Its about 17mins walk to syntagma. Omonia metro is about 5mins walk away. In that sense, its pretty easy to get around. If you are looking for a hotel in quieter part of Athens and even get to see a bit of local life like the markets then Pallas Athena is literally a stone throw away. The rooms are pretty... More

We only stayed here for one night but we were very pleasantly surprised. The rooms are very quirky... Ours had a graffiti drawing of a jungle with elephants, trees and birds with a huge note "welcome to the jungle" and ... mushroom laps. Hilarious! The main reason I give this hotel five stars is because of the breakfast. We have... More

Excellent night stay at this hotel. Lovely room, friendly reception, wonderful buffet breakfast included!! When we arrived at the reception desk, we were greeted with someone bringing us glasses of cold bottled water on a tray, and they had a bucket with bottled cold water in the front reception area. Classy! We were in an older area of the city... More

This Boutique hotel provides you with excellent service, friendly staff, ideal location. Popular with tourists, very beautiful rooms, enjoyable stay. Because of its very good location you are able to visit Acropolis, Plaka district, Monastiraki and Thiseon within 5 minutes walk.

We stayed in a premium graffiti room prior to a visit to Sifnos. The location is 5 minute walk to the flea markets and squares etc. The lobby is tastefully decorated and the staff were very helpful. There was a 'put up bed' in our room, our 9 year old daughter found this very comfortable, as was our bed. Room... More

Hotel location in crowded Athens is big tick in the box. It is close to the main sights and sounds as well as department stores for shopping relays. Rooms are small and a little bit dated. We got upgraded to the "Tinkerbell" room which had a slightly bigger balcony than other standard rooms. Bathrooms have good amenities and were kept... More

This is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Athens. It is within walking distance of the Acropolis and some of the well know touristy neighborhoods. The room was clean, comfortable, and whimsical in its decor with good air conditioning and plenty of hot water. All of the people who work there are welcoming and authentically warm and helpful and... More

I stayed here for four nights in mid august, and I had an exceptional stay. To start off, all of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We appreciated the upgrade to a lovely room with a balcony and nice view. The room was huge, modern, and cleaned twice daily. This was my first time in Athens (visiting from the... More

The location is excellent near the main food market and a short walk from Plaka and the acropolis. There are some very good local restaurants around. The staff are very attentive and the breakfast offers a very good selection of quality, local produce. The gym quite small but does the job.

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
