We arrived to the hotel with a taxi from Rafina port. Took around 40 mins. We were given a quadruple room that was quite old. I asked if we could have a renovated room and we were given one on the 9th floor that was extremely nice and comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and took breakfast there at 9 euro per person. They offered a good variety of items but it was everyday the same… The pool is really deep and nice, even the bar. On our first night we had dinner at the pool bar and the portions were very big. The hotel is a 20 min walk from the centre. Sometimes we walked, other times we took a taxi that was quite cheap. Public transport was not so convenient for us 4, almost the cost of a taxi! I suggest the app Beat for taxi.

From the restaurant on the roof you can see at night Acropolis wonderful lighting, but also Lykabettos Hill with the small church - St George's Church ( Agios Georgios ).
Although the rooms are small, the cleanliness is exemplary and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant serves an excellent Greek menu and the local wines are of the same class.
The hotel is located in the center of Athens, a 2-minute walk from the Omonia subway station. From here you can easily reach the subway to all the historical places.
The hotel has 3 true stars and the price is very good in terms of quality.

Proximity/accessibility is great! Restaurants, shopping and all is easily walkable within 10 or so minutes. Metro is straightforward, use the blue line to the airport from Syntagma, use the red line to travel to Syntagma or Acropolis from Omonia. The surrounding area is a problem that the city of Athens needs to address and not the Hotel itself so those rating the hotel due to area isn't a true reflection of the hotel. Avoid the alleyways like Geraniou if you're traveling with children, elderly or generally slow walkers as you'll easily spot teams of pickpockets scheming and targetting... so make quick work of your alley strolls when possible. Omonia square isn't bad at all around 10/11pm, although you will see beggars here and there like anywhere. As for the question of druggies, it's an urban center, every urban center has its area, I haven't encountered any of this but you can encounter the general kooky homeless person possibly drunk or high on something on the metro so be aware. As a reference, Canada's Capital Ottawa has zombies walking around their main market with syringes sticking out... Maybe I was lucky but I haven't seen anything remotely close to this in Athens. The general area around the hotel is urban derelict. Choose Plaka or similar if you're looking for more exclusive areas. As for the hotel, rooftop restaurant is good, food is good but you can easily order takeout or go down the main street for much cheaper. Pool is good. Rooms are ok, nothing fancy, could be updated. AC can be better. It's tidy and clean but you may experience a creepy crawly from the floor drain in the washrooms (not the end of the world). Grab the breakfast option if you want breakfast but don't want to stroll for 10 mins for some pites and the like...

To start with my advice is to not stay at this hotel. You do not get what you pay for.
We booked to stay here after narrowing down a number of hotels with similar facilities such as, a pool with sun loungers and provided towels and a late check out time. My advise is don’t stay here or believe what is advertised.
We arrived at the hotel and we were informed we would have to book a breakfast slot and also wear a mask around the hotel due to Covid, which is completely understandable in the current situation.
First of all, the hotel advertises sun loungers around the pool, this is not true and you are expected to lie on the floor. Obviously, the guests have an issue with this as you observe people arriving at the pool before shortly leaving. They also advertise the supply of pool and beach towels of which when asked for they do not provide. We hadn’t packed any towels for the pool or our beach visit on the back of this information, leaving us having to go out and buy towels of which we could not bring home due to room in the suitcase.
Breakfast is basic and extremely salty with us only actually eating it twice before opting to go and eat elsewhere.
The hotel advertises a paid laundry and ironing service, this is not the case. We were told by reception that they do not have these facilities and would have to walk with out clothing 15 minutes to a laundrette.
On the last day we returned to our room at 10:45am after having some breakfast. Our plan was to shower, relax and pack ready to check out at 12. We found the room was locked. On approaching reception, we were to told we had just 15 minutes to pack our things and leave the hotel and that they had now changed the check out time, despite our booking stating 12. We were unable to shower or change due to this and ended up rushing around trying to pack our things.
We were also told the hotel had secure areas for our bags, this is not true and the bags were simply left in the main reception area with no tags or name attached. We returned later in the day and took the bags in front of another staff member with absolutely no questions asked.
When you bring any issue up with reception, many of which are listed above, they use the convenient and sometimes completely irrelevant excuse of Covid. The reception staff are disinterested in any complaint or issue you have at all and are very dismissive. We complained to the booking platform who actually contacted the hotel and have made them change a number of adverts and key points they say they provide.
I am expecting some sort of apologetic reply on this review from the hotel but, I can assure you this is just for public view as the hotel has absolutely no interest in what we had to say or the fact we were unhappy, even one point being told to go and leave a review.

Situated 2 mins walk from Omonia Square and metro, from the time you enter this hotel you feel relaxed. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful and will assist you with any queries that you have about your stay.
On the 1st floor is the restaurant where the buffet breakfast is served with both European and English styles catered for, and dinners are la a carte, or set menu (if you have booked dinner bed and breakfast as we did) and our set menu was divine, but the jewel in the crown for this hotel is the 12th floor.
The 12th floor is where the bar pool and outdoor seating area is, with food available and a view that is fantastic. You can see the Acropolis and Temple of Athena, which is made more spectacular when it is lit up at night, and you are sitting under the stars with a glass of your favourite.
The rooms are clean (heated as we were there in January) and although not large there is plenty of storage space, the bed is very comfortable which made for a restful sleep to start your day. The bathroom was clean, shower large enough for us and had all the little extras one expects from a good hotel. There was TV with a USB plug insert, phone and menu for room service which comes from the 12th floor.
All in all a great place to stay highly recommend and we will stay again for our next rip to Athens

If I could rate dorian inn higher rating I would do it! Second time at this hotel and we were sad to leave it. We spent three nights this time in a room at the seven floor.
The room was big and the bathroom huge! We asked to have the room cleaned daily although because of the covid-19 we could just not request a cleaning at all.
But the hotel is so sensitive on these issues and had disinfectants everywhere and on each floor. The staff also was very careful, the drawers in the room with the glasses and snacks as well as the mini bar were marked with a sealing tape. Moreover, upon check-in we had a temperature measurement. All these make you feel safe and relaxed. You know these people do their job well! Housekeeping is top in this hotel! Little details make you feel special. The breakfast is amazing
Definitely staying again and again at this hotel, when given the chance in the future(thanks you DESPINA- restaurant)

We all had a really excellent 3 nights at this hotel. They gave us two rooms next door to each other, they gave us friendly and precise help and advice whenever we asked, the room service staff gave us excellent room service whenever we needed it, the breakfast was pretty good (not outstanding but pretty good), the rooms were very clean and good linen and the room cleaner was very nice and very friendly and helpful. At the end of the trip I left my keys in the room and they very kindly posted them to me in the UK, without charging me. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel...the location is excellent and you are proper 'in Athens'. Locally there are loads of Indian and middle-east influenced cafes and takeaways that are very cheap and very good holiday food...the kids loved it. Also, within a few streets - loads of little squares with eat outside facilities. You can walk everywhere from this hotel, and if not, it is near the metro. We walked everywhere and we all had a brilliant time.
Thank you everyone at Dorian Inn. We will be back to see you again as soon as we can.
NOTE: the restaurant on the roof (Point of View) is a different entity to the hotel, so I have reviewed that separately.

The hotel looks nice on pictures, the reality is something else..
The bathroom is so small, that when you sit on the toilet, you can put your feet in the bath.
When you want to take a bath, you better not be bigger than 150cm.
The beds are not comfortable.
You can hear your neighbours breath.
70% off the guests are schoolchildren who don't mind screaming and knocking on doors all night. Staff is not doing anything about it even when you make a complaind.
The city where the hotel is located is a ghetto.
When I went to the bar, being 24years old, I drank a cocktail and bought a bottle of wine, no problem.
The next day I had to show my passport and they didn't want to serve me.

Stayed at the Dorian for one night at the beginning of our walking holiday in Evia and one night at the end. It’s a lovely hotel with very friendly staff. All safe with masks, social distancing and temperatures taken on arrival. We had single rooms on the 7th floor both nights. The rooms were large and a fab bathroom with amazing shower. Toiletries available too. Bed and pillows comfortable. Breakfast was served on the rooftop terrace. Was ample, nice fruit salad but no traditional Greek yoghurt to accompany it, we were a bit surprised with a pot of German yoghurt! We had a light lunch on our last day which was tasty, salad and baguette. We had drinks both nights, the view from the rooftop terrace is amazing. Great location for sightseeing though the area not the safest at night, we felt a little nervous heading back from dinner. Would not however put us off from staying here again.
