Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighborhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.

Great small budget hotel. Walking distance to the Parthenon and restaurants and cafes as well as terrific shopping. Beds are comfortable. I have stayed in two different rooms recently although they were different they we bot great. One had a balcony one was slightly larger. Rooftop has spectacular views to the Parthenon. Breakfast is the usual Greek buffet style and the reception customer service was terrific. If I had a complaint I guess the wifi was sporadic and a little slow. I’ve stayed twice and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Fabulous location.

This place was great! The 2 gentlemen at the front desk that helped check us in were very accommodating to weary travelers, like myself, that have been flying for 14 hours. The rooms are clean, and the mattresses seem to be like memory foam which are most comfortable. Our room was on the 7th floor, and right outside was a rooftop lounge which gave an awesome view of the Acropolis. It seems like everything was within walking distance, but yes it's A LOT of walking!! They serve an amazing breakfast from 7-10am. I highly recommend the homemade marmalade on toast. DEELISH!!! Upon checkout, the front desk was able to arrange a special breakfast and a taxi to take us to Piraeus Port to go to our next island. Really nice stay!

I had a best time in Arion Hotel! Rooms are big and clean, modern bathroom. Free breakfest was nice and they even offer me light breakfest 5.30 am. Staff was very helpfull and polite. I was traveling alone and I felt safe. Just keep going right and street is full with bars and taverns. Location is great, you can walk to all sighseens, including acropolis. Metro station is very close. Only minus was with communication with hotel before arriving. There is no email addres, only contact me website. I sent 2 messages and never got replie. Also when you google Arion Hotel Athens, the first link is a scam page. These together made me feel suspicipous, but after calling Hotel it was fine. Still, if I ever come back to Athens I would stay here again 😊

Pros: breakfast; location Cons: small rooms; basic look We stayed for two nights. This hotel had one of the best breakfasts we had in Greece. They also allowed for an early more limited breakfast. The balcony was nice. The room was okay, basic and a bit small but good. Also the shower was a bit small. If you are larger I would not recommend this hotel. The double bed was two small beds next to each other. The location is also great. Next to all major things and nice restaurants. Would stay there again.
