I was very satisfied with the room, staff and morning breakfast. Good value for money. All important sites are walking distance away. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and warm. They literally designed our tour plan for a day which was definitely unexpected.

Beautiful room, with balcony in a quiet area of Plaka, but within walkingdistance of the main sites and the metro. The hotel had a nice atmospere, personal and old ambiance. We really enjoyed our stay!

I've been for my birthday at Acropolis House Hotel...on the 23rd October at midnight I've arrived there.Actually for a 3 star hotel is very good... The location is great... In the city center of Athens, not far away from the temple of Zeus, the Acropolis ancient buildings and many others. Also very good area for shopping. My room was ok...... More

We stayed here for a quick night in Athens between Santorini and flying back to the US. The owners were extremely kind and accommodating, between helping us arrange a taxi ride to the airport when Metro workers went on strike and just being great to talk to after long hours of travel. The breakfast is delicious, with plenty of choices... More

I must admit when I first arrived here I wondered what on earth I was doing, but within an hour the place grew on me to the point I loved the eccentricity of the whole hotel. I stayed here in October for three nights and I had an amazing time. Every piece of furniture and decoration seems to come from... More

Very friendly hotel, with nice and traditional atmosphere, very good handmade breakfast in the picturesque area of Athens, Plaka. A family run hotel which knows of Greek hospitality and respects its customers.

Very well situated for exploring the older part of Athens in a traditional no frills Greek Hotel very handy for the varied tavernas and the Acropolis in a mostly pedestrian area.Close to Syntagma Square with coach and train link to the airport. The Hotel has benefited from a modest improvement .Friendly and helpful staff make it ideal for Athens on a... All the personnel was very kind and pleasant. We found the better breakfast of our trip in Greece. This Hotel was family-friend. Its location is optimum, at the gate of the old town, very near of the Acropolis, easy to reach from the airport thanks to the metro. The bill is affordable.

I had a wonderful time at Hotel Acropolis. The hotel is old fashioned but has a lot of charm and character. Still original paintings on the walls! I can't fault anything about my experience here. Walking distance to all the major tourist attractions in a very safe area. Highly recommend!

Can't change date above but was there in 2013 hotel had great lamb. There room was a little sm. but the hotel was in a great location with wonderful service. First night was spent on the rooftop restaurant in the moonlight with the Acropolis center lit up on the hill in the backdrop made me cry.

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
