Pros: Great location from airport bus and Acropolis. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food. Great views of the Acropolis for drinks on the terrace. Fantastic shower pressure. Firm bed. Excellent customer service throughout the hotel. Cons: Rooms and bathroom are small. Internet was intermittent and slow. Limited English tv channels. The pros outweighed the cons for...

Great location for Plaka. Lovely rooftop terrace with Acropolis view. Breakfast very good. Clean modern bathroom with toiletries. Room 101 slightly small, claustrophobic room and no view and next to smoking area, so best avoid. Good value.

Our family of four stayed in two double room. The rooms are clean a little small but we didn't stay in the room much so it did not matter to us. We had Acropolis view room which is a plus. The room top bar is prefect. We arrived around midnight went up to the bar. The services are great we...

We were very happy with the location of the central hotel. Also the terrace bar and hot tub were very convenient and had a spectacular acropolis view. The room was small and sufficient. Would definitely stay here again.

We recently spent three nights at the Central Hotel. The room, although not spacious, was just large enough (narrow) and the bathroom was a good, comfortable size, especially for a Greek bathroom. The room felt light and fresh. We were on the back side overlooking the dome of an old church, the back of the school and had a small...

Overall would stay here again because it's right where u want to be... A Walking distance to most sites. If I had to say something negative about the hotel is that the proximity to a school and its very noise bell, ringing first thing in the morning it's not my idea of a relaxed holiday wake up call. Also the...

We had a very nice stay in June at the Central Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located and was clean, spacious enough for our family of three, and had an EXCELLENT breakfast buffet (the best we had on our 3 week trip in Greece, Croatia and Italy). The bathroom was a bit small and lacked counter space, but that was...

Found this hotel on Sky Scanner and then compared the rating for it on here, Trip Advisor, looked like a really nice hotel from the pictures we could see and had a really good price. When booking the hotel you can write a request if you have one for your room. Usually when you do this they don't do anything...

My husband, mother-in-law and I just spent two nights at the Central Hotel, and we can't say enough good things about it. The hotel looks brand new, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfast that was included was delicious (and very hearty for a European breakfast buffet), and the location was unbeatable. It was on a quiet side...

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
