It is hard to find a hotel that can accomodate a big group of 14 family members! But we were recieved and all of our needs were met. Kids were welcome and in the restaurant they were really patient and caring. The breakfast is a really nice buffet of greek food and all shorts of goodies.

We were booked into this hotel by our travel agent who specializes in wheelchair accessible travel. This is a lovely and modern hotel in the old market place. Our cab driver warned us not to go out late at night as there were 'undesirables' in the area ('drug users and prostitutes'). Breakfast was included with our stay and it was... More

The Pallas Athena Grecotel is an excellent hotel and great value! The staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet was incredible, the room and bed were cozy, and the location was good. We had easy access to buses, subways, taxis, and various attractions. We highly recommend it.

This is a comfortable and nicely decorated hotel. But with many flaws for the category they are claiming to be. Expect to be woken up by people arriving late or cleaners starting very early. You can hear the conversations in the adjacent rooms and it is not pleasant to be woken up by hoovering noises from the corridors. Also the... More

We arrived very early and they were very nice storing our bags for us. When we returned our room was ready. The crib was already in the room and the staff brought our bags. The room itself was clean and I bet at one time was great but leaves a lot to be desired now. The walls need to be... More

This is a real 5 star hotel from the cleaning of the room the design and the really good mannered personnel , it's worth every euro that you pay for it and is not even expensive. We stayed first 3 nights in Athens in a 4 star hotel that was recommended by some people and i was really disappointed by... More

This hotel overall was fantastic, certainly a 5 star experience. Despite the fact that this is a small hotel in Athens, they have a way of making you feel like it is big. They upgraded my wife and I to a sweet as soon as we got there. The hotel is on the path of the hop on hop off... More

We choose this hotel as it was part of the Grecotel group and so were fairly certain it would be of a good standard. We were welcomed with a room upgrade - a suite with two bathrooms and a separate seating area, two televisions and two small balconies. Not a very good view though - of the office block next... This hotel was fantastic with wonderful staff. The included breakfast was amazing and by far one of the best continental breakfast that we have had in Europe. The hotel staff arranged our transfer from our cruise and to the airport. While we did of course have to pay for the taxi, the hotel made the arrangements with the the appropriate... More

We felt very welcome at the Pallas Athen Grecotel Hotel from the minute we stepped foot in the door to the moment we left. If you are in Athens and looking for a quality hotel, this is your place. The staff was very friendly and had power adaptors ready for us. The hotel also provided some Greek desserts upon our... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
