The hotel is straordinary. Big rooms cleaned, confortable with good fornitures. The hotel is in the center of Plaka, about 20 mt. form the main street. Spectacular. The wonderfull breakfast is very rich. We suggest to book on line with credit card some time before the departure. So you can save a loto of money. Racomandable.

Great location. Close to most must see attractions and 2 min to Metro for everything else. The main negative is the state of the carpets as read in other reviews. The staff were great and very helpful with advice, directions etc.

We stayed for a total of 6 nights, the Location was amazing andf get to most places by walk. The hotel is basic, not at all 4* may be a 3*, breakfast was very basic (only 2 hot items) and rooms are OK. Its not a bad hotel by anymeans but if you are after a hotel for the usual...

We spent a total of six nights at the Airotel during a recent trip to Greece. We started and ended there. The location is fantastic -- it is walking distance to pretty much all of the major attractions. The staff was also very friendly. That said, be aware that while the rooms are very very clean, they are also very...

The room was pretty basic, but a decent size and it had a balcony, and it was very quiet. The breakfast buffet was quite good, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The carpet and bathroom could have been cleaner though. The overall selling point for the Parthenon is the location and the price. It is located a block...

The hotel was within a 3 min walk from the Parthenon, on the edge of the Plaka section of Athens and within walking distance (5-10 min) of the shopping area in Plaka. The hotel personnel could not have been more friendly or helpful. The nearby restaurants are wonderful. The rooms are typical of European rooms. The size was very nice,...

Our party of two couples stayed at the Parthenon Hotel on three separate occassions, using the hotel as our common base in Athens between each leg of our holiday in Greece and the Greek Islands. The hotel is in an excellent position with easy access to the Acropolis Metro, Acropolis and Plaka. There is a large range of restaurants /...

If you want a hotel in the ideal location, with nice rooms, and a pleasant atmosphere, i can't recomend this hotel any more. My wife and i visited Athens with my mother - in - law, and the location of the metro, plaka area, and acropolis couldn't have made our trip any easier.

This hotel has a great location. It is a couple minutes away from the metro station and it was very easy to get there from the airport for a small fee of 5 euros per person. Considering how far the airport is, I'm sure a taxi ride would be super expensive so taking the metro was smart (cheap, easy and...

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
