My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Ava Hotel. It had the perfect location close to the sites we wanted to experience. The Executive suite had a cute balcony which gave you the feeling of being in the city without the excessive noise. The staff was extremely friendly and hospitable. Would definitely return.
Solid choice in Plaka neighborhood. We had three rooms, one was executive suite. Great breakfast, helpful staff, fantastic location. Only reason it was. 4star is the furniture in rooms just a tad worn and the balcony picture on website for exec suite had a table and chairs. Our balcony was really small and empty. Just a bit misleading IMO.
AVA Hotel is situated in the perfect location, within walking distance of the Parthenon, museums, shopping and restaurants. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff helpful. Very much enjoyed the variety of fresh foods in the breakfast buffet, particularly the fresh-squeezed orange juice. Perfect spot for the first few nights of our Greece vacation!
I really don't understand all of the five star reviews for this hotel. My wife and I stayed there for four nights, and it was...... fine. We chose the hotel because of the number of five star reviews, which, again, I just don't understand. The people who worked there were friendly and helpful. I felt the website was a bit misleading as it shows someone standing on a balcony drinking champagne with view of the acropolis. We were on the first floor with a view of the back of another building. We did have a little patio outside, which was nice. The room itself felt a bit tired, the bed was fine, it was clean. It was ok. It was in no way a suite as I've always understood suites, though they call it that. The location was great. On the whole, it was an ok place. Not a place I'd likely stay again, though. They don't have a restaurant but do serve breakfast. It, also, was ok, but nothing impressive. To be fair, we planned our trip only a few weeks before going and many hotels in the same class were full, and at Ava Hotel, all of the Executive Suites and above were already booked, so we had only a standard "suite." Perhaps if one stays at an Executive Suite or higher, the experience would be better.…
We had booked a different hotel a few doors down and it was beyond terrible so we checked into the Ava which was just feet away. The girls at reception greeted us warmly and checked us in quickly. The rooms were immaculate and decorated beautifully. It was spacious and included an equipped kitchen. Within minutes complimentary sparkling wine and a snacks were delivered. After a long tour we decided to order a bottle of wine and a Greek pizza. They were delivered quickly and it was delicious. The following morning we enjoyed breakfast which was included. There were many hot and cold choices along with an assortment of beverages. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a nice touch. I highly recommend the Ava.
This was my second stay at the AVA Hotel in the past few years. It truly is a perfect spot for making the most of one’s time in Athens. Centrally located with the Arch of Hadrian a few steps out the front door in one direction, and the Acropolis just up the street in the other, this nicely appointed, comfortable, and very clean hotel is a lovely place to rest after a day of sightseeing in the city. The staff is warm and professional. I recommend this hotel without hesitation!
We were two couples traveling together and upon our morning arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by Vassia. Our rooms were not ready, but she stored our luggage while we went out to wait for the changing of the guard (it’s pretty special on Sundays at 11am). After grabbing brunch, we returned to the hotel and Vassia presented us with our room keys. The rooms are very spacious (executive suite) and the bathroom has two separate showers and a bathtub. The hotel is located on a quiet street and is EASY walking distance to all of the top attractions and lots of shopping. We walked everywhere we needed to go except for a Michelin-star restaurant that Vassia highly recommended (and she wasn’t wrong!) The hotel arranged our airport transportation for our departure and it was timely and efficient. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I return to Athens.…
The front of house team at Ava are absolutely wonderful, they were all so kind and attentive. From the first time I emailed them making an enquiry through the whole process of staying there they went above and beyond for us. We were a group of 9 and they could not have been more helpful. They all made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was a wonderful spread and very generous. The location is perfect, walking distance from the Acropolis and other attractions. There are wonderful places to eat within walking distance too. The hotel is located in a quieter street so at night it is not loud if you have children. The rooms were spacious, clean and had everything we needed including a hair dryer, safe, and slippers. We would definitely book to stay with them again. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and for everything you helped us with during our stay.…
We stayed at the Hotel in late Jan and we had an absolutely great time in Athens in spite of some unseasonable cold weather and snow. They hotel is in the Plaka and is extremely well situated for all of the main cultural sites that Athens has to offer as well as a plethora of restaurants in the vicinity. The AVA is such a comfortable hotel and as we booked one of the suites, with a large balcony that looked out to the Acropolis, it felt almost like we were living in the area. The daily breakfast was tasty and generous and really set us up well for the day. However the big differentiator between this hotels and other 4 star hotels is the staff. Vassia, Maria, Lambrini and Magda were unbelievably helpful, going out of there way to help us with tickets, restaurant bookings and recommendations, deliveries, taxis and everything else. Their warmth and helpfulness really made our stay special. We'd highly recommend the AVA for anyone taking a long or short stay in the city.…
This hotel is in a great location. Close to the subway and many places to eat and visit. It is also close to a place to get a COVID test. Got a really good deal that included a free dinner at one specific restaurant, free breakfast (they bring the food to your room), and laptop safe that would fit small and medium size laptops; may not fit a large. Thi s is a non-smoking hotel and did not smell any smoke at all. The staff was really really excellent. I did not expect to arrive at the hotel before check in time but it did not pose a problem. Their recommendations of places to eat were right on. Hotel is close to other major landmakrs such as Acropolos museum and Hadrian's Arch. The only part I did not enjoy was the thermostat. I was not able to have the ventilation on all the time until the second to last day of my stay. The room was still quiet despie this. My guess is because there were not many guests until the second to last day.. Prices were reasnable probably due to COVID. If I were to visit Athens, I would definitely stay here again. Keep up the good work everyone!!!! Staff did ask for vaccine card. Great views of the Acropolis of Athens.…
