room for us due to a “pipe failure” (which, reading several reviews after writing this, we discovered to be their hallmark). They make us change hotels, sending us to the golden city, located in an unpleasant and unsafe area. They also promise us a dinner on offer. Never had one. Rather, they offer us a 0.33 beer to repay us for the beating. The next day the room was not ready (we had to leave our bags and some things to eat in the luggage room inside the air conditioner unloading room. Needless to say, it all went moldy. in the evening, when we manage to take possession of the room, the window was wide open, it was January 1, suboptimal temperature. But it doesn't end there....
- air conditioner: it barely pumped heat and gave off an unpleasant smell, in addition to the fact that it made a big mess. Not a well-smelling room or a frozen room? This is the daily question, until he was asked to close the window.
- bathroom: tiny, mini sink, route door that let water out of everywhere
- hot water: after not giving us the room, promised a never had dinner, the room had no hot water, which came back only the next night.
- bed: mattress and pillows of a resounding inconvenience. We have back pain
-fridge: the refrigerator was placed inside the closet. Its overheating led to overheating even the clothes. Hardly usable wardrobe
- balcony: although we had a top view, the air conditioning was placed next to the coffee table, ergo spit air and noise on
- poor reception service: they really didn't seem to care about the fact that they didn't reserve us a room without even warning us and that they didn't offer us hot water for a shower in the room.

What about it? Not recommended!

Arrival noon in the evening, only Greek speaking old man. After drinking we came into a very small room (loft) and floor was wet. In bathroom hot water squirted from the tap. After an hour of trying to keep this closed, only help from that man was found. We said to leave, did not understand us, no offer other room and at 2 am looking for hotel. Get nothing reimbursed, a great drama this hotel. Old and ramshackle and I've seen a lot of hotels. Never book

On my first evening I started hearing strange noises and when I turned on the lights I saw 2 LARGE size Rats running from the bin, the rats try to pull the wrappers from the bins.
In the morning I complained at the reception and with Just a smile the manager told me they are trying to remove the Rats and they are sorry for Inconvenience, Good Bye.
So bottom line only Stay here if you can share your room with RATS a lots and lots of them

Just in case another traveller has these questions, there is a safe in the room, and I used public transport to get from the airport to the hotel.
