So the hotel is clean, rooms could be a little bigger but the location is fantastic. It's right in the middle of the high street and walking distance from all monuments of historical significance. Take package with breakfast, it's worth it. Overall as per me it was a great deal.

Nice hotel...the staff was friendly enough (not horrible, but not great). A group of 8 people stayed at this hotel in August and the room I stayed in had bed bugs. My shoulders were horrible and we washed every single item we brought prior to our cruise as to make sure this wouldn't ruin our trip. Lucky we were pretty...

We were a bit skeptical at first when we booked this hotel. After researching and reading all the mixed reviews, and visiting the location with Google Earth, we were concerned about the overwhelming graffiti that seems to dominate most of Athens’ buildings in the surrounding areas, often mirroring the set of a dangerous neighbourhood in an American film. The Athens...

You would think by looking at the reception area that this is a quaint boutique hotel, however looks are very deceiving! While the staff are polite and nice, the rooms are awful. After our "upgrade", we got a room with two single beds (we had asked for a double bed - who still uses two single beds anyway?!?), ripped carpet...

Location is good. If the price is low enough and you do not mind sleeping in antiquated rooms on hard rock beds, then it is value for money. An average stay at best. There are other hotels also centrally located and it might be worth doing more research prior to choosing this one.

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
