Stayed here total 3 nights in June 2019. Is about a 10 minute walk from Monastiraki station so quite conveniently located. Surrounding area is quite seedy and run down. We were in a group so had no problems returning at night but would be hesitant to do so alone. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Rooms quite small especially rooms with 3 beds. Had fridge and safe in the room. Bathroom very basic but clean and tidy. Roof top views very good, almost 360 degree view including the acropolis. Decent continental breakfast provided. Overall not flash but clean and comfortable and has everything needed especially if you plan to be out all day exploring the city.

Together with my wife Ann we visited Evripides Hotel in march 2019 It was a very nice stay, very friendly staff, the guy at the check in dest (unfortunately I can't remember his name) explained everything to us using fluent English, told us what to see, when to see to safe some money and how to get there He changed our room for the one with a better view on the second day when it became avaliable Breakfast was not very sophisticated but enough to get you started for the day It was a good and easy stay

Hotel is clean with good size rooms in a fairly seedy part of Athens, but the location is great ! Only a short stroll to most things including the train station. The breakfast is worthwhile and the view to the Acropolis is brilliant. Definitely happy here.

We had requested a room with an Acropolis view and two beds (since you never know what size a double bed is in Europe), and we weren't disappointed. Got the best room in the hotel, room 606. Request if you can. Huuuge terrace with great, very impressive view to the Acropolis; fabulous at night. Chairs and table for evening cocktails. Bathroom was across a small entry, and was small but adequate. Seventh floor has breakfast room, and the view from there is spectacular, if you get a room without a view - but I don't recommend it. There appeared to be 3 or 4 additional rooms on the 6th floor, all with different sized terraces, but with the same view. Our friends didn't have a view, and their room on the third floor was small and dark (window light was blocked by next door building), very tiny bathroom and even some mold. Ours wasn't big, but the sliding glass doors with all the light made it very airy. Only problem with our room was that we were directly under the dining room, where they serve alcohol and snacks until 10 p.m. One evening, they were moving furniture around (or there was a function) until midnight, and the noise from above required earplugs, which worked just fine. Breakfast was good, and the desk personnel were very helpful with good English. Now about the location. It is very convenient and the neighborhood changes depending on which direction you come from. One day we got lost, and although we were only two blocks from the hotel, there were a lot of young men just hanging around (there is high unemployment), so it was a little intimidating. No quaint side streets in the immediate vicinity. Only a 15 minute walk from Monastiraki, just stay on the main streets. Lots of graffiti everywhere in Athens, but this neighborhood has been particularly hard hit. The good news is that cabs around the city are quite reasonable. We took a cab to Hadrian's Arch, about a 15 minute ride, for $9. Just be sure to always have a card from the hotel with you to show to the cab driver. There is a great deli/restaurant called Ta Karamanlidika tou Fani about 3 blocks from the hotel, and we ate there twice during our four-night stay, so you do not have to go far for a good meal.
