Good hotel, friendly staff, 20-30 min by foot from city center, 3-5 min by foot to Omonia metro station, 2 metro stops from city center. By the way metro is perfect and convenient transport in Athens (on any station tickets are available to buy). Hotel Athens Mirabello has small but cozy breakfast area, nice view on nice Church. The only... More

It was just off a main street so reduced noise but close to everything. We enjoyed the ethnic flavour of the community. It was even close enough to the Acropolis that we could walk but we didn't have to pay the big bucks if we stayed in Syntagma square. Staff were very helpful with everything.

Great staff with help deciding how to get to attractions, booking a taxi, providing an early breakfast when checking out to catch ferry, supplying maps, etc. We loved the ethnic location a block from Omonio Square with its 24 hour bakery, garden exhibition, and easy walking routes to many attractions. Can see the Acropolis lit up at night from the... More

This is a good hotel if you are on a budget and you just looking for a place to sleep and shower. Stayed in a single room, which was basic but did have a fridge, a safe, a/c, and a balcony (the balcony was opening into the back side of the hotel and overlooked an abandoned and destroyed building). Has... More

This hotel is a nice hotel with wonderful staff but the building is old and the lifts are very small. The location is good cause it is close to metro station but Omonia square is not a very nice place. The breakfast was also very good.

Reasonable, clean and nicely done up but already falling apart and no maintenance. Lots of little things broken and scuffed. Breakfast is ok but only the cheapest products served by a sullen miss and ..... 9:15... No eggs.. All eggs gone... Payed €60 for double with breakfast. In holland and germany everything is new and perfect for that price. Still,... More

The hotel and hotel staff, in particular the front desk staff, were amazing. However, if you are traveling alone or with one other person, I would not recommend staying in the Omonia neighborhood. It is accessible by train, but it is not a nice area, and local Athenians actually recommend that you do not stay there. I saw a fight... More

This place was great - we had completely stuffed up our booking (wrong date & wrong room type) and the man at the front desk sorted us out with no drama. Really cosy rooms, great beds, nice and quiet area, and good breakfast. Excellent wifi which is a bonus when you're researching travel plans! Highly recommend

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was clean and cosy. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep despite the fact that the rooms have thin walls. The bath room was very clean and stylish, but the shower let the room down as it did not have a complete door so the water... More

The is a great cheap hotel. The place is clean and tidy. The rooms are large for Europe. The service is friendly. Close to markets. The train station is very close. This is by now means a luxury or romanic hotel but does serve a purpose. Would stay there again.

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.

“All rooms have balconies. Can see Acroplis lit up at night from common area on 8th floor.”

“ If this is what it is like in other rooms then this issue needs fixing. The shower was too small in my standard room and without a proper door water goes all over the bathroom floor. The shower head was too loose so holding the shower was not ideal, fix this and add maybe one or two English channels and this would be great. Apart from this a lovely hotel.”
