Exellent location in the centre of Athens, looking at the Acropolis ( some rooms), close to all " must see" attractions. Street crossing the Ermou with nice cafes and restaurants. Staff is very kind and helpful. The owners are very helpfull. I recommend this hotel for a short stay. The room is small but it has everything you might need.... More

This hotel is perfect for the travellers who wants to be near the action. The hotel is located on a chaming pedestrian street with lots of restaurants and cafés. It's near the metro and the touristic bus stop. The rooms and all the hotel were clean. The room we slept in were very tiny but since we were only sleeping... More

We arrived at this hotel to be greeted with "sorry, we have a problem". Not a great start after lugging suitcases up several stairs to the tiny reception area. They had given our pre-paid room to another guest who was staying longer. Apparently the length of stay was enough to demote us to a room without bathroom facilities. My reply... More

We had a horrible experience !! We stayed here for just a night and couldn't wait to run out of this place . The owner was terribly rude to us the whole while, I do not understand how people can survive that way in the hospitality business. There is nothing great about this place apart from the location.

Great location..close to metro, acropolis, shopping,Plaka and restaurants. Very clean but small and bath room is tight with hand held shower in basin/toilet area. Lift is just for luggage so not handy for anyone who can't do stairs. Beds were comfortable. Great for budget travelers.

Nothing good except location-it's perfect if you like being in the very center. But I think it is possible to find better around even the same ot very similar economy price. Maybe it would be better if toom were looking to the street but our was to the backyard and very small so room was unplesan dark

This small, clean hotel is in a perfect location - close to restaurants, shopping, the Monistiraki Square and a short walk to the archeological museum and the Plaka. The front rooms overlook the street and a small square with a flower market. The back rooms are very quiet. The owner and staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. I would definiately... Upon arrival, we realized the importance of being in a prime location in Athens and Hotel Tempi definitely delivered. It's within walking distance of practically everything and the best part is that the noise is minimal! It's inexpensive and you are not paying much to be in the center of Athens. The people who run the hotel are very friendly... More

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighborhood Profile
Monastiraki
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
